Thanks for the video. I made a banana mead a few years ago and it disappeared after 8 months of finalizing. Had a small family party. 2 gallons gone, no one drove home.
Hey man! This recipe looks great! I actually started a Bannana Blonde ale this past weekend. I mashed ten pounds of bananas and put em straight in primary. So far its made my apartment smell great so I think we're off to a good start!
I’ve got 2 banana wines going; one with fresh banana, sugar, going for a light summer sipper. The second is caramamelized bananas, brown sugar, and a couple vanilla bean pieces, shooting for a warmer heavier, banana breadish winter dipper. I’m probably going to use your graham cracker truck for this as well, black walnut extract, and maybe a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg when it goes to secondary. I’ve got 6 gallons of each going, so I can try a couple of variations to see which one is best. I’ve also got 50-60 lbs working to make a banana brandy… maybe a couple of the above then fortified? Excited to see this bc I definitely want to try a banana mead as well.
Was this video before or after your banana cream pie video? My above comment about the graham crackers was borrowed from the pie recipe. I’m fascinated by the idea! I’m loving your work and appreciate all your education and entertainment!
Try again with the banana in secondary. That is where I have experienced the best results with bananas. Just rough racked a clover/QA23 to secondary. Will have to wait a few days for my bananas to ripen. Then they are going in.
SOooooo!, no tannins or petic enzymes? Or citric acid for pop? Not judging, just curious as we are trying out a few different recipes and adding my own twist
I know you like to explore different recipes. Check out Citysteading brews and more. They have a banana mead and it sounds good. I haven't tried it yet but I'd like to. They have tons of videos you might like as well. I've already suggested you to them before too.

Sounds like a successful mead!!
Now I want to try to make a banana, cinnamon hydromel. I've always love those two flavors together

I think I may give this one a go, and sweeten with some lactose and see if I can get the echoes of a banana milkshake going with it.
Ooh, that sounds great!!
I'm doing something similar, going for more of a banana pudding with some vanilla wafers and lactose

My Banana mead experience was not a good one. I did Banana in primary, think that was my mistake. I am very tempted to do it again like always thanks.

@@martharetallick204 sounds like a solid idea thanks
You should definitely try it again and put them into the secondary!

I didn't feel like these need that, but that doesn't mean that someone else wouldn't!
Add a scoop of ice cream for an adult banana float!
What is the difference for this if you dont want to carbonade it? 🙂
