I'd appreciate a thumbs up 👍 if you liked this and you can see one of my videos on propagating Blackberries here : ruclips.net/video/pXn0PTn-sHI/видео.html Links to these grow bags in my description. Thanks!
We only have a small suburban garden and do the majority of our gardening in grow bags. We have done the same thing and got a thornless blackberry and put it in a bag.
G'day Trina. It's nice to meet you. That sounds great and I hope it does well for you. I recently made jam from the last of this last season's frozen blackberries and I'll have that video up in the coming weeks. I have room here Trina, but I love growing in grow bags and have quite a few going at the moment. They are a great idea for renters and people who travel and perfect for people with small spaces to grow in. Sorry, I'm rambling. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment Trina. All the best. Daz.
Such a great video! The part where we didn’t see you picking berries felt fun and all of the information was exactly what I was looking for! Thank you for making it fun 🤩.
G'day! I'm so happy to see that you enjoyed the video and thanks so much for watching and taking the time to leave your wonderful comment. I do apologise for the late reply. All the best. Daz.
What an awesome video. It sure looks nice Rick be in the middle of winter. I did not know that you had to wait two years for the blackberries. Thank you for the info. Awesome video
This is a great video Daz! I love the variety you're using. Your method of propagating the blackberries is brilliant! I'll look for this variety as we start our orchard. Cheers!
thanks for sharing - this is exactly what i needed to see today. Blackberries are definitely on my list for my next purchase and additions to my container gardening.
Love blackberries. Can’t wait to purchase a plant for next season. We have a raspberry plant so far and love it. I will be reviewing your raspberry videos again so that we are doing everything right with it. I have a bed exposed to the south which I want to clear out for next year. I think the berry bushes will flourish there.
G'day Linda. Thanks very much. I'm really trying to get back into things properly from this week. Yes, blackberries are just great and a non invasive variety without thorns ticks all the boxes for me. Thanks very much. Daz.
Great info Daz and really interesting, I'm going to check out Bunnings for some of these. Yesterday, I prunned and repotted my bullet chili peppers, hopefully this is the right time to do this. I have a rose and fruit fertilizer that I use for this... Nice video there as always. 👍
G'day Neil. Yes, a big fan of this variety. Funny, as I grew up watching my father and grandfather curse about blackberries as they were a massive pest on the farm back in the day. Thanks very much mate. Daz.
Hey hey Daz 🤗 Man I’ve missed ur videos , u always teach me so much . We’re heading off grid for spring so I am seed saving n planning on re rooting at the new property . Thank u for sharing ur knowledge, experience n ur love my friend 😊
G'day. Will you be doing an update soon on your plans and situation? Ah, Spring... I am about 5-6 weeks away from it here. Such a good time in the garden and orchard. Thanks very much for those kind words. All the best. Daz.
Another great video Daz, I set up a thornless blackberry myself at the start of winter. I used a 100 Litre half barrel. I also love using sugar cane mulch for everything.
G'day Deborah. Thanks very much. I just love eating these berries and it's so much fun to take cuttings and grow them for free. I hope all is well and take care. Daz.
I needed this information. I have a thornless blackberry that I’d love to propagate. I’ll catch the other video too. I loathe my raspberry bush. It doesn’t produce heavy berries and the suckers are all over the place. I’m actually thinking about pulling them and replacing with thornless blackberries. But I need more than one bush.
THX Good timing Daz i just got given a small blackberry plant....so great information for me coz ive only ever had the massive wild bush ones on properties ive had and never did anything with them just picked em.
Hey Daz great info! I’ve been looking into blackberries and they say Illini Hardy is best for my zone but can’t find it anywhere. Apparently nurseries afraid to sell to my zone because of the climate. Have you heard that blackberries and raspberries should not be planted together due to a fungus?
G'day Lisa. Yes! I read years ago that they cannot be grown together or near each other due to something like that. I'm certain it is "a thing". I think I mention it in one of my first raspberry videos. It must be frustrating with your climate impacting what you can grow and I really must remember how fortunate I am here. Can you maybe ask on Facebook or Instagram if anyone in your area has plants or cuttings and go from there? Take care. Daz.
