I'm surprised Ian didn't show more signs of PTSD in this movie after he nearly got crippled in the first movie.
Also, the guy that eventually got chomped by the Tyrannosaur was in no danger from the snake. It was a scarlet kingsnake that slithered into his shirt. Remember the rhyme for discerning the kingsnake from the venomous coral snake: red near black, venom lack. Red near yellow kill a fellow. It's a reference to the positioning of the colored bands on their body. Kingsnake band patterns go red black yellow, coral snake band patterns go red yellow black.

To be fair in that situation you are not going to be calm enough to identify the snake and freaking out is sort of understandable.

One of my favourite memes comes out of this film, in the early scene with Hammond and goldblum
“Don’t worry, I’m not going to make the same mistakes again”
“No...no...you’re making ah, you’re making all new ones”
In the meme, hammonds head is replaced by either Mickey Mouse or Kathleen Kennedy and over goldblum face is a banner that simply says “Star Wars fans”

"They did not learn from their first mistake" - Thing is, if in reality we had brought back dinosaurs, no matter what mistakes we make, we would want to still keep them around. Such a breakthrough would not be one that we would simply want to undo. That's just the truth of it.

A lot of people always wondered how did the crew of the ship die when the T-Rex was locked below deck and it was never explained in the movie; but they did explain it in the book. Before the ship left the island with the Rex, a pack of Raptors stowed away onboard and ended up killing and eating the crew. That is what caused the ship to crash into the docks on the mainland. By that note, it means there is an unknown number of Raptors running around in the city. Honestly, out of everything to cut from the movie for time/money, I don't know why they cut that detail because it makes no sense to anyone who hasn't read the book.

    • @kyleenglot9184

Truth in television. The human reaction to hearing a scream is to freeze and mentally assess if they just heard a scream. The second scream prompts the active response because it confirms you heard a scream, and it needs to be acted upon whether you run towards to help or away to flee. This is why a lot of people get victimized even though they screamed for help... they only screamed one time, and people hearing it froze up and then weren't sure if they heard a scream or not, and either figured it was a trick of their ears or weren't able to determine where it came from fast enough to intervene. Survival tip: Keep screaming as long as you can, no matter what.
For the record, that lovely little girl survived. According to the novelization, she got a bit chewed up, in particular around the legs below her knees, but managed to stay on her feet, and thus out of mortal danger from the compie swarm, long enough for her father and the sailors to arrive and drive off the compies before they could do any serious injury to her. It was a traumatic experience but she was ultimately okay. She didn't even end up needing to go to the hospital because the crew had such a well-stocked medical kit... they were able to treat her effectively right there. Although, her legs were severely scarred up for the rest of her life.

    ‘...ok, not so different now...’
Gives little “oh shit” sigh and dims light...
This is why when Thor ragnorok was being scripted there were sections simply marked “goldblum”
Basically just hire goldblum to come in and be goldblum...

And the whole reason Hammond wanted Malxolm and company to go to the island was to collect photos and data to help turn it into a restricted wildlife preserve. But the first movie was set on Isla Nublar, while the second was set on its sister island, Isla Sorna, the site of the first Jurassic Park. Isla Sorna was supposed to be for breeding only; where the animals were to be moved to Isla Nublar for the Park. The family landed on the second island; which wasn't classified as Quaritined like Isla Nublar was. The 3rd film would go back to the first island.

I can only justify my reasons for hating this movie, and I'll explain it here.
    - Steven Spielberg created the JP film based on Crichtons novel (about 75% accuracy to the novel) to huge success. Fans beg for sequel.
    - Crichton firmly states that he does not write sequels. However, Spielberg continues to pressure Crichton to write a sequel, so he can base a 2nd film on his writing.
    - Crichton caves and writes a second novel, which was incredible.
    - Spielberg then adapts the book to film and probably keeps 5% of the story content. Most of the changes are weird and also have no continuity.
So we never got to see a faithful adaptation of the second book, which is a great book. And I find it so insulting that Spielberg did that after pressuring Crichton to write the book in the first place.
Also fun fact: the opening scene came from the first JP novel.

I would like to say that the Parasaurolophus (the big duck-billed dinosaur with the horn on the back of its head) fought back against those hunters and sent two of them literally flying through the air in that scene. I definitely cheered for the duck-bill there. Unfortunately, it didn't stop them, and, as a result, it still ended up on the ground a moment later.

Actually The Lost World and Jurassic Park are both based on the original Jurassic books written Michael Crichton except the books are have A LOT MORE gore than the movies, the two T-Rex’s splitting Eddie in half is as similar as the deaths in this movie get in the book, I mean in the scene where they are in the tall grass it only had one kill in the book but in that kill the guy gets jumped on from the back by a Velociraptor and then the rest of the Raptors come and tear his body apart, there was one that was holding the guys severed head in its mouth, and in the first movie for the Nedry kill the book counterpart had the Dilophosaurus be 10 feet tall and it blinded Nedry with its spit and then it tore in belly open with one of its claws and the intestines were falling out of his body and then when Nedry fell to the floor it bit on the sides of his head and lifted him off the ground when he finally died, so yeah the books are way more gorier than the films, also the plot for the Jurassic Park book and movie is similar while the plot for The Lost World book and movie are completely different
Sorry for writing an entire paragraph I just really love this franchise

The island they're on in this movie is actually a different island than the first one. I had to watch the movie a few times to get it. This is one of those movies you have to watch a couple times to catch all the really small details. There's actually a deleted scene that's filled with exposition where they basically explain that the little girl lived, but was badly injured.

    • @bloodwolfgaming9269
      @bloodwolfgaming9269 4 года назад

I mean, they said it in this movie that she lived. In the scene when Ian went and talked to Hammond. Hammond said that the little girl was attacked but survived.

If you thought the two movies were graphic or scary, you NEED to read the original books. the first book was SO much more graphic and crazy. The second book actually had so much happen differently and Sarah Harding's character was so much more badass! her raptor chase scene was adapted for Owen Grady in Jurassic World..
And to answer your question, no the little girl at the start of the movie didn't die (at least, according to the book). That scene was actually part of the FIRST book, along with a lot of scenes that they split up between the rest of the movies.

The way to tell the male and female T-Rex apart is by their color. The female is brown and more solid color, whereas the male is primarily green but also has some stripes as well. I think they're also equally sized as well. Around this time, scientific research seemed to show the female T-Rex was BIGGER than the male (mainly with the discovery of a T-Rex named Sue), but nowadays we don't think that was the case (even though I'm still partial to that idea).

    The beard is...really working, BTW.
I love this movie, nothing beats the first JP but this is so...silly and stupid at times that you can’t help but have fun. Also having Jeff Goldblum lead this film is just perfect, it brings something the first film couldn’t do which is this sort of absurdist, cynical view of the island.
I don’t know how into reading you are but Jurassic Park and The Lost World are two very different but good books (especially JP)
Haha, that scare got everyone in the theater too.
The guy who gets eaten in the blockbuster is the co-writer.
Also there are about 1,000 theories on what happened on the boat and that originally it seems it was intended for raptors to have been on the boat and escaped. Which would explain how the crew was killed but the Rex was still caged

They're actually "utahraptors". The film calls them by the name of their much better known cousins the "velociraptors". But velociraptors are actually between the size of a chicken and a small dog. The difference between utahraptors and the films' raptors size is negligible.

Huge speech: This movie is so well written I have no fucking clue what haters are talking about. It's a bit fast in the middle but like... in the first movie a child hacking a computer that they hired a special guy just to design, so well that he shut down the whole park on his own from it? And she just recognizes all the operations and everything as soon as she sees it. Right.
Or how about how they turn about 60 dialectic conversations from the book about ethics into ONE dinner scene where they barely touch on anything? Yeah sorry the first movie makes even less sense. At least in this movie the dinosaurs actually ACT like dinosaurs and they go into the olfactory cavities of TREX, its realistic hunting ranges, its parental behaviors, and all sorts of other goodies, like the scene where they tear through an entire jungle to sniff out their child.
The first movie was a much better book. You know what a trex would do if it broke out of a fence that it was trapped in forever? fucking get as far away as possible. in the first movie it harasses people with 0 provocation for the longest time. The second movie tries to fix tons of inconsistencies with the dinosaur stuff and even rolls back how bad the trex's vision is as it also likely genetically overcame this slowly through reproduction and just general practice with shitty eyes (it's possible some dinosaurs were born with shitty eyes just like people sometimes are). However, the trex had the best vision of any animal ever so to cut most of its role in the movie is also really satisfying to dinosaur heads. Also the movie in general has a tight theme about naturalism from the ground up and nick and sarah are the two most important characters in the movie. Everyone else literally doesn't matter. Nick was sent to stop the idiots trying to make another park (successfully) and Sarah was meant to document the animal's to show the public that they needed to be left alone (successfully).
People died? Yeah it was a huge idiotic mission from the jump. People dying was assumed to be a possibility for the stability of the island. You know what's dumber? Raptors in the first movie... they were turned into aliens essentially. lol opening doors xD I like how they totally rolled back on that too with how raptors in this are fucking dense like they should be (jumping through glass windows when the door and another opening were right there). This movie fixes literally everything. Including how a child who be of help in a situation (kicking a bird is possible, a 13 year old child hacking a park mainframe is cringely and hilarious). Also ps? this movie has incredible dialogue. There are so many banging lines in this movies it's not even funny how slept on it is.

I Love this movie so much, It's so much better than the First to me. I love how they're more like Animals and less like themepark monsters. Your reaction is priceless when there's two Adult Tyrannosaurs lmao. Also these Rexes see you even if you don't move, these are a different breed. And for the reason Dieter Stark died to the Compys, it's also highly likely that they were all Venomous because in the first book they are. So a dozen of these little chickens from hell nipping at your face and body it wore him down making him easy prey. I thought that was a Fun idea. The Raptors we encounter in this are notably male too smaller with a tiger like appearance. The SS Venture the ship that crashed at the end is a Reference/Cameo of the Ship that took King Kong to the world in the 1933 original. ^-x

Animals in most larger zoos are breeded and monitored for a time before letting them in to an actual zoo. Some zoos outsource the animals completely. Some have enclosed habitats of their own. They can have more control out of sight of the guests and make more safe for everyone.

If you enjoyed the Jurassic Park movies, it might interest you to know that they are adaptations of two novels by Michael Crichton. In addition to writing novels, Crichton also wrote and directed a movie called *Westworld (1973).* Of course, you might also know it from the fact that there has been a more recent television adaptation of Westworld. You should consider watching the film though, it's a cult classic.
