Good to hear 3ABN is preaching this. My question though is where is our SDA Conference on this matter. Our church is not preaching this message in the fullness of it's capacity. Mortified Bruce it won’t be until they see the great fall of Babylon (the Vatican in Rome) the city on 7 hills, when they realize who God truly is. Remember what happened this year with the Catholic Churches in France? Could be next year when this happens. Who knows but it’ll happen for sure as it is described in Revelations.

Sorry, but by in large we look and behave just like the world around us. Today is Sunday, and a whole lot of SDA folks are tuning into football, basketball, hockey, maybe even the world series (unless its over now). Folks there is something missing from this sermon, food scarcity, look for it coming like a freight train, it has already begun but within the next two years, you had better grow your own or you are going to sell your soul to the devil to put food on your table. Get out of the city and grow your own. This is not a panic response it was God's method from the beginning.
Why are we doing this introduction of people’s history? We didn’t used to do this. I don’t like it church and don’t like it here. It makes us look at the credentials of men by saying this is the person’s resume and this is why we should listen and obey instead of making the scripture lead.
Your statement is not factual. I've been in the church for 30 years and I always remember guest speakers getting their vitae presented. Local pastors and elders don't but guest pastors and speakers always did. Even child speakers got introductions, basically anyone who was unfamiliar with the audience. It's important to supply their bonafides and establish credibility. Credibility is important to establish the veracity of the message. Of course you still go back and verify the sources, but it's not out of the ordinary.
John Carter I’m not a fan of you calling my statement “not factual” For 30 years that may be true for where you’re from but I’ve been to multiple countries, states and regions and this kind of intro is not widely done. Most places that do this type of intro more than anything read like a LinkedIn profile and not like a person that is working for God strictly reliant on God’s Graces. And if My statement is so entirely in factually base then the others that agreed with me must be living out my error as well. With that said, can we really speak to how God Lead a speaker will be by hearing their past occupation whether it be in the conference or corporate? How more spiritually familiar are we ? My issue with these kinds of intro is the misguided aim of thinking one is more qualified because of the status of their last or current professions. I’m sure you will agree as would everyone else here, that we wouldn’t be heartbroken if we heard an intro that goes “the speaker we will hear next is a man/woman of God. Let’s pray the Lord is with them as they deliver the Word.” Thanks John

I really just don't think it was that deep to impugn your character, it could be a simple oversight. I would also submit that the people who are in support of your statement are also similarly put off by this intro but it does not mean that it is not and has not been a regular occurrence in our churches for visiting or guest speakers. I do happen to think that some speakers are more qualified, but not because of their professional position rather because of their track record of disseminating sage advice from the Spirit of Prophecy. David Koresh and others were able to win people away from the fold because they were given the same level of credibility as other speakers. I've also traveled the world and been to 30+ countries in my time and attended thousands of crusades in Ghana, Togo, Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, DRC, Japan Barbados, Jamaica, Mexico, Several islands in the Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago. Not to mention across the continental United States and Hawaii (just last month). I cannot actually remember a time that a guest speaker did not have his credentials stated except for once in Uganda and it stood out to me because apparently the speaker was a child in the community and was returning to speak as a newly ordained missionary so his intro was something like "our beloved son has returned and he's not a prodigal" which was greeted with women trilling. Like I said, when the speaker is known it is very rarely done. When the speaker is unknown or at a large gathering of different churches, it is very often done on the first day of the event and if they have time then every time the guest delivers the word. It's very common. As a matter of fact, when I was ordained my bonafides was presented by my sister. So I guess you could say I have firsthand knowledge of this. I will say that I agree with you that I would not be heartbroken if I heard the intro you suggested. As a matter of fact, that is very common if the bio is presented in the bulletin or a few songs ahead. That sort of brief intro is very appropriate and is often heard when the speaker is local or returning. So yes, on that point I will say you have bested me. I would love to have all intros be thusly presented. Peace brother.
Adventist need to stop tithing the conference and start putting the means in the Lord's storehouse. Those that are preaching our distinct message.... which is the three Angel message, are the storehouse. The apostasy in the conference is only made possible by the truth haters in the church. well I couldn't watch very much of that, then I remembered why I don't believe the God they are talking about exists. Your beliefs are a contradiction in terms. Aren't you meant to be worshiping a loving being instead of spouting hatred about anyone who chooses a different way to live their lives. Your God would be / is ashamed of you.

If a serial killer was stalking you or children in your neighborhood,would it be "hateful" to warn people about his aims/goals or objectives?...well GOD warns people about this system in the scriptures & tells his people to warn them of their danger,he says "come out of her my people,that you do not practice her sins,& receive not of her plagues..." GOD doesnt want people to be lost so he is calling people out of babylon...

Its a message of Love and the character of God ..
