How to set default Printer in Chrome

Introduction:
In this tutorial you will learn how to set default printer in chrome so you can easily and quickly print documents from within the browser.
Step # 1 -- Opening the Print Dialog Box
Start Google Chrome. In the top right hand corner of the browser you will notice an icon with three vertical lines, this is Chromes settings icon, click it. From here, click on the "Print..." option in the menu.
Step # 2 -- Open Further Print Options
This will open the "Print" window. On the left is an area with all the print settings. Scroll down to the bottom of this frame and click on the "Print using system dialog..." link. This will open another window called "Print".
Step # 3 -- Choosing a New Printer
This window will have all the printers that are available for your machine to use. Locate the printer that you want to set as default and right click on it, here we are making "Epson Stylus Photo R200" the default. Click the "Set as Default Printer" option. Click "Apply" then "Cancel" and that is how to set default printer in chrome.
Step # 4 -- Using the Default Printer
Unfortunately it is a known bug in Chrome that it won't default to this new printer in the standard print window. In order to print from the new default printer you need to click on the "Print using system dialog..." link we used earlier. From here you can see that it has chosen the default printer as we wanted. Simply click "Print" when you want to use this default printer.

Thanks for the video - just to update you; if you select the correct printer in the chrome printer dialog area and print a page, it will remember and always use that printer as default until you print to a different one -

When I scroll to the bottom I don't have the "Print using system dialog ..(Ctrl+Shift+P) option showing.

I can confirm that the notion that Chrome has a default printer is an urban myth. I have not been able to use Chromium to print any document and therefore only use Internet Explorer. Until Chromium decides to modernize and fix this, they have no proof that they are compatible with 2016 browsers who have no problems with printing features. Lots of software developers are fascinated with the idea of keeping their customers stuck in the Stone Age, thinking this will raise the value of their product, when it does not. Until I become able to print using Chrome, all I will see will be printing features Chrome installed but never put into operation so others could use them. I can right click on documents in Chrome and see the print option but never use it until their Stone Age problem is fixed. Until the Chrome Team realizes that we are not living in Flintstones times and fixes this issue, I would advise them to do something else than working with software. I would also advise copyright fundamentalists to stop obsessing themselves with software anymore, and leave that up to people who understand what software engineering is all about.

why would documents default to another printer rather than my default printer. I have documents that i want to print that show another printer as the default but all my background applications are set to a different printer.

When selecting your destination...select more...new box appears, select desired destination and press manage option...done!!

Thank you, CP3O - but those lines for the menu access are HORIZONTAL.

This is not the solution at all. The dialog option only comes up if you already have a printer selected and then even if you do see that option and set it, it just reverts back to "save as file" as the default printer as soon as you open a new window or restart the browser.
This just opens the windows printer settings where you will see your printer is already set as default, so it has nothing to do with setting the printer for chrome. So why is this being presented as a solution?
