@@DatBoyDro its GREAT thanks for asking I just finished my last payment on my 2016 freightliner I took that test passed and never looked back and I do rail so I was only over the road for 3 months this trucking game is all what you make of it
Thanks for the input. I'm an American, but been living in Europe for over a decade due to family (my young children), decided to drive big rig to feed my children & pay the bills. But, man, the language barrier is a HUGE hurdle here! Failed my theory 2x, it cost around $250 for each retake! Decided to find someone teaching about the mechanics in English and stumbled upon this channel. Now I can see where I misunderstood what was taught in the classroom. The mechanics are exactly the same. Glad to hear that you've succeeded, my friend. You're an owner operator?
Dear Sir. Thank you for posting these videos. Through dilligence and the instruction you have provided here I was able to score a ninety nine percent on my exam today on the CDL permit test, Your clarity and presentation are a road map to sucess for those whom are willing to augment these lessons with the book. If we ever meet I owe you a beer. Sincerely R. Silva upstate NY
+dary johnson not sure at this point how much you remember of it but im about to take my cdl permit test and am trying to be as prepared as possible any tips or things that were notable?
yeah just study for it....use the youtube videos that are available and read the chapters its only moderately difficult but not hard at all...but if you don't study for it???
ive been studying a lot my dad has his class A's and is a tractor mechanic so i go with him to work to do inspections and talk parts and what not but i need my permits for a apprenticeship and want to get it first try
I passed on my first try. Was not difficult at all, just memorization. I studied for 1 day and did not watch any videos. However, this is a great refresher if you've been out of the industry for a time.
I wanted to tell everyone that this video helped me out big time. I took my airbrake test this morning and passed on the first try. I watched this video 4 times, studied index cards and passed. Hope this encourages someone, now to complete combination then I receive my permit.
It’s 2022 and I’m studying to get my CDL super nervous about it all even starting a new job I really hope this video works.! I’ve watched so many along with reading the manual
If you want to pass any endorsement my advise would be to read thru that section. Then read thru it again and take written notes on parts you know you will struggle to remember. Put those notes in your own words, dont just copy them word for word out of the cdl pamphlet. As you memorize your notes, quiz yourself over and over. You will have this material to read, and read it right up until the last min before your test. Just remember, you can skim read this section and get lucky, or read the whole section word for word and read your notes. Knowing the whole section will make schooling much easier. You dont want the instructer to have to desribe parts and whatnot to you while youre at school, it will take away driving time and affect your confidence. Btw this vid is a huuge help.. play it over and over again.. and like your fave movie, memorize the words thats going to come out of his mouth before he even says it. Satisfaction guaranteed! Laziness in studying will reflect your laziness on the road. And your career will suffer. Lots of money to be made in this industry. Have a great day folks!
I owe you a BIG Thank you. I took the air brake test 3x and failed. After watching your video. I was able to pass. Like Dary, if your ever in Nashville, Tn. I owe you a beer too.
Hey Juan C........ lol..... don't drink! Take life soberly day and night, it's a roller coaster ride like that and exciting. Be safe , and trust in Jesus min by minute :)
Honestly I love this video it’s that best video for air breaks I watched it about 5 times and was able to pass my test with a 99 only getting one answer wrong. Great video very informative watch this video and reading the book you’ll Definitely pass
iv been studying like crazy I downloaded CDL test Genie on my phone and passed the general knowledge 330 question practise test, now Im on to air brakes.. once I pass all the practise tests on this app, Ill scheduled to take the real thing at DMV... Failure is NOT an option.
This video helped my quite a bit. I just finished 1 week of in class training and was still a bit confused about brakes. Why doesn't anyone simplify it? Knobs out = spring brakes on; release Knobs in = Service brakes. These brakes are counter intuitive; charging the system to "release" the brakes. Thanks for the video I got it now.
Taking my Airbreaks exam today. Still need my combination test passed before I get to start practicing behind the wheel. I planned to be completed by the middle of the day with the both. But unfortunately, I was a little short for gas expenses while taking the two tests. I barely have enough to finish both test and finish by 4pm instead of 12pm. This is with only enough gas money to get to class tomorrow and maybe the next day. With God's speed 🙏 the two tests will be finished today and passed. For one I don't have any money or time to waste.
thanks, I am new and I think the guy in the video is explaining a little to fast for begginers, but I think he's ok for people who already have an idea on how to drive a truck.
I don't know how you can learn much from this guy, he is basically reading from a page and carrying on. A little more explanation from a teacher is required for a student to properly learn this stuff. Don't just read off of a page, engage!
Can any experienced truckers tell me why you would want to lock the wheels up in braking? It seems like locking up the wheels is something you would never want to happen. Also, how would you know they are about to lock up?? Thanks and safe travels.
Ill be 18 next month I'm trying to get my CDL iv studied all year i I feel like I I'm not ready.. I don't know if im over thinking it or what.. Any tip will be great!
did nothing for me. Drove in the military for a long long long time. How about what service brake pressure does and what happens when the yellow valve gets pulled.
@Sean White Service brakes or 'spring brakes" are secondary to the foundation brakes. Yellow emergency brake is what you release to drive, or apply to park. This applies your emergency parking brake so the vehicle will not move. Push to release, pull to apply.
"On top of that is the air compressor", you mean "on top of that is the govenor" ;) :P. And at around 1:30, I think you mean 'water vapor', not 'air vapor'?
just seen him today in my cdl class training video my instructor told me this videos on youtube Airbrakes are kicking my ass just dont get it now im here

REMEMBER in Illinois you can skip some of the questions, but may have to come back to them, if you skip to many. Sir thank you so much for your videos. I passed the General Knowledge, Passenger and Air brakes. I just wished you had a video for the School Bus part. Thanks you very much, and God bless.
Just wanted to let you know that this video helped me pass my Air Brake written test today....all this information was pretty much on my test today and I was able to answer the questions with no problem. THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU DO!!

At 40 seconds or so you mention the air compressor sits on top of air compressor and controls the pressure!!. I know you meant the governor but you didn't even mention a governor which makes me think you're reading too much and not explaining from your own knowledge. Also no mention of the air dryer but nice video you are easy to listen too, thanks

Service brakes or 'spring brakes" are secondary to the foundation brakes. Yellow emergency brake is what you release to drive, or apply to park. This applies your emergency parking brake so the vehicle will not move. Push to release, pull to apply.
