Hi Marc. I have been struggling to sign up for the trial membership. I keep refreshing the page, but to no avail :( I don't know if anyone else is having the same problem. I would really like to join.
Hello Marc, quick question concerning the latency of CSS. I know the manual says -60ms for shorts and up to a quarter of a second for legato. How do you deal with this? Do you play ahead of the beat? Or do you have track delay offsets while using quantize? Or some other work around? Thank you or anyone in advance for answering this. Your content is grade A I appreciate your time very much :}
He uses track delays and works on the grid mostly. For playing it in live you do have to play ahead of the beat, but you get used to it fairly quickly. I think fast legato speed in CSS is around -150 and medium speed is around -250?. I may have mixed them up between legato modes, as expressive mode adds a 3rd "slow" speed around -333. That's in the low latency legato mode. Check out the negative delay database on VI Control forums, not totally accurate but a lot are and it's a good starting point. What DAW do you use? That will play a part in your ability to use track delays.
@@acidhendrix thanks! I use logic, so track delay isn't an issue. What usually happens is that I play ahead to hear it more on time, but it is inconsistent. When I quantize most of the notes fall a 16th ahead. I then get caught up in correcting them, and then have to decide on correct predelay :( for me this takes the wind out of my sails creatively and makes me reach for my vsl strings
@Scott Foster If theyre a 16th ahead after quantizing it really should only be 1 or 2 key commands to slide or nudge them all forward by a 16th. Or what I do, slide them all close to the beat before quantize and they should lock right in. Or change your quantize settings to a different division like 1/8ths if your line doesn't have actual 16th notes.
Could you send me the link of the kontakt library you used for the strings? Also could you tell me which is the best library for horns in your opinion?
Let's go Marc! I'm a big fan and supporter! 16-year-old aspiring composer.
Excellent introduction with those great classic guides - bravissimo!
Thanks for making this basic series, for newbie composer like me
Moin Marc. What EQ-setting do you recommend for the violins usw?
What kind of cc controller are you using good sir?
Marcato legato is sick! This vst is top notch easily among Orchestral Tools and Cinesamples.Probably better than East West and Spitfire.
Could you do a deep dive on Combining Marcato/Legato and what/where Marcato is exactly if you are using it by itself?
Excellent
"Sfz" stands for "Sforzando" (not "sforchato). 😊

Yep I’m experiencing the same thing
What plug in are you using for the instruments?
KONTAKT Player, with Cinematic Studio Strings Module.
Marc-ato

Hola Marc, creo que se escribe "whole step" 😉

It's Cinematic Studio Strings!
What program are you using?
I think the program is called Momentum, and the DAW is Cubase.
@@SheldonTam Thanks for getting back to me.

It's called sforzando not sforzato
