- A full playthrough of both the Grant and Raptor games, on Hard difficulty. It's set to European (50Hz)
Grant's ending is at 29:25 and the beginning of Raptor's game at 30:52
23 years since I play this game for the first time and I never notice that the Rex at the begining says "Sega"
Holy crap i never knew that
😮
Same!😂
Same
Huh? Didn't sound like it to me.
After almost 30 years later still looks great
come on no it doesn't
@@Stridewise oh yes it is
@@jaygooese4242 oh ok
I did MANUALLY BRUTFORCE passwords for this game when I was 8 and this was my first genesis game. Difficulty was ofc completely outside my league, I was pissed so easily, and I was only allowed to play barely an hour daily. So I was too impatient to waste time trying hard. It started out of desperation, after a major fit. I remember how fucking excited I felt myself when I first rolled an actual password, starting on 4 (the river level). It took me a total of few hours of randomly mashing buttons. With shaky hands, I've written it down, anxious to lose the paper.
After that I discovered a few days later (after rolling a second password, with letter 8, that went conveniently one level apart from the river level) that by moving the first number and the last letter of an existing password by two postions you can change levels with the same weapons layout. The idea came to me by night time, and I couldn't beaк waiting for the next day to try. Genius! It felt almost like a miracle, it just worked! It took a bit further to figure how to access levels that went after 8 (canyon), that is to start with A and C (I didn't know what hexadecimal is at that age). It seemed kinda logical, after 8 goes 0, but 0 is the first level, the numbers are out, it had to be letters.
For all that insight I had no fucking clue what to do in the last boss sequence and defeated him only years later.
To be fair, it wasn’t very clear what you *could* do in those final bosses
I never figured it out until RUclips 😂
I just noticed one of the screenshots in the instruction manual of the world map had a password on it. Straight into Grant's volcano level.
The T Rex has demolished your car and the electric fences are down.
Oh hell yeah! Bring it on!
9:09 if you get the raptor to chase you to the end of the hallway, knock it out, climb the ladder and then wait at the end of the wall, the raptor will attempt to climb the wall to reach you. It’s part of its complicated dino smart AI that was never really used effectively, but does allow some cool random things to happen. I’ve known about this for years and don’t think anyone else does.
I did! I even tried that playing as the raptor
@@gopacho6634 that’s awesome, sad it doesn’t work!
@@Tarquin23 that game needs a remake!
I've known that as well! Only place in the game where I've been able to replicate it. I posted it somewhere, either TresCom or Sega-16, not sure. Also some other things like background error/fix for Pump Station and how Grant's Canyon level uses the wrong (Volcano) music.
stills looks great, that map screen music still give me goosebumps. Good old memories!
Although in childhood I thought the music in the map screenthe background sound was puppies barking !
4:01 What the hell?! I never knew that was a thing! XD
Man... I faintly remember this game from my earliest childhood!
This took me back when I was 5 holy crap! I never could defeat Dr Grant as a Raptor....now I realize I just had to......wait for him to run away.......well...
noo you had to kick the base of the skeleton statues, that was the trick
The opening was actually kinda scary 'ish when I was a kid. In a sort of way that made the game even cooler :)
When I was a kid, I had a computer CD that was basically a compilation of Mega Drive games, but with the sound slightly different and a few other things missing (aka, bugs).
My point is, when I started this game, the Sega logo didn't appear. There was only the T-Rex saying *"SEGA!"* really menacingly. So, to 9 year old me, that was really terrifying. I barely got past the first stage in this game, due to how atmospheric it felt! XD
It was scary to me too as a kid
Even the music was scary
It mirrored the original, which was grittier and darker than the film
My goodness, what does that raptor have against Dr. Grant?
He owes it money
I remember this game I played this game long long time ago the first level I cannot pass it the river rafting and And the velociraptor level is the sewer I cannot pass 😢
super code: < *NYUKNYUK* > push start for enabled> (exit of code) push start options> again start and exit of options> push game start.
I've always preferred the PAL version of this game. I the music sounds better to my ears and the gameplay feels smoother. Thanks for this!
Yes, it feels like on Genesis it plays faster then it should.
9:15 the compy's got the pro-gamer move.
Whoever decided to suddenly go against everything the game taught you at the end... by making the raptors invincible to everything but falling bones... that person needs to be slapped.
They tried to be epic.
1:34 Kind of weird: the Tyrannosaurus attacked the Jungle Explorer in the cinematica... but then Grant appeared along a destroyed Jeep Wrangler!!
By the way, I love this game, but even more the 'Rampage Edition'.
I just finished watching the rampage video before this lol. So many memories
I used to kinda like this one better than rampage, I think maybe the level design was better or it just felt more like trying to survive JP. But rampage was better in other ways cause u could vaporize all the enemies lol
Ah memories… I wish I could still play it on the sega but my dad keeps selling it 😅 so I’ll rely on emulation..
26:17 is my favorite level theme music
In this game the dark md sound is amazing!!! I love it! The reason because I love this console!!!
I played this game when I was 10 got to the last part and never passed it because I never new you had to throw f%*¥^+= grenades to the fossils!!! Until now.
lol same
Dude I loved this game and never could beat the end lol
I beat it by accident. I don't remember tho, if I shot the rocket upward, or threw a gtrenade... But it actually tiggered all binosaur bons to fall.
14:55 There's only one reason why those brachiosaurus' could be standing **that** close, and it's if they're making the beast with two backs... ;)
sound track is fire
Ahh the early nineties when stop motion animation found new life as a video game development tool.
Good graphic for this time :)
Excellent dino AI too!
Me recuerda mucho a mí infancia y me da nostalgia y ganas de jugarlo
When Jurassic park games weren't as held back and had good ok fashion human dino primal species carnage..if you look at its its mostly just dino duels and park building we need more action than that
I'd like a survival horror Jp game. Dino-Crisis and Oakwood didn't satiate me.
Preach!
how smooth it works with 50fps, i love it
would be awesome a remaster with actual game techniques, first person adventure playing as Grant throw the park like this
I think now, after all these years, not only was this game too hard for me that I never beat it. I was also too scared.
Ah this music speed is more recognizable for my taste then faster Genesis version.
I never beat the game damn it
Always struck at the final scene and didn’t know until now I see this video.
nice jurassic park 1993 for sega genesis - mega drive longplay !!!
Was this your first playthrough lmao
First time i've played this game in 1993 i said " damn, this game sucks hard" ... 30 years later > same feeling :D ^^
what?? the Age of Empires music in the minute 1:00??
pal 50 hz is 50 fps on the gaming in the ps4??
Guerriero920 the music is so slow he put it on PAL mode is slower than regular one
@@sonicandashuro9992 No, it's a proper PAL 50HZ music speed. Some games had that issue where Genesis and megadrive had faster/slower music playback.
Is the music slowed down?
Yes, it's the European/PAL 50Hz version which is slower than the US NTSC 60Hz
So the music from videogames i always thought were accelerated were OK, it was just my version the one that was slowed down? My whole life is a lie ! Anyway, i like the slower version of these tunes.
If you click on the settings icon, there is a choice of how you want to the video play speed to be. If you choose "1.25", that would be the normal speed for the standard American version. Otherwise, the "Normal" speed option on this is slightly slower.
TheMcardarelli Aye. The tune is whole a lot more tense with the slow music :)
NTSC music speeds just make games feel bullet hell and no tension :)
I don't like the NTSC version because it's too fast
30:23 回家了
41:34帶回家
25:49 Suicidal Compis.
LOL! I loved it when they actually run off the edge.
BTW in raptor's gameplay you could eat them!
yh. the days =^_^=
i can hear the 10 Hz delay and slow down. i cant watch this version
That's because you are used to Genesis version. But for us- Megadrive people from Europe and Japan - this is proper speed for our ear.
The ntsc version of this game is too fast, i think
TRUE
It’s actually the correct speed but I agree, I grew up with the PAL version which is atmospheric and tense. I can’t get my head around the slow music which is weird, because Rampage Edition sounds slow in comparison in PAL, when I only know that version too. I think the tunes in this game just suit being slower.
Thompson Paul Miller Michael Lewis Laura
Where is the fuckin 12 gauge shotgun?!
In the sequel rampage edition?
Nyuk nyuk
Rampage edition was better
Meh.. it felt better and smoother. But the game ws easier and not as dark and spook as this.
The third level of Dino sucks!
The waterfall level? Yeah it does 😬
Without a guide it’s entirely trial and error. A pain in the ass in most games, but at least this one had passwords 😅
@@StarkSpider24 I played this game through last year! With the Dino is it more easier haha!
@@StarkSpider24 no I say the third of the Dino Levels :D I hate any Jump & Runs, but Password Games rules :D
I hate this game 😡😡😡😡
Playing this right now on my mini-Gen. Modern games wanna go woke? Who needs 'em?!
Yes... the musics as i remember them.... :_)
Man this game was good
