[Cars] Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor at the Isle of Man TT course. Ride ends in court...

It took place on the Isle of Man in May 2012. I didn't see the police on motorcycles following me. After they stopped me, they let me continue, but they referred the case of dangerous driving to court. I remembered that I was recording my ride later on; at the time of being stopped, I completely forgot about it. In October, during the first court hearing, I requested a deferral of the case, informing that I had evidence that I wanted to present to the prosecution, which was IoM police. That's when I also looked for a lawyer who deals with such cases. He watched my video and stated that, in his opinion, the driving was safe, and I did not pose a threat (which I also believed from the beginning and told that to police officers). My lawyer sent the video to the police to withdraw the charges based on it. Unfortunately, the police only agreed to change the charge from dangerous driving to careless driving. I was ready to accept this solution as I would have my license suspended for only three months instead of a year. However, my lawyer told me directly that they don't want to withdraw the charges because they would have to pay all the costs, including my compensation if they did so. That's the only reason they're persisting, but you'll win with this video because the charges are unfounded. Everyone drives like that on Mountain Road. The next day after our conversation, my lawyer called me and informed me that he had talked to the complainant, and they agreed to withdraw the charges entirely.
Without this video, I wouldn't have had a chance in court. The police had one witness, along with the two officers who stopped me, three people would testify against me. I had no witnesses. I was alone. On the one hand, this video is a lesson to always record your car or bike ride, and on the other hand, it's a reminder that the police can also be mistaken, and their judgment may be wrong. That's why if you believe/feel that you are not guilty, it's worth fighting for it.

I can see his point. While you could see it was limited. Not a clear view for miles. If someone with the same speed would have come your direction it could have been dangerous as there was traffic on your side. Which may not always slow down for you or let you in. Just an opinion. It may look that way on this video but in reality all was safe. If police decided to withdraw this case from court they new, even with their statements, that there is no chance to prove that was at least careless driving...

To policjant "paczał" na styl jazdy,swój prędkosciomierz(Vic ma legalizowany) czy wskazania jakiegoś radaru?

W UK jest takie prawo, że policjant może uznać jazdę za niebezpieczną tylko, ze nie wystawia ci wtedy mandatu tylko kieruje sprawę do sądu. NA tej drodze stanie z suszarką nie ma sensu bo tam nie ma limitu prędkości :)

@@everydayaveragefamily Czyli nie ma jak u nas -poza obszarem zabudowanym max 90 o ile nie ma innych ograniczeń.Dobre.W zamian policja może na oko stwierdzić czy kierowca jechał bezpiecznie czy też nie.Ps:Tamten spod nad jeziorem na Kaszubach był zdecydowanie zbyt krótki.Za mało czasu na rozmowy.
