Sean, do you happen know how to physically clean ( by dipping ?) old VHS tapes that have got mouldy ?

No probs. The only thing I've done with that is taken the cassette apart and wiped the mould off the edge of the tape! (But not the actual playing surface...)

What about weeding out distortion to some degree?

That's a tricky one! The AI separation helps, but I've not found a way of eradicating it...
