Long sword has a huge advantage against Rathalos. Most of weapon in this arena is short range, those with long reach are not favorite type. Thank you, capcom. To me, this is not a challenge but a sanity test, after this fight, I kill every Rathalos I encounter.
Still room to improve? are you serious!! that was incredible to watch. Ive rage quit the game over this arena quest so many times but I need the Rathalos coins to try and get my divine slasher. Is the bow your #1 weapon choice while hunting monsters or did you need to practice for this arena quest?
Thanks for the upload... Much appreciated. I've replicated the charged shot climb, what I'm curious about is if we can aim the shot afterwards or is the shot going to go in a general direction. I'm on KB/M. Cheers :) *Edit* Figured it out. Posting this so anyone else on KB/M will find it easier. Charge Shot > Dodge (when close to wall) > WASD to aim the following shot. This really is the perfect example the devs quite literally remapping controller schemes onto KB/M. Awful design for PC.
I played this 50 times, never could get lower than 10 minutes. I did this, and a number of other strategies, the wings don’t break this fast. Something is off...

I use up 30mins of time and i use bow. I get rekt 5-7times almost everytime....but i had to endure for a stinking rath coin. Finally able to make my supremacy sword so happy....then 2 diablos......fucked my entire day so bad.....goodthing i got my divine slasher. Not after getting raped so many times.
Yep, totally luck that he could complete this quest four times before you got it done even once. Just as an FYI, poison attacks rarely come out unless you're directly beneath him 24/7, his fire attacks have obvious tells and decently long windups, and stun only applies if you're getting hit multiple times in a row. Try getting good before you dismiss other people's success as luck.
@@stupefy777 If you're not near him all he does is @ 0:45 the claw attacks also can poison. Honestly, what he was doing, the run around charging and shoot after attacks is my go to tactic. He was really lucky it didn't do that breath launch and claw swipes while he was spamming the wall attacks for that long on the ground. The usual experience is that if it lands, it relaunches using that pattern right away.
@2 yk nah, it's a tough one tbh. I played more than 400 hours of this game, currently doing MR missions, and only with the bow and still this one drives me nuts. As long as it's on the ground it's fine, but when it gets airborne and enraged there are only very small time windows for evasion and attacks and once it hits you during that period there's a good chance it's going to knock you out with a second blow before you get a chance to recover. It's definitely one of the harder things you do in this game, so I'd say there's definitely no shame in having issues with it.
I remember MH arena quests being easier than in MHW. I could get barely A with melee weapons if I was proficient with a monster and my weapon. Now its SPAM and exploits... nevertheless I applaud the effort that was put in
Yarmoth If you break its wings, itls fly for a lesser mount of time, which is super crucial especially in speedruns and time rushes like the arena quests.
Tried to kill this fuker for the long sword and my 1st and 2nd try made me feel like blowing up my console. Tip : When you're having a hard time fighting him try to stay calm and analyze his patterns soon you'll be able to read his movements especially since almost all of his move patterns are almost always in order.
Chris P. Chicken Except when enraged. Or at least that's now I see it. Being normal they have more predictable patterns. While enraged, their moves are more erratic and chain together which can be fatal if you aren't knowing what you're doing. While exhausted,they're more lethargic obviously. Pray to the Sapphire Star this isn't as unfair as the old gamed. Enraged monsters would trap you in a corner and mercilessly combo you to death with their absurd hitboxes.
I just failed out after 45 minutes of nonstop shooting i broker both wing and its face slept it poisoned it and used all my flashbugs demondrug and might seed and the fucker refused to die and here you do it in 5 fucking minutes i legitimately dont understand

You have to aim both analog sticks towards the monster
How come the your character has voice effects, i never heard my character do any sound effects

I have never seen him stay grounded this long wtf lol lucky he doesn't just poison stun then 1 shot fire blast you.
He probably just waiting for the perfect run, for me the best i got is 28 minutes
