Well these two videos from you turned me from feeling like ricing is too overwhelming for me to do, to ricing an arch vm I just installed yesterday with dwm in a few hours. It's taken me more than a year to get around to rice dwm. When I first tried around summer 2021 I barely got dwm working out the box, then Idk what I did but I broke that vm and just gave up after a few other fails. This time around I decided to watch someone do it instead of reading from the wiki and just trying to figure it out by myself and I managed to do it lol. Thank you for the video!
@@trevorsatori It would be awesome if you could make a video on when patching goes boom and doesnt work :p I've been trying to get some patches working together, but no matter how I try I cant get it to work. Some patches remove stuff in dwm.c that other patches need and so on. I always end up going back to dwm-flexipatch, sadly.
4:52 do you by any chance have a version of this that works for keyboard instead of mouse? (just the arduino shield part). I want to make pc think my arduino is a keyboard
I'm back again here to comment because, after doing everything exactly the same with the exception of adding zsh and powerlevel10k for more terminal bling, it seems there's a memory leak happening in the xorg server because it's steadily filling up all the allocated ram I set up for the vm. And when it gets close to completely filling all my ram, the xorg session crashes and it takes me back to login. Any suggestions on what to do lol? I'm not good at linux troubleshooting. Edit: nvm, picom bug I think. Turned off transparency and it stopped crashing.
@@trevorsatori ok, so it's something between "tweaking" and "pimping up". Thanks! Funny feeling, when not getting what cool kids on a block talking about anymore 😄
I really appreciate that, thanks! I have a few ideas in the works but have been extremely busy with school. Currently in senior year at University and doing artificial intelligence research. Is there anything in specific you'd like to see?
hey your videos are very helpfull! keep up the good work! i just wanted to ask could you do AI aimbot video but with yolov7 that's the newest version of yolo!

One of the best easy to understand dwm rice guide out there. Thanks.
I feel so overwhelmed not being a coder myself, but this is incredible to see.
thanks Satori, great guide. I decide to follow your guide, simple and work.
Hey, really appreciate these types of videos.
Glad you found value in it, thanks for watching

There is a library for the arduino to emulate the keyboard yes
hey bro, how do you change the selection in terminal from the white highlighting to where you can actually write something

I don't use Arch BTW. But your vdo's are very helpful for setting up DWM.

What "rice" stands for? Is there a wiki or something to look through those build-desktop-beauty terms?
Hey, rice is just a term used by the community for customizing your desktop / window manager & making it look good.

You can search for slang on urban dictionary
I think rice is derived directly from the car community.
