Hi, I have this product. When I'm done using it do I have to empty the water from the tank or leave it sitting in the tank till next week's use? Will it damage the resin?
I personally lean it to the side and drain any extra. I do it very quickly I’m not worried about getting every drop. Bigger water softener systems hold water all the time I don’t think it would hurt if your constantly using it.
@@waxonwaxoffmd ok thanks! I did lean it with all valve open and let as much water out as I can until next weeks use, I’m worried about excess water decaying the resin or whatever so just to be safe to ask
Great video. I washed my car 3 times and had to replace. You heard that right…THREE times. The resin will only last for as long as your water hardness is low to average. High PPM here and it becomes an awfully expensive adventure. If you truly washed that many cars, the water must not be hard at all.
I agree, I had the CR spotless DIC-20 high output mobile unit, and after a month needed to replace the resin. I washed 5 vehicles and amazed how your lasted a year after washing 150 cars. Please share your techniques?
It has to do with the hardness of the water. If your water is very hard, then there is no way to get around it….you will simply get less usage out of the filtration media.
@@johngreen2510 Your right, it all depends on how hard your water supply is. I am looking in to leasing residential tanks from a company called Puretec, let’s see how that works out.
@@OptimumCarDetailI understand that but you are limited by the hardness of your water supply. For those of us with hard water…we get minimal usage out of $100 worth of resin.
In all honesty, I didn’t measure the gallons I used for the filter. I am doing a better job this time around keeping count of the gallons I use. I did use it a lot and was very happy with this product.
No not really. I still dry the car off with a water blade in a spray wax. Maybe if I am in the month of August doing a black car in the afternoon here in Florida. And that’s if you let the water just sit on the car.
I have had a few clients buy theirs from Amazon both told me they were unhappy with the results. I think it might have to do with the RESIN you get. I told one to buy the Resin from griots to see if it made a difference. Not sure if he did or not. I would highly recommend this product. I’ve used it weekly for the past 2 years also the tank is pretty strong I’ve dropped it a few times. No cracks no leaks no WATER SPOTS!!!! Lol
Thank you for the advice. I have spoken to Griots to buy their DI tank. Thru your research I was hoping you found a less expensive option. I buy frequency from griot for my shop. Truly like their products. Imho Griots does not get enough respect from the online detail RUclipsrs
Just a few hours ago I was wondering if there was a portable solution to removing minerals and contaminants from municipal water for use in washing my vehicles and then this pops up. Hahaha interesting coincidence….. or was it? 😳😵💫🤷🏻♂️
Lol I’m glad it sent you my way! This is what you are looking for they also make a smaller one! This one is around $300 and the smaller one is $150 I believe.
I wash 2 cars and an RV. Water @ 150 ppm. I use the by-pass and only do a final rinse with filtered water. Tank lasted about a year.
⭐️Great demo ….I need one!👍
Gotta love a spot clean wash 🫧🌊
Always….👍

This is meant as final rinse, you're suppose to use the bypass while you wash.

Are you able to measure the Particles in the water before and after the filter?
Yes I should of done it in the video. It’s roughly 250 to 300 ppm coming out of my house and 5 to 10 ppm after the water deionizer.
How many gallons of water will it filter before changing resign and flushing it out? Looking into getting one myself

Do you still get a lot of water spots even though you’re ppm is 5-10?

What is your tap water dissolved solids PPM?
Nice video. I have been considering getting the griots garage deionizer for my garage. Did you look into other brands?
