    Finally I have found a video on making stamps that doesn’t need a 3 D printer and a $$$$$$ laser!
    Struggling to get my head around so many DIY craft videos that need you to buy tools that cost 1000 times more than the item you are trying to make. Fine for mass production, but odd for home crafts…..

    This video makes me SO happy. I'm just starting leather stamping and already find that I mostly need the stamp that I don't have. There's a limit to how much I want to spend until I find out if I'll want to do this long-term.

    When I saw the title, and not the thumbnail, I thought you were making stamps out of leather. I was very confused. This makes way more sense. Great quick video.

      😅 I was wondering if it would be construed that way. Sorry for the confusion and thanks for watching!

      Thanks! These really are easy to make. Both together only took me about 45 minutes. Unless tou are lookinh to stamp a particular "image" style design, I don't see why you wouldn't just try to make them first. Thanks for watching!

    This looks like a fun and simple starting project. Question though, anybody have ideas on how to create the backgrounder texture without a dremel? Because I don't have one, and the only other idea I have right now is smacking the nail head with a ball peen after smoothing it. I suppose I could try a crosshatch type effect with files but I don't think it would be as universal.

    Could you use a punch to put holes in the background stamp,then polish it? My Dremel died,lol.

    • @SkillTree
      @SkillTree  3 года назад +1

      Possibly! Worth a shot. The punch should be hardened more than the spike. May be hard going though. Do you have a drill? Could use it in place of a dremel.

      @@SkillTree so this campaign is the one I made for my family, they’ve never played it before but they seem to be enjoying it… the story is about these 6 adventures going on a quest to find 5 dragon items that are a part of a prophecy [these items are known as the 5 powers of Tiamat] and they only got this information from one of our players who has the Sage background.
      What has happened so far is that these adventures went to find a king who said that he would pay the ones who would unlock his treasury, the king said that he hired someone known as the Clockmaker to design the lock to it… the only clue they was a letter with a riddle on it, this riddle’s answer was fire and when they held it near a heat source they found a secret message in the later… however it was a warning saying that the man who sits on the throne was the King’s brother and the Actual king is dead while his son was sold into slavery.
      They then go to find the prince at a Traders market and rescued him to dethrone the Uncle… because of this the prince then decided to show what was in the treasury, once it was opened it showed that nothing was inside except for a small ring with a read dragon eye sat on a pedestal.. the prince then said before the campaign ended “I don’t know what’s so important about this trinket… but all I know is that wars were waged because of it”
      ----
      But now I’m making the next part of the story except with this one it’s going to involve an actual Puzzle box and inside is a letter from the Clockmaker himself except it wouldn’t make sense because the letter only contains a short story… however if the players were to shine a Moonlight rod [black light] on the letter they would find out that it’s actually an Ottendorf cipher [book cypher] telling them where to find the next Dragon item

      Lorne Miller I am going to have to disagree on this. I would say that he is finding is style and voice more. A quick video like this would be definition be more tight and with a purpose. His standard long forms haven’t done that at all.

    • @SkillTree

      These "quick skill" videos are meant to be more supplemental. They are more for subjects that I think are fun or helpful but don't see myself making a really long episode for. Let me know if you still feel that way for my more long form vids.
