Mike please have jimbo on more often, he’s one of the most knowledgeable bfs guys around. It’s genuinely so nice to see one of the old guard like yourself branching out into the BFS world. BFS and Tenkara are the only way I fish now, they’re so addicting! Makes every fish a monster!

Nice to see Jimmy on your channel I have been following him for years. It took me awhile to come around to BFS fishing. I realized the majority of the time I fish it is for river Smallmouth Bass and finesse lures. I love baitcasters so I bought a BFS reel. I can say you haven’t fished until you catch a Smallmouth Bass in river current on a beetle spin cast on a light action BFS setup!

I've been using 15 lbs braided line has been money no back lashes yet. This BFS has been my go to for trout fishing and for Bass fishing. I started to Bass fishing last year and started to watch IKE video to learn how to Bass fish. Thank you for your advice.

I’ve been using bfs now for 2 years using Shimano curado bfs diawa 70 bfs and lews pro sp all with 7# fluorocarbon and dobyns Sierra and cashion bfs rods. Mainly smallies and largemouth up to 4.5# . Even caught musky up to 35” when they got hooked in the lip. Absolutely love bfs cause I don’t care to use spinning rods even for panfish. Bfs allows me to cast 1/32-3/16oz baits and I even pull good bass out of cover by just setting the hook good and then keeping steady pressure on them and they usually end up swimming out to open water. Thank you Mike!

I highly suggest buying and modding a vintage Abu ambassadeur 1500 into a bfs reel, you’ll never go back after that experience, it’s so fulfilling. Plus you might have enough sway at the company to convince Abu to reissue them!

If you really want to have fun pick up era and raptor glide, shamano bt 99, and kurashi. Fish schooling bass that are locked in on tiny shad. It's so crazy bringing in 4 to 7lb bass on these tiny sertups. While everyone else is unable to get bites on bigger baits.

My rule of thumb when it comes to using BFS tackles is ; fishing lure weight under 10g (1/4oz) and anything heavier than that is pointless.
