My son is still learning how to read (Kinder) but he knows how to send voice messages on his ipad does the voice message on the Gabb watch work really good seeming that it will be one of the only ways i communicate with him other than calling
The voice message function works very well on the Gabb watch. My son usually prefers to send me a recorded voice message because he can say everything he needs to at once.
Hi. I have a seven year old. Tried the Apple Watch this new school year. It has a school mode that he can easily get out of and ultimately got him in trouble cuz it’s distracting at school. When you say sos mode. What exactly does the child do to get in that mode ? Is it easy ? Can they go into sos mode as much as they want ?
The Gabb Watch 3 is out now, we just bought our son one (he's 12 and doesn't want a phone). They are allowed to call/text guardians even in school mode. This is huge to me because I don't want him playing with it at school but I want him to be able to get ahold of me and vice versa....it's the whole reason I wanted the watch! They simply press the SOS button on the side of the watch for 4 seconds and it will open up the guardian contact(s) and let them call/text. And if I call/text him it will go through. Or you can just turn off school mode remotely to send them a message, wait for the reply and then turn it back on. :)

The watch is $14.99 per month plus tax to keep the watch activated with service. That is one of the cheapest plans you can get of any similar products. The service is through Gabb Wireless and includes a Gabb SIM card. You can either buy the watch without a contract at full retail or get a 10%-20$ discount on the watch with a 1 or 2 year contract.
The gabb watch 1 had a connector charger with pins and the phones won't charge after a few days because of dirt and gunk. I have to use alcohol and little cue tips twice or three times a week or so just so they charge. How does it charge?
Gabb must have improved the charger because we have never had a problem charging our Gabb Watch 2. It's still a connector charger, but my boy is pretty rough on things and likes to get dirty and his watch has always charged just fine.
HI I have a question that has been hard to find and I would be so happy if you could answer this for me. You mentioned the text from your child comes through as text. Can you just text back or do you have to use the app? Also do the approved contacts need to download the gabb app to call or text the watch? Or will my child be able to call and text his contacts without the use of everyone having the app? I am trying to find a watch that allows him to freely text and call his best friend who isn't near us but it seems a lot of the watches available for kids restrict communication through the apps.
Rachel, these are good questions. It looks like you found the answers. As the parent, you just send back a regular text to respond to the watch. Approved contacts do not need to download the app--another thing that makes this our favorite kid safe watch!
It is water resistant, but not water proof. It is fine if it gets splashed on when washing hands or if walking in the rain, but it should not be submerged.
