My orthodontist's son went to junior prom with Anne Hathaway and he kept a framed picture in the office waiting room lol
HAHA SERIOUSLY
Pls bring more guests of color on the show!!
I SCREAMED CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
When I tell you I GASPED when Kendahl said she got engaged. CONGRATULATIONS! Ah that's so exciting!!
I have two coworkers one is early 20s the other nearing 40s. Both homeschooled and they are the smartest individuals I’ve met, like robots lol ….social skills though 0/10 lol
Congratulations Kendahl!!! 🎉🎉
guys i don't know if you can but i need photos of things you guys talk about... like i don't remember half the people you were talking about or incidents.
12:48 if feel so bad about balding people because I can’t recognize faces well, so sometimes I can’t recognize bald people I don’t know well/see frequently 😭 and it’s like “I don’t care you’re bald, my brain is just broken!”
I am requesting that you put what you are looking at on the middle monitor ❤😊
They did fine treasure at the end of Holes (😐💀 lmao) Zero did when they were covered in lizards
Renee Rapp had all of Boston hating her for her sign for her album. Plus she just said she was ageist towards Millennial women on tv. She also just exudes body confidence which makes some men hate her
I’ve actually heard that Harry Styles actually does stink a bit… 😅 from MULTIPLE people 😂
I've heard the balding gene is through the mom's dad.
Holy shit can you time stamp when you actually start talking about to the topic
I was homeschooled and learned to read independently at 4, now I'm 22 and I can't do math
THIS IS ME! lol expect no home schooling (I WISH!!) my parents expected me to be able to do everything myself bc I taught myself to read 😅
lol same, except I’m 33. I can’t do algebra but I sure can read fast.
"Literacy is a prison, much like fins" i need this on a bumper sticker
soldiers have you seen Bottoms
AHHHHHHH CONGRATS KENDAHL!!!!!
Amazing podcast always! But question: how come you two don't do the hilarious skits with the "guests" anymore?? It was one of my favorites watching lol. Keep up the great work yall.
Former homeschool kid here. There was a really sharp divide in us kids. There were almost no average students.
I loved homeschool. Without having to wait for my classmates to ask questions and finish their work I could do a week's worth of regular school in a day and a half maximum. Then I had the rest of the week to hyperfixate on projects and study my special interest. My brother on the other hand was an average (at best) student at our private school with small class sizes. Sitting at a table in a messy lounge with the tv on being "taught" by my uneducated mother while she looked after a toddler was an academic death sentence. She eventually got me taking time to teach him every day, I really wanted to do what I could to help my brother but it was a lot of responsibility for a 10 year old.
There are kids who thrive in homeschool and there are kids who suffer. There didn't seem to be many in-between.
If Lea Michele could read she’d be in the comments defending herself but 🤷🏻♀️
To Adam Sandler’s credit- as someone who also grew up in Manchester NH, literally ANY movie set would feel like a vacation 🤣😭 He also dresses EXACTLY LIKE every middle aged straight man from said Manchester NH. He has fully committed to the bit, and we love him for it 👏🏼
The Winnie the Pooh conspiracy I really believe cause children’s cartoon always have a higher moral that adults understand, Pooh’s mental illness is addiction I think and I think that theory is so cool
I feel like I read a quote from Adam Sandler saying exactly that; he makes movies to hang out with his friends in beautiful resorts lmao
Okay how the HELL does Sarah not know who Dick Van Dyke is??? Mary Poppins? Chitty Chitty Bang Bang? Night At The Museum? He’s like an OG
She's prob seen some of those but not everyone would recognize the name unless you're particularly interested in older comedy tv and movies
Omg Congratulations Kendahl!!! 🥹💞💞💞
Micheal Cera def got the y/n treatment of being picked out on the street by a studio executive to be in a blockbuster film
I was homeschooled during middle school, but went to a christian co-op. really all I remember from that is algebra, basic biology, and a few former friends that caused me to download the "I am sober" app😭
this was one of my fave episodes yet!! i also want to hear more comments from jake lol
Congratulations Kendahl!!
Re: Winnie the Pooh conspiracy, there’s also a common thread of redditors and other internet people coming up with really dark theories/backstories/lore for positive shows. It’s happened with Bluey, Bobs Burgers to name a couple.
Just want to give a shoutout to Jake, their little commentary quips on the research is such a cherry on the massive sundae of this show.
Congrats Kendahl!! 🎉🎉
my movie was the wizards of waverly place movie lmao
Congrats Kendahl! Exciting!
About the Vyvanse shortage: my doctor told me to try larger stores & pharmacies like Costco/Sam's club etc. CVS and Walgreens are less likely to have it. Going to bigger places worked for me! ❤️ It's rough out there, good luck
1) as a queer person, the original mean girls movie always rubbed me the wrong way with its blatant homophobia that “was just a product of its time” . The new mean girls musical movie actively embraces the queer community so I found it a lot more palatable. 2) Lea Michelle recently went on a press tour of reading children’s books to kids at libraries to prove she’s not illiterate but the internet was not convinced that she hadn’t just memorized the books going in. 3) 39:40 Chris Evans has been pictured signing a b*mb that was being sent by the us military to isr*al so I would not trust him for even a moment
i’m homeschooled (junior year rn) i learned to read at like 4, excelled in my schoolwork until middle school and it’s been a struggle since LOL gifted kid syndrome lemme tell you. but some homeschooled kids are crazy smart, however most of us, we’re pretty average 😭
BROOOOO Ive never heard anyone else also fall asleep to Just Go With It. Ive watched/ listened to that movie a hella a lotta times gang or Id have it on in the background while doing whatever else.
I go through phases of watching some of his movies. Its easier to watch new movies with his stuff cause they're predictable and normally with the same cast so it doesn't stress me out. But def Just Go With It, even with its nonsense, I still like man, its like a safe movie, like with safe foods you can have the same thing over and over and then one day you're like what and then move onto something else (movie wise probs Pitch Perfect).
KENDAHL ENGAGED LETS GO
How is this how im finding out jenny slate and chris evans dated?!?! My mind is blown
They made such a cute couple
Hearing someone else talk about making notes in books like that and reading medical journals and being annoyed by having to look up so many words...I feel so seen
awww congrats kendahl!!! 🥹🥹
Your episode of Dirty Laundry came out today! Loved it so much, so funny and you both looked so great 🤩
Where did you stream it? I can't find it anywhere 😭
@@justcadence4693 it’s on a streaming service on dropout!
@@justcadence4693It’s on Dropout!
I would argue that The SpongeBob Movie with David Hasselhoff IS a cult classic 😅 haha idk how many Halloween costumes I’ve seen based off that movie alone.
My dad took my brother and I to go see that movie and passed out in the theater, he has sleep apnea and snored louder than the movie
@@madisonweber2480 HA! That’s SUCH Dad behavior
Can we get a Ryan Murphy deep dive???
kendahl starting the rumour jojo siwa cant read
JUST GO WITH IT REPRESENTATION🗣️🗣️ i love that movie unironically and i also feel like no one has watched it
even though i don't wanna get married (😂😂 but i sure think about it a lot) but if i did i would actually love to be proposed to with an empty ring box like "be my person forever officially and let's go pick out the rings"
24:39 i believe it was brooke shields? but i could be wrong. but i know many young actors and actresses have talked about studios pushing their family to have them emancipated along with home schooled so they could work more hours as minors. but also many of the dance moms girls talked about while being on dance moms (i know for sure when they moved to LA but i think in pittsburg too) they had a teacher to teach the girls on set
I went to see The Waitress in theatre (it was fucking amazing) and even the ads for Mean Girls before the movie had no music in it. So weird. We had no idea why it was a thing.
I love Cultish!! I had a Linguistics class and we had to read that book. It was very interesting.
That is absolutely the worst description of holes, but i loved it
congrats kendahl also they did find the treasure in holes
I also got engaged on Christmas!!
your fiancé ooooo🥰
I love this topic tooooo
3:30 yes I find her very unlikable for some reason and I’m not rly sure why
So I was homeschooled from 2nd grade to 8th grade. Unlike Lea(allegedly) I can read, but my mom sucked at math, so now I suck at math. Also she just got really lazy about my sibling and I’s education a few years in. My sibling and I both hated it and begged to go back to public school, our parents finally let us go for high school. By then it was so stressful because we had no idea how to do anything. Despite that, we’re both doing pretty well for ourselves now. As you’d probably expect we’re both low/no contact with our parents 🤝
I do have a lot of random knowledge about more “hobby” based stuff though, because that’s what I studied and read about as a kid. But I can’t do multiplication or division 🥲
Amanda Montell is the author for Cultish. I spedran it and really enjoy her podcast Sounds like a cult. Alot of overlap.
For Sarah in particular, there're two episodes on 12 step programs and a couple on religion. I'd love to see you on the pod.
