Absolutely correct, I might add to also not smoke. All work involved with engine, electrical or fuel requires the battery to be disconnected, that’s other than changing a tyre. I like to disconnect the battery to reduce chances of a spark causing a fire and also keep a fire extinguisher handy.

My 300E fuel pump is not making any sound when turn ignition on and not start but fuel relay is knocking......why?
Either you need a new relay or you have a supply problem to the relay. Maybe a bad negative connection. Good luck, Paul.
