A friend just sent me some information on the boat. It turns out it was involved in an incident off The Norfolk Coast and nearly sank. It sounds like they may have caught something like a mine or munitions on the sea bed.
    This link gives details.

Those little short stubby fishing trawlers do look so unstable. I'm surprised that they ever passed the required seaworthiness tests. Wouldn't catch me on one!

I once went up Whitby lighthouse. I later found out that it is haunted. 👻
I think I saw "it" and spoke to "it"
I walked around the outside of the lighthouse first before I went up it. There was no-one there. I thought great, I'll have the lighthouse to myself for a while. I went up the very steep and very narrow staircase. When I finally got to the top, there was a young man standing there, who said hello. I got the fright of my life. There was no way anyone could pass me on the way up those very steep and very narrow steps. It was hardly wide enough for one person, let alone anyone else, and yet there was this young man 👨 at the top saying hello to me. How did he get up there, I have no idea. It wasn't until I got back home and I was chatting on the phone to my dad's cousin, that he told me that it was Haunted. OMG.!!!!! This I did not know. I could have died. I dropped the phone and froze on the spot. I have never been up there since.😢😢😮😮😮😮

Hi William, They are Whitby Owned boats. There are a few local families who own boats that used to fish out of Whitby but as the fish moved North the boats moved to fish from ports further North.
The Leadleys, Lockers and The Price family have boats that fish mostly in Scottish waters, but every year the boats come home for Christmas.

Thank you, I had heard the east coast fishing fleet were all well connected going back to the herring fishing times but never knew how well.
It takes me the same time to drive to Fraserburgh as it does to drive South to Whitby, tough choice to make as they're both beautiful parts of the country.
