I just bought this 65 .from the guy that took the 225 out . The floors were gone .I just ordered the floor pans. And a driver side quarter panel. Trunk hinges should be here today. I am going to put an early 70's 318 LA in her and make here a driver. Was cool to see here on RUclips. Whish me luck
Another car buff in the making! So great to see that. Father and son, father and daughter. Brings back memories of working with my dad on his boats. Cheers
Thanks Robert! I'm hoping to include Isaac in some more of my videos. He had fun with this one, and I think he'll be a great helper like his big sister one day.
You scored! Every Barracuda I find in that kinda shape is still $1500-4000! I’m not prone to jealousy, but I got to admit … I am jealous of a deal like that!
That's a cool old barracuda and knew it would run since it is a slant six. The car looks like it needs some body work but the frame looks to be solid so it would not be hard to cut the rust out and weld some new metal in I have always loved those early Valiant/Cuda cars with the fastback styling and big back window
There's a lot for me to enjoy about this car three on the tree love it you know why it's slanted because the thing is such a tall engine that was my brother told me that, and I like this car even if it is rough is okay just like bump is racing. It's a straight 6 it's awesome they got so much Toric.
I'd be happy to find one for that price. I'm curious about the Rally wheels, aren't they 4 1/2" pattern. If I remember correctly the 67 I had was the 4" pattern. Cool project!
Cool video as always, i had a 65 comando 273 4 speed that was really nice back in the mid 80's with cragars and pretty fast for that small of a v8, I always like your videos especially when a Mopar is present 👍👍👍👍👍✅✅✅✅✅.....leaning tower of power...lol✅
Leaning Tower of Power! 😎👍 Very cool Barracuda (not to be confused with the 'Cuda that came later) Would make a cool hot rod for sure!! 413 Max Wedge! (Now im just fantasizing) Thanks for sharing!
Well, that works out perfect because I'm not going to work on my Pontiac until the summer. I'm not very familiar with distributors, especially old points. Would love to get it going and show you around.
@@HotRodHoarder As far as I know ,same for Plymouth and Dodge, originally red, later on blue, and then black. By the way thanks for all the very interesting, very informative videos, and you're a great Dad ,it takes me back .👍
Yeah, pretty sad ending, seeing how good the ol Slant 6 ran. The engine has already been pulled and body sold. Maybe someone will fix the body and get it back on the road.
Just to go before your time.. You could buy one of those new from a Dlymouth Pealer That was from a radio Comercial, advertising them. The guy could only say, "Backaruda" A fairy or something fixed that, and them he could pronounce Barracuda !! But couldn't pronounce Plymouth Dealer !! I STILL call them Backarudas !!!
In 1965, NASCAR banned the (all-mighty) Hemi and Richard Petty went drag racing....BTW... it's almost cheaper to put a straight axle under it then convert to a stock V8.... and good luck with headers that fit the OEM front end....
I know where there is a car like this sitting in the weeds. And it’s for sale. It has a small block v8, and a stick shift floor shifter. With buckets. But there’s one major problem. It was hit real hard in the 1/4 panel.
Honestly, I never had a chance to really give it a full inspection underneath. This was a quick project. I'm sure it was salvageable, but definitely had some previous repairs.
I had one of those with the same engine. Had an automatic stick on the center console. Paid $75 for it in 79 with a ratty exhaust. It sounded like a tank. lol
These early Barracudas are not the prettiest cars in the world...but the '67-69 Barracudas really made up for it. Probably my favorite Mopar body style.
Obviously, will it run videos are not the focus of my content here on RUclips...I mostly focus on vintage drag car documentaries and old car hoards, but my family and I do this for fun, so I might as well video it.

My brain goes to hemi under glass dude it's so full of potential. Nice!!!
Man, it's people like you who are saving these cars from being crushed. I love it. Thanks brother!
Thank you for watching!
A childs imagination and wonderment is good to see.
It's very entertaining to watch you get these old wrecks going again. Plus doing a victory lap is too funny!

Your suppose to put a gas and oil mixture in the carburetor to lubricate the rings when an engine been sitting for so long
Isaac is coming on fast, great to see him growing up. A smart little dude. Great video sir
He's growing up quick! I was glad he got to hang out with me a little bit for this one.
Sorry to hear that guy is going to take the motor out of it. It deserves to be put back to at least some of it's former glory.
I just love the boy enjoying the toy, Oh and his son too!
Got that tower of power to live again. Great engine. Very cool 😎. And moving on its own power. Outstanding 💯
Thanks for sharing! 👍👊❤️

What an absolutely beautiful car almost 70 years old would make an incredible project and perfect candidate for a restomod
Good job, the first car I remember in the family was my dad's 65 Barracuda, red, 273, auto, wish I had it today.
That's a cool old barracuda and knew it would run since it is a slant six. Your persistence paid off! Your door latch/seatbelt combo was a little sketchy though. Lol Great stuff!
And no brakes 😮
I've got to start watching Facebook market place! I really want one like this one or like the darts you sold to sleeper dude! Awesome!
The fish swims again 👍🇺🇸

That's awesome man. I got a 66' I used to drive. Still got it but hasn't ran for a long time. Got a 273 in it. Them rally wheels are worth that.
Nice! I'll probably be kicking myself for selling it so quick, but we made a few bucks and moved on.
I'd be happy to find one for that price. I'm curious about the Rally wheels, aren't they 4 1/2" pattern. If I remember correctly the 67 I had was the 4" pattern. Cool project!
I believe this car has the smaller 4 inch pattern. We took a spare tire/wheel off my dad's '64 Valiant and it bolted right on.
@@HotRodHoarder i didn't know they made 4" pattern rallys. Cool👍.

I'd say these things were a handful with just about any V8, but yeah an old Max Wedge would definitely provide a thrill!
@@HotRodHoardera warm 340 and auto trans would be a reasonable swap .
Anytime you decide to visit Alaska. You're more than welcome to try and help me get my 63 Lemans running.
I'd love to visit! *during the summer
Well, that works out perfect because I'm not going to work on my Pontiac until the summer. I'm not very familiar with distributors, especially old points. Would love to get it going and show you around.
Besides, I don't think you really want to come here and deal with over 3 feet of snow and counting.
I had a 65 barracuda commando v8, 273 4 barrel with a 4 speed
Nice! I never realized how rare the V8 4 speed Barracudas were until I started doing some studying on these cars. Very cool.
Wish I still had it
I had a 64 like this. 273 4 speed 2 barrel carb. Factory. Wish I had it now.
The old slant 6. Quite the runner.
Officially, I think the engine should be red. One good thing is that most of those missing parts can be taken from a Valiant .
Was the engine color a Dodge vs. Plymouth thing?
@@HotRodHoarder As far as I know ,same for Plymouth and Dodge, originally red, later on blue, and then black. By the way thanks for all the very interesting, very informative videos, and you're a great Dad ,it takes me back .👍
Used to have one of those along time ago loved that little car put shag carpet in the back it folds down you can sleep in back
Nice! I noticed the fold down seat. They were definitely some neat cars. I'll be kicking myself for selling this one so quick.
What a crazy location for a distributor
It's crazy how much room there is in the engine bay, except for the distributor being crammed over next to the inner fender.
Great vidya. Shame the ole girl's getting parted out tho ☹️🏴🇺🇲

badge says barracuda , top of the dash leads me to believe its a super bee 😂
I would rebondo it up again put a 200 dollars paint job with some cragers and drive the wheels off it
Yeah, honestly, the car had good enough glass and trim that a budget paint job would've really worked nicely.
Dang 400 bucks.....the back window glass should bevworth at least that....really good score if it has more body and frame than rust.
Honestly, I never had a chance to really give it a full inspection underneath. This was a quick project. I'm sure it was salvageable, but definitely had some previous repairs.
good job there horder
Thanks Mike!
Yeah, cool azz. Thank you champion 👍🇦🇺
Started to bodywork and primmed over rain coming
I can't see a old cuda with out thinking about hemi under glass 😮
Sooo, it's a superBEEracuda with the rare woad wunner package 😮
Also, just named my blue pitbull puppy Cuda
The rallye wheels are worth a good price
I'm assuming these are the smaller 4-inch bolt pattern? Luckily, we had a spare tire/wheel off my dad's Valiant that bolted on the front.
@HotRodHoarder damn bolt pattern does look small didn't know they were different
@@HotRodHoarderI still have the small bolt on my 71 swinger factory on front 15x7 wheel vintyques on rear

Thanks for watching!
Nice find
Thanks for watching Tommy!
I should be watching, but I'm making tacos! I'll watch it later and listen now.
Nice, I could go for some tacos...
I had one of those with the same engine. Had an automatic stick on the center console. Paid $75 for it in 79 with a ratty exhaust. It sounded like a tank. lol
Nice! I was surprised the exhaust was still intact on this one. Actually sounded decent when we'd force the carburetor to idle.
Hey that’s my car I owed it back in the 80s
Pretty nice for the money paid. Hope the new owner fixes it up. These are getting harder to find.
Be very careful with the back window glass, I believe they're just about irreplaceable!!!
Yeah, I'd say there aren't many of them out there.
I bet that rear window is extremely expensive.

That back window is worth $400.00. Could turn it into a Richard Petty drag car
It would've been a great one to make into a Richard Petty A/FX match racer. Why didn't I think of that?
I would think the rear window is worth more that that!
Probably so! I'm sure we sold it too cheap, but we made a few bucks and had some fun, so that's all that matters I guess.
Those rear windows are $1500 to $2000!
Gonna be a parts car?
Yep, unfortunately, the engine was used for another project. The car has already been sold again (without the engine).
Its a Turkey 😂
That was my favorite moment, for sure!
Put in a 360 and call it done
It's definitely begging for a V8, but that slant 6 sure ran nice and smooth!
And just think, if Plymouth would have designed those rear wheel wells a little bit better we would have had fish cars instead of pony cars.
