I was in Charlie Co 83-85. In 85 I married a soldier from Alpha Co, Sp 4 Russell Botkin, We were married ten years when Russell died from a rare form of Leukemia. And me, I spend alot of time at the beach listening to music like this . Watching this makes me happy and sad at same time. I hope everyone from the 123rd found happiness. You deserve it..
That's kinda sad to see all the bases close. My dad was stationed in würzburg in the early 80s he met my mom in würzburg. I grow up there for 25 before I moved to Texas. So many memories and good times. Unfortunately all the bases in that area and surrounding are closed. Kitztingen Schweinfurt bamberg heilbronn Heidelberg wildflecken gieblstatd hanau aschaffenburg Manheim and this are just the once were my dad and some of his cousins was stationed they all gone
I did alot of growing up there. I was there 86-88. C Company. Fred Lusk. Lots of good times with people from all over the US. Capt Mueller was my CO. SSG Harvin , SSG Ravelo, SFC Fuji. Lots of good people.
I was stationed here from 1974-76... A Co. I wouldn't change the experience for anything. Wish I could remember the names of all the people I served with.
Thank you so much - brings back many memories. I think I recognize the guy in the dress blues early on in the video, but can't recall his name. Also - there is a shot of a yellow smashed vehicle on display. I'm wondering if that was the yellow van pulled from the river when one of the 123rd's cooks was killed and dumped in the river - local drug dealings gone bad. I was there in HQ S-1 Feb'77 - Dec'80.
I believe your talking about 1st Sgt Tommy Minnick of C Company. And you are correct about the van. Minnick has past now. I was there 79-81 in C Company.
I (SGT Perdue) & Sp 4 Diane Perdue(wife) was there between late "75"-Sept. "78" We were both in C Co. and then A Co. during this time many good memories.
I read yesterday that many of the buildings were abandoned or demolished in 1990? Is that so? I have pics of when I was over there. I was young and stupid and did not realize how close I was to so many kewl places. Now I am old and stupid.
Ha yep I was there 76/79 brings back lots of memories. Now a Hollywood screenwriter. I still remember most of the people that are in this short video. I’ve been back to Germany, lived in England and in France for many years. I was just recently in Würzburg Last year I still love that city. I’m on Instagram at robin_hoodson
