  • On 23rd October 2018, Sea Wave Energy Ltd (SWEL), in collaboration with the University of Cyprus, Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, performed a series of experimental tests for their wave energy technology, showing outstanding ground breaking results and potential.

    How do you deal with maintenance I'd implemented ? Salt water is corrosive then there are organisms trying to live on the surface.

    That's seems very promising, but when I saw the output of 300W... that's just a third of what you need for a refrigerator!
    The invention is good, harvesting wave power is clever, but you have to think footprint as well...

      If there is a giant field of them in the middle of the ocean a battery boat can bring it to a city on the coast.

      @@ikzelf100 they can't be in the middle of the ocean because the transmission loss is going to be massive.
      They need to be in coasts, which means to power an small town you gonna need to swarm the entire coast with these which is going to have serious effects for marine life and heavily disrupt shipping lanes.

    Its gonna fail. To many mechanical parts. Not feasible on a large scale!
