  • BMW redesigned its entry level BMW X1 SUV, making it longer, wider and taller, great for families, drivers who need more cargo space and room for the fur babies. But they didn't stop there; they filled it with standard luxuries and top tech, options for features typically only seen in much more expensive cars, and technology that is also available in the brand's top tier cars.
    We checked out all the new tech, the rear seat, new design details and more. And we were impressed.
    The X1 Details:
    -4 cylinder twin turbo engine
    -241 horsepower 295 torque
    -X Drive all wheel drive is standard
    -Standard curved center display, iDrive 8 and "Hey BMW" voice assist
    -Options include head up display, augmented reality navigation and panoramic sunroof
    -Available in M Sport and X Line
    -Base price $38,600
    -Price of our test model about $46,000

    Great through review, and cute purse.
    I’m looking for a small suv and was researching the used 2017 X1’s & X3’s but leaning towards the X3’s because I am planning to do some cross country travel. I’m now tempted to hold out for a new 2023. 😮
    Is the 2023 X1 now the new X3?

    I love the review. Being a man, not everyone are motor heads ((or finding which store dad left me for 20 years ago or be in cop's case) who love to go 500mph and smash our cars (LOL)).
    Unless on a highway, most places are 35mph speed limit. I would love to know the comfort and features for a ME-the driver. I pay for it so it has to be my comfort, right?. Thank you.

    What safety mechanisms are in place for the shifter? I feel like I could hit that very easy.

    • @ysk249

      I don't see any safety mechanism at all. The driver or passenger could easily hit the shifter located on the armrest. Little kids wouldn't know that it's a shifter.

    Hello. I am on the market of purchasing a new car. How is the reliability of X1? I am cross shopping between a 2023 BMW X1, BMW 330i, MINI Cooper JCW, or Audi A3/A4.

      the Consumer Reports 2022 ranking of brands came out recently and BMW is ranked #3 (up from #13 for 2021) behind Toyota, Lexus, with Mazda being #4. Says the 3 and 4 series are above average in reliability. Mercedes-Benz came in last at #24 due to too many electrical problems...

    I have noticed in the driving segments of your reviews the sound quality degrades almost to the point of drowning out your commentary and making the road noise of the vehicle much worse than in real life. I have two of the vehicles you tested and I would not have bought them if they were anywhere as loud as they sound on your reviews. I am certain you need to upgrade your microphone as many other reviewers have done. Please consider doing so as your reviews are very well done, but degraded due to a very inexpensive upgrade in equipment.

    It would be too easy to mess around with the center console on the armrest. What if your kid in the passenger seat accidentally pushes the gear to reverse while driving on the highway?

    • @AGirlsGuide2Cars
      @AGirlsGuide2Cars  Год назад +1

      Interesting comment; with so many electronic transmissions in cars these days we'd have seen this if it were a risk, but it's not. A computerized transmission won't shift into reverse unless proper conditions are met... i.e. the car is stopped and your foot is on the brake. Though you can shift it into neutral while driving, which you'll know when you press the accelerator pedal and nothing happens.

    The only thing keeping me from purchasing one of these or the X3 is the lack of adaptive cruise control. Not even an option no matter the trim level, been that way for the past few years due to “shortages”. Ridiculous.

    • @dondonaldson1684
      @dondonaldson1684 Год назад +1

      The optional Driving Assistant Professional will be available for the first time on the BMW X1 soon after launch and offers new levels of comfort and safety on long-distance journeys. This camera- and radar-based system includes the Steering and Lane Control Assistant as well as Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go function. Corrective steering inputs help the driver to keep the vehicle in the lane detected by the system. Active Cruise Control is capable of not only maintaining the preferred speed, but also automatically keeping a safe distance from vehicles travelling ahead and can bring the new BMW X1 to a halt if necessary. And when driving in tedious, dense traffic, Extended Traffic Jam Assistant allows attentive, hands-free driving at speeds up to 70 km/h on limited access highways.
