The Jayda InStitches Show 2014
I made several of these and hung them in my front window with some crocheted pumpkins as a bunting!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I know it's from the earlier days, but I'm still benefiting from it now. 🎃
Hi Matilda! That sounds like such a cute bunting! Thank you for watching :)
Lovelovelove this little ghost! I crochet hats for the babies in the NICU at the pediatric hospital where I volunteer. When the calendar suggests a theme, I am all OVER it for these tiny hats - parents and nurses love them! This ghost (which I will figure out how to make a bit smaller) along with a pumpkin pattern I found will be perfect to applique to my teeny beenies! Thank you so much!
Hi Anne, what a sweet little addition for the Halloween babies! I recommend using a small 2.5 mm or 3.0mm hook and a fine weight yarn (like a size 2) :) That should make it small enough for those tiny little hats! Thank you for watching :)
I'm going to make a scarf with this in one end and a little pacman on the other side!
did you end up making it? if not, i’m your sign to start up again 😋🥰🤍
I added two to a Halloween baby blanket I made since my son was just born Sunday the 16th. the whole blanket I learned from you, thank you so much
Hi Whitney! What a great idea for a blanket! And congratulations!!

Hi ScrapChica! Welcome to the Crafty Family:) And thank you for watching!
Those ghosts are very cute and also reminds me of the ghosts in the arcade game "pacman".
Glad I found this video.
Absolutely!

+Maria Alcantara "all aboard!!" :)
+Jayda InStitches awesome. lol I made one of these for my boyfriend and he loved it. ^w^

Hi Adriana! Thank you for watching 😊
You make the cutest videos ever !!!
Thank you so much 😊
Making these tomorrow to go around a black beanie. They will be the perfect touch. May have to go find the glow in the dark yarn first. That sounds like fun.
+anne Duncan Ohmygosh, Glow In The Dark Ghosties on a Black Beanie!! Super cool idea, would love to see a picture when you're finished :)
Any idea where I can get the glow in the dark yarn or is it something I have to order?
Where can I post pictures at for you to see?
EPIC fail!! It looks like a Christmas bell. Not sure what I did wrong at the bottom. Gonna have to try again tomorrow when I am not tired.
Hi Anne! I have seen glow in the dark yarn for sale at Michael's craft store. You can post pictures to me here on Google+ (just tag my user name by using the @ symbol in front of it) and I think giving this another whirl (when less tired!) is a super idea...just take out the border and bottom row and try it again :) And if it helps any, think about the shape you want to achieve and worry less about the precise stitches ;)
Hehe I love your personality! You'd be an awesome friend to have !
Hi Natalie! We like to have fun around here :) Thank you for watching!
Thank you Jayda! They were the perfect little ghosties for the pockets of my Halloween Cardigan!
I'm so glad!
I'm adding a little loop to the top and using them to make a Halloween garland with pumpkins and spiders
A ghosty garland! I love it! :)
pauline hooper

Hi Jacquie! That is such great news :) I'm super pleased that I could be helpful! Thank you for the kind words 😊
Wow!!! That's so cute. I'm going to make some Halloween decorations to put around my house so my little sister can see it!! I love this tutorial. 👻😉👌👍
Hi Rosalinda! Thank you for watching😊 How little is your sister? You could hide them in places she often goes and really delight her! lol
My little sister is five years old😃 That's a good idea. I'm going to try and do that. Thanks!!
for October you could make a black hat and add a border off ghost to the bottom
I made a ghost family too
Love these! Thank you!🎃
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching 😊
so cute 😍
good work enjoyed it
Awesome love watching your videos
Thanks Abby! Thank you so much for watching :)
Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for watching :)
enhancing your pattern a lil.... making a ghost dishcloth 👻
*using cotton yarn*
Adorable idea!!
Mine looks really good thx
This was awesome, thank you! I've made 4, although they turned out a lot smaller than your ones - I think my hook is too small. It's 4.5!
+Nadene Ryan Yes, that's a smaller hook than the one I use, but I bet your ghosties are adorable!! If you want them to be bigger, you can use thicker yarn and a thicker hook and follow the same pattern :)
+Jayda InStitches they are so cute, thanks Jayda. I'll try that:)
I'm sure u could go longer if chosen
Hello! I’m trying to make these for a craft fair, just currious, will a 10mm hook work? I love your videos, appreciate your work!
Hi! That's a really big hook. If you're using a smooth, extra super bulky weight size 7 yarn, then possibly, but they will also be very big 😊
They look like little PAC-Man ghost. Change up the color and make a lot and you could put them on a square and have a cute blanket
Hi Tifini Pea! Totally! The eyes are a little different too, black with white centres :) Now, how do we swing a Pac Man....hmmm
This is super cute and I'm going to make these for Halloween :)
Thanks Jennifer! I've made a few now...and I just had a thought. ..can we get glow in the dark yarn? Wouldn't that be cool?!
Jayda InStitches Yes that would really cool and I saw a new yarn called red heart reflective yarn and it glows at night
!?! I think I had better schedule a trip to Michaels! !
I made a ghost and give him a personal touch by adding a hat
How cute!
Is there the written pattern somewhere?:)
Hi there, yes, we have a written pattern available in our Etsy Shop: jaydainstitches.etsy.com
Thank you for watching!
How did u do the little bow?
Hi! It's tiny: Ch 5, sc into the 2nd, 3rd, ,4th & 5th chs from the hook, fasten off and then wrap yarn tightly around the middle :)
Hey jayda. You said a 5.50 mm hook would work.. I have the same yarn but I'm having trouble with the size 9.
+William King Hi! Is the size 9 a hook?
U used a 5mm so its big, If i use a 3.75mm it would be smaller u think it wont to be to big to use for a toddlers head? I was thinking of putting an alligator clip for my daughters hair :D
Hi Marieluna, you might want to use a thinner yarn too (like a size 3 yarn) with the 3.75m hook and it will definitely be smaller :)
Jayda InStitches awesome! Thanks for the info ☺
Do I need to single crochet around the ghost, because don't take it the wrong way but I find it a lot less quicker to single crochet around the ghost
Please reply back thank you
Tinker Bell Hi Tinker Bell, if you like the look of your crocheted ghost without the border, you can skip it! I love the finishing look that the sc outline gives it, but, you can do whatever you want :)
thank you
hola no lo puedes traducir al español xf
Hi Laura, as soon as we have access to auto-translation software from Google, we will make sure it's turned on! Thank you for watching 😊
😍😍😍😍😍😍
Anyone have a written pattern?
Hi Kade, this written pattern is available in our Etsy Shop: www.etsy.com/ca/shop/JaydaInStitches
Thank you for your support of our show!
Can u make a snapchat ghost plz
Thank you for the suggestion :)
How do you make the bow?
Hi Tali, for a tiny little crochet bow, chain 6, dc into the 3rd ch from the hook and each ch across (4 dc), fasten off and leave a long tail. Weave it back 2 sts to the middle of the piece (top or bottom of row, doesn't matter) then wrap it tightly around the middle several times. Knot the tail. You can use it to sew the bow to your little Ghost :)
how can I make this smaller?
+teri wolfe Hi Teri, try thin yarn and a much smaller hook and it should come out much smaller :)
Thank you so much. I love your tutorials 😊
