Pheasant Shooting & Banging Curry | Game Eater

- It's driven pheasants this week as I join a Gibbs family shoot day on Dougarie Estate on the Isle of Arran. As shoot locations go, this one is pretty incredible, with a seaside backdrop for most of the drives. We finish off with some woodcock flighting - a first for me - and then I rustle up a buttery pheasant curry for the crew back at our cottage. This is one of my all-time favourite pheasant recipes - a great replacement for chicken.

These videos are getting better and better. Finally its well detailed with a really deep showing of how to cut a full animal apart. Amazing. Keep going, this series is filling a gap in the youtube gastronomy era.
Glad you like them!
Think Peggy might have otitis . Worth getting on top of it before it becomes a chronic problem which is then a pain in the …. to treat.
The combination of hunting on these incredible estates, dressing the game and finishing the episode with a superb outdoor cook is phenomenal. Keep them coming!
Ive just butched two pheasants from last weekend, so will make this tomorrow. thanks. looks awesome!
At least his cooking is better than his shooting I suppose. Another great vid!
A chef making an attempt at hunting his own food! 👌🏼
Exactly what I was thinking!
The food looks amazing and I love the look into hunting culture outside the US. Would hunt with Thomas any time.
Great films that combine hunting and cooking! Loooove to see more! Would be great to see some series abroad, Italy, France,… new hunting traditions and new recipes 🙏🏻 keep doing this! All the best from Italy
Amazing video, once again! Well done Thomas & co 🤌🏼
j'addooooooorrrre, so great to have hunting and good quality cooking in the same video !
I’ll never tire of these videos! 😎👊
The production, B roll, content, videography and music choice is on point. And yet also educational, another brilliant episode🫡
Love the early 2000's hair highlight's being rocked!
Fantastic video, awesome setting and user friendly demonstration on how to prep game. The wider world needs to see more of this! Keep them coming please.

Soon as I'm finished with dieting down, got plenty of pheasants to make this recipe. Well done TS and crew.
That was amazing. 3:20 looks straight out of a Chris Nolan movie lol

Best shooting I had on beach was the isle of muck brilliant.
Love watching these videos great sport shooting great food thanks
Thomas, when will you put a wild game cookbook out?!
I'm surprised that cracked whetstone doesn't fuck up his knives. Seen him use it a bit. I like that he he's not precious about equipment - get shit done
Thomas, we need to get you on the skeet/clay range.
Great video as always. Not impressed that you set a timer on with Siri on my homepod again 🤦♂🤣 wish the editor would edit those bits out!
Speaking as someone who shoots daily, and have had foe decades, please wear some decent ear protection!!!;)
Hi Man. You really need to work on your aiming man. Fantastic video btw.
Presumably you can continue skinning the carcass so as to make stock ? Or does the pheasant not skin easily on the top side ?
Mint, Squirrel 🐿️ next
Bro needs to collab with action Bronson on these
I am scared to ask what a shoot like that would cost ? or is it invite only. Great content ! keep up the hard work 🤘
Love the Beretta but curious about the shoulder case you are using. What is the maker?
looks like a good place to leave your car stranded :)
@@carlross8891 lol
I really enjoy these videos but can we sort out the audio lol it could be better but great work all the same Straker and team
great show about cooking. we have a lot of forest snipe in the freezer, what we hunted this year, we need to eat it, is there a good recipe for how to store them?
If you added the butter and cream during the blending stage would it emulsify better? Or no need difference? Awesome vid btw
❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉
You need to infuse whole spices in the ghee before adding the onions. Black onion seeds recommended for this style of curry.
I get the impression that you're being a little bit cheeky sometimes.
Can we see some cooking of the Woodcock?
Amazing quality as always but I have just a small gripe with them. I am not a Native speaker, nor is my family and some words and sentences are hard to pick up sometimes. I used to really appreciate the subtitles in the older episodes. If there is any chance they can get back somehow, that would be great. May fortune follow you and those around you.
Splendid❤❤❤👍
my friend, without a good Setter there is no good woodcock hunting
So if I shot one and it stops down near the next shooter ,who pheasant is it 😂😂
@@gambittandreas6756 one good woodcock hunting setter can serve 3-4 hunters who are stationed around a marked woodcock. and then there is a lottery on which of them will go, so that one possibly 2 hunters shoot woodcock. it's a magical hunt.
@ ooh okay , thank you for the info mate. 👍
Mate your not cooking in the rain 😂😂
What is the brand of jacket you wear?
Will we see a Game Eater/ Meat Eater colab?
US and UK?
Steve Rinella and Thomas Straker?
Probably stick to cooking, barn door comes to mind
The video content is very worth learning!I have one more question:I have an okx wallet with usdt in it and I have recovery phrases.:(laugh nominee buzz game expose field wash shoe world sadness bicycle grain).:How should I transfer them to Binan?
I disagree about the yellow fat on pheasants caused by their predominantly maize diet on shoots. It really doesn't render down as most other fats do, and, I think, leaves quite a bitter aftertaste if left on. I always cut it off while prepping the meat. This curry is equally good with pigeon breast.
why isn't the meat cleaned with water before cooking? I've observed it in many of your videos, is it not required?
I’d say it is a cultural thing.
Where are you from, or where are your parents from, if you don’t mind me asking ?
@Enzo-Ggt I see, I'm watching from India.
Hi Thomas, What breed is your dog?
Working cocker spaniel it looks like
🥳🧡🧡🧡💙💙💙💚💚💚💛💛💛💙💙💙💚💚💚🧡🧡🧡
🇪🇨🇪🇨🇪🇨
Maybe if chefs wore ear pro more they'd shout less in the restaurant
How many chefs hunt?
I too hate induction
Ear protection!
a what?
What kind of dog is that
Tzatziki? Raita? whose counting?
I don't mind most hunting bc it's quite well monitored. But hunting woodcock is unnecessary and probably unsustainable.
You’re wrong- do your research
7 days hanging my arse
If you could stop the awful background music, that would be great.
I’m a breast and thigh man myself 😉
Make a video on to make that bread. And not at RUclips short video; fuck that.
Thomas is embarrassing watching you attempt to shoot anything! I’m offering you a lesson, I’ve taught a world Champion so not useless
No one I hunt with would respect you again if you pass shot woodcock.
I don't know anyone that would shoot one a dog didn't point or flush.
They are just held in too high a regard.
This guy is a horrible shot
Kan du sluta med den hemska bakgrundsmusiken så är du på tåpp
Gay
What’s up?
