You get the occasional tough fight where being able to Leviosa one cluster of enemies while you Accio another group can be the difference. Also, if the enemy is close to the edge of a cliff or fortress wall it's easier to knock them off the edge with a Leviosa followed by a couple of standard attacks. Some of the fights against infamous humanoids go a lot easier if you can juggle between Accio and Leviosa cooldowns. Otherwise Accio is the better choice.
Same, but I also didn´t get the Accio Mastery. Accio is incredibly useful to single out enemies in combat, why would I want to pull a whole group into my face when I can effectively combo only one or two of them? The rest will just be in my face.

i had tons of talent points left over -- and basically didnt use at least 9 by end of game --- most of the stuff was useless to me as i lack the co-ordination for protego - and my veg were far more potent than anything else i could do. but endurus potion is a must i would think for any build (and extra bars just a necessary convenience) - as well as wiggenweld increased healing
I only used 11 points total. 3 of them for the Spell Sets. I've got 24 unspent at level 39. I need to finish that Field Guide to get that last point, hit 40, spend the Talent points, and get the Level 40 Trophy and the "spend all Talent points" Trophy.
Since levioso gets kinda bashed here😅, i just wanted to say i find it really useful and fun! It didn't really interest me at the start, but after trying out the others i found it was actually really neat. And the talent lets you effect multiple enemies when they are close together which, gives you a lot of control! Its also really handy if there are several enemies with yellow shields. It has become my go to, alongside glacius.
The venomous tentacula does an insane amount of damage with herbology III and breaks shields I argue that it’s very worth it. I drop two of those with the cabbage AND a thunderbrew and I literally didn’t have to fight late game lmao
Looking at the creator's footage he doesn't seem to use his plants from stealth. Even with the slow rate of fire tentacula's will clear a camp while you stealth around looting the containers.
True. I don’t really play using stealth, so that’s a good point. I could see how they’d be useful in you want to play that way. I’m just not patient enough 😅
I have the spell where you pull people to you and the upgrade that can pull multiple people, followed by the laceration spell. The next two is expelliarum which has the talent to mark them as cursed and then the fireball spell. I can then quickly scroll to the next set if I need to bust colored bubbles like Yellow. So I have the snowflake one and arresto momentum. I have the pushing spell becasuse chances are my pulling spell is still being recharged.
In my playthrough, I honestly should not have used talent points on the Room of Requirement talents, since I never used the potions or plants besides Wiggenweld Potions.
my first run im doing as if it was me at hogwarts so im doing no unforgivable curses or even any dark arts talents my second run im going to be a fullout grindelwald and just abuse the dark arts and my third run im just gonna buff all the the plants and mainly use them to fight for me because we love botany
I never use potions unless it’s health and I use a lot of combat spells and stealth so what’s the best way to use my extra talent points cuz I use curse spells to
@Arktix At 4:00 you mention taking Sense of Secrecy I and Sense of Secrecy II. Does taking II decrease the enemies ability to detect on top of I even more; or is this one of the Talents where both are not needed?

@@DonDeLem I saved before trying it out and I didn't feel like it did much to help. At least not for finding pages more easily since it's not like the pages show up through walls like chests enemies.
I feel like extending the duration stuff is visible, or even making it a toggle, would've been a good addition. As is, if you're the type of player that explores at all, Revelio is gonna be your most-cast spell throughout the game...
My new characrers don´t have Basic Cast Mastery anymore, it´s only 0.1 second decrease, so you need 10 basic hits, to rduce the cooldown by 10 seconds, put that point into knockback Curse (Flipendo) with both Disarming and Knockback Curse, you have an excellent basis for Unforigvable playstyle.
The developers have done a really good job of making all the talents useful, as long as your playstyle uses the related spells/abilities/consumables. So much so that I don't think there is any talent that everyone should drop. Even talents that a lot of people recommend dropping, are actually good, it's just they don't fit into the playstyle of the people recommending them. While I originally thought that I could easily drop talents for spells I don't use, the different enemy types, and their weaknesses to specific spell combinations, means that I make use of almost every spell. I think most players will make use of most of the talents in the Core Tree, and should focus their early points there. However, for almost everything else, it's just so playstyle dependent, that there is no way to recommend the right talents to a player, without knowing an incredible amount about how they play.
Great video, I love the Stealth play so that was my first maxed tree. I don’t use Ancient Magic except for Keeper Trials are more difficult content so I skipped all Ancient Magic talents. Ive mastered all Magic, Curse, Plants and Stealth Talents. So essentially dropping Ancient Magic, Shields, and Potions, except Edurus, thats just too OP to skip. As for Revelio talent, blegh, what a complete waste of a talent. They should’ve let you upgrade it like Alohomora through a quest.
Honestly I avoided all the room of requirements talents a d went all in stealth and dark arts and did a few in core and spells. I didn't get 4 sets as I stopped at 2 since beside a mild inconvenience it's not that much time consuming having to change spells.
@@acousticwolf5985 In my Dark Arts run, bombarda since i didn't really use it and in my non-dark arts run, venemous tentacula. I also never needed the extra healing from the potion since i found the enemies drop so many plus the combo healing
In some fights it's a bit tricky, fighting mobs of dark wizards you sometimes get 2 different enemies targetting you, one will throw a blockable spell, the other an unblockable one, if you don't dodge you get hit for massive damage so you may as well dodge.
^ I dodge a lot when it comes to wolves also. They attack simultaneously and their attacks are very quick (on Hard, anyway. Haven't tried the lower difficulties).
It's kind of hard to follow your points when you flip back and forth between level 18 and level 16. I've watched this a couple of times and at the point (4:30 minutes) you're saying "after you've got those essential talents, you're choices will become much more dependent on your play style. At this point you'll be level 20 or so..." I'm level 18 and hadn't seen any points in the video for 19 and 20 up to now. Are the two points not mentioned up to this point part of your recommended essential abilities or that's where the "or so" comes into play. Did you mean we'd be at level 18 when we hit the last essential points? Or, am I missing something? I really like your guide and follow it with every character I've made. I'm just curious if I'm missing something.
Don't have the game yet, but I plan to use 1 of the 4 spell wheels/diamonds as a utility one. Lumos, Disillusionment, probably the Nab-Sack. Keep that for general use and swap out for the RoR spells. Which is stupid, couldn't they have coded it so you get those spells automatically put on your wheel when in the RoR? And the Beast Care stuff while in the Vivarium? The RoR spells you literally CAN'T use elsewhere in the game, so it's kinda pointless clutter in your spell sheet.
@@DragonKnightJin switching these spells takes 2 button promps and like 10 secs. It´s not a big deal, no idea why people are making such a fuss about it

OK. Now as I understand it, you can only get 40 in the finale and some people are having trouble even then, so as a practical matter for most of the game the effective maximum is 35 points. That's right, is it not?
Why use an invisibility potion when you can just use the invisible spell that lasts as long as you have it turned on? Don't quite understand the purpose of it since there's already a spell that arguably does a better job than the six seconds you get with the potion. You can also get the talent that allows you to sprint while using the invisibility spell, too, so I really don't get the purpose of the potion at all. Anyone got any ideas?
As explained in the video, you're not completely invisible while using the disillusionment charm. With the potion, you are totally invisible and can't be noticed.
@@ArktixOfficial yeah I actually made that comment before I got to that part of the video lol. Thanks for your tips, man. I just got the game about a week ago and I am totally hooked. It was pretty overwhelming at first but guides like yours have helped me start off at a good trajectory, so thanks for that! One more question: so if you’re only partly invisible using the disillusionment charm, what’s the point of it? Does it make you appear fully invisible to certain enemies, or is it just like the enemies won’t notice you right away? It just buys you a few seconds of time before you get noticed? Could you theoretically get that same outcome just by being stealthy and hiding behind things?
Gotcha. Glad your enjoying it! So the Disillusionment charm will keep you undetected unless you get too close and it will last indefinitely. The invisibility potion will keep you undetected no matter what. But it only lasts a maximum of 8 seconds.
The chinese chomping cabbage has been patched to only allow the player to summon 1 and not 3 anymore. I’m playing the switch, so not sure if this patch was across all platforms.

Heh, quite a few talents that you deem as essential aren't actually essential. A pure stealth build that relies on the Disillusionment Spell and Petrificus Totalus is not going to need the Wiggenweld Potion Talents since the player is not going to get hit. By extension, this also applies to the Stupefy/Protego/Evasion talents, since the whole playstyle is to not enter combat.
There are forced combat sequences in the game (including boss fights) and stealth will fail you sometimes, even with these talents. Also, stealth and RoR talents are only 14 in total, plenty to spend elsewhere
@@MisterK9739 Quite the oppossite! Farming is not an issue with the Fertilizers, you will have more plants than the ones you use. You still do combat normally since you are still using spells and everything (and that's indeed the most fun part about the game*), you just not use the super broken versions of those spells, such as pulling 4 people with just 1 accio or igniting everything around you with 1 Incendio. Which makes the game quite difficult in late scenarios! Also, stealth in the build is forbidden. Trust me, it's quite good.
@@serendipity4346 my guy, your potions can make you invincible, create a thunderstorm around you, boost your spells by a crazy amount... all while your cabbages chomp down enemies, and mandrakes stun and even kill everything in sight. how is that hard. i had tons of talent points left over -- and basically didnt use at least 9 by end of game --- most of the stuff was useless to me as i lack the co-ordination for protego - and my veg were far more potent than anything else i could do. but endurus potion is a must i would think for any build (and extra bars just a necessary convenience) - as well as wiggenweld increased healing
@@ArktixOfficial I don’t use it with stealth I’ll drop all plants pop the thunderbrew and fight along with them and its OP as hell
Great video! Just bought the game about to start my playtrough today 😁 This helped a lot. 👍🏻 Subbed.
Hey thanks! Glad you liked this. Hope you're enjoying the game!
This was sooo helpful. Thanks!
Glad you found it helpful!
I have the pushing spell becasuse chances are my pulling spell is still being recharged.
this may be the most helpful video i’ve ever watched😂
In my playthrough, I honestly should not have used talent points on the Room of Requirement talents, since I never used the potions or plants besides Wiggenweld Potions.
my first run im doing as if it was me at hogwarts
so im doing no unforgivable curses or even any dark arts talents
my second run im going to be a fullout grindelwald and just abuse the dark arts
and my third run im just gonna buff all the the plants and mainly use them to fight for me because we love botany
You’re a real Ravenclaw!
Ravenclaw Rules!
Haha thanks! 😁🦅💙
I never use potions unless it’s health and I use a lot of combat spells and stealth so what’s the best way to use my extra talent points cuz I use curse spells to
Great video! Helped a lot. Thx😊
@Arktix At 4:00 you mention taking Sense of Secrecy I and Sense of Secrecy II. Does taking II decrease the enemies ability to detect on top of I even more; or is this one of the Talents where both are not needed?
Love your videos! It’s so concise! Thank you!
Thanks! Glad you’re finding them helpful 😄
5:46 I think depulso is also worth not to spend a point on.
Awesome vid! I running my 1st build as a Gryffindor no Dark Arts exploration build! I like to take my time searching for everything in the game! Then my next build will be a Slytherin Dark Arts total destruction build! Great vid, keep up the good work! Liked & Subbed! ;)
That’s my plan too!!
the Slytherin Dabotchery build is super fun
Helped me out so I can really enjoy the game more, thanks.
These videos are so helpful!!
Thanks! Glad you’re finding them helpful 😄
People talking about dlc, I just want them to add a update that let’s us reset/respec out talent points
Ty so much :) I appreciate your help :)
You’re very welcome! Glad you found this helpful 😁
Don’t dismiss Revelio Mastery. It’s tough seeing stuff and it works well.
I was skeptical at first about getting that talent but it was actually insanely helpful in my 100% playthrough.
@@DonDeLem I would not have been able to get 100% either.
Honestly Revelio Mastery is essential
Thank you for your videos!!! Just subscribed. Love the explanations and the tips you give 👌
Thank you! Glad you're enjoying my content 😄 I appreciate your sub! 🙏
You can now unassign and assign at will, you can swap and chose on the fly!
Yeah it's nice they added that!
Wdym
@@duffal0 That a 0.1 cooldown reduction per basic cast hit is not worth the talent point.
@@paristeta5483 is that under core or spells I haven’t seen a talent with that
@@duffal0 Core -> Basic Cast Mastery
Very helpful!
Thanks! Glad to hear that!
However, for almost everything else, it's just so playstyle dependent, that there is no way to recommend the right talents to a player, without knowing an incredible amount about how they play.
it's a bit weird to me the fact that you can't get all the talents but awesome guide, anyway!
Im still holding on to hope that we get a DLC in the future, adding new levels resulting in getting more talent points etc.
are you on pc? i just gave myself the 4 remaining points. with the save game editor mod. lame that you can't have them all so i fixed that haha
Much Appreciated 🙏🏻
Glad you found this helpful! 😁
This was very helpful
0:12 you can absolutely refund talent points but it will cost you quite a few galleons
You can now. They added this feature recently.
They should’ve let you upgrade it like Alohomora through a quest.
get all the curse talents it is game changer when you chain them together for fast masssive damage
Honestly I avoided all the room of requirements talents a d went all in stealth and dark arts and did a few in core and spells. I didn't get 4 sets as I stopped at 2 since beside a mild inconvenience it's not that much time consuming having to change spells.
Info worth more than a like 👍👏
Hey thanks! Glad you found this helpful!
There's been an update now where you can respect your points for a small fee so we can use them as we want!
I wish I hadn’t gotten enduring curse talent either. Didn’t know that enemies would be one shot by level 30. Even on hard difficulty 😢
I too have talents I regret getting. Now thanks to the video I have even more. Min-maxing for the next playthrough! Great video
Do you mind telling which talents you regret getting ? Thanks!
@@acousticwolf5985 In my Dark Arts run, bombarda since i didn't really use it and in my non-dark arts run, venemous tentacula. I also never needed the extra healing from the potion since i found the enemies drop so many plus the combo healing
Is there a way to reset the talent points 🤔
My combat strategy is feeding vegetables to my enemies during a thunderstorm.
Lol nice 😁
Feeding enemies to my vegetables in a thunderstorm.

Thank you for explaining everything!!! I’m new to the gaming world so it is hard for me to know what to do on games that you have free will at.
There are so many people I’ve seen not using protego and just dodge instead. There’s such a benefit to using protego
Especially talented protego, now i need to hit that perfect protego more often.
I also preferiti dodging in games but because I'am not good at perry.
No I don't think you're missing anything. This is just the "or so". Don't pay much attention to my level in the clips.
the 4th spellset is a luxury im saving that point for something else. other than beast care and ROR decorating, i can fit all i need on 3 sets
It´s not a big deal, no idea why people are making such a fuss about it
I love your combat videos. Can you do a video that goes over the dueling feat challenges? I’m having problems doing some.
Hey man I don't know why you can't reset one of your talent points on your game but I can on mine maybe it's because I bought the deluxe edition but I got it for cheap because of black Friday you know things get cheaper in price the longer you wait
They added this feature a few months ago, which was way after I made this video.
Think you for saying about swift I was worried about it I was tense, nervous, unconfortedit was mad crazy native bad disaster terrible narstey ugly you are a life saver
I completely ignored the stealth ones and healing ones, and focused on dark arts and spells.
OK. Now as I understand it, you can only get 40 in the finale and some people are having trouble even then, so as a practical matter for most of the game the effective maximum is 35 points. That's right, is it not?
Do I wait for the spell knowledge III or do I need all of them to get 4 spell slots
I'm at lvl 39 before the fourth trial, I thought you could get max level before finishing story but apparently not.
With which spell you bounce enemy on the ground repeatedly?
Can u tell me how to equip talent skill and from which button I could use it..?
So talents/skills are not equipped. You simply unlock them and they work passively. There is not a button you need to press to use them.
I’m glad we can reassign points now
I'm lvl 31 and only have 64% of the challenges completed. I stayed away from the main story for a while. I'm just about to learn imperio.
im going mostly for a dark arts exploration what talents would be best for that
Why use an invisibility potion when you can just use the invisible spell that lasts as long as you have it turned on?
You can also grind capturing beasts later in the game
Thanks great help for a New "B" !
The chinese chomping cabbage has been patched to only allow the player to summon 1 and not 3 anymore. I’m playing the switch, so not sure if this patch was across all platforms.
I barely got the game about 2-3 weeks ago nd tbh ik why couldn't that future be when yall where playing it but now i guess you can by buying the points to reset them nd now cuz I've seen this video thank you nd now i know what to spend them on thank you have a good day
Heh, quite a few talents that you deem as essential aren't actually essential.
Playing with Slytherine house like good person. So for now there is no dark art talent. But now i can make a build more effectively
Slytherine is the dark arts house
@@Based_investor dude the game is mine i can play whatever i want chaotic evil hufflepuff'ın or lawfull good Slytherine. The decision is mine
@@basariyaaciz of course you can. But your sentence reads like, "I'm part of the Aryan Brotherhood like a good person. So there is no racism."
I am stuck at level 33 because I didn’t collect all field guide pages I have all the the xp I need
Awesome!
If I’ve made the amateur mistake of selecting dark arts talents early, should I restart?
Every time i try to click a talent it doesn't let me and i have the lv requirement is it common in pc
Question this is my first time playing this game should I get both 1-2 knowledge talents at the same time or at different times what would be smarter
Might we wise to get 1 first and then get a few other talents before picking up the second one. You’ll want them both pretty quick though.
How much does wiggenweld potency actually increase the potion effect?
Quite a bit, but the potions already heal you a lot, so I personally don’t think it’s worth going all in on those talents.
Sir, Ty!
Glad you found this helpful!
You guys should try an Apotechary build, no upgraded spells, no ancient magic, full room of requirement upgrades, no curses.
sounds like a lot of farming and just walking during combat. Why would I want to actively avoid playing the game? Combat is so fun
It´s literally the easiest way to play the game. You let it play out itself, you don´t even have to do alot
