- i wanted to focus on jayfeather in a way that doesn't revolve around the prophecy, so this is more about the important women in his life; Half Moon, Hollyleaf, Briarlight and Leafpool.
I actually started this a year ago when I was taking a break while working on Disobedient Son which is why at one point I give up drawing the throat stripes. also at some point my brain got fried because I have a 3 month old and a full time job so his swirl stripe gets turned around and the scar just kinda goes away.
Also! This is technically a remake of one of the first videos that I cobbled together to showcase my work for MAP parts. You can watch the OG here:

This is gorgeous!! Honestly feel as if it’s a pretty unique pmv, I love how it goes through important aspects/characters involved in his life up to almost the current point in the books!

“Now here I go again. I see the crystal visions. I keep my visions to myself.” Those lyrics *really* describe Jayfeather well
(For whatever reason, characters in the Warrior Cats series NEVER talk it out when it comes to visions-they always insist on keeping the prophecy secret or on a “need-to-know” basis (an outsider perspective is never consulted, even if they could’ve helped somehow or prevented something bad from happening))
The three cats foreshadowed in the constellations of the night sky (a lion, a jay bird, and a sprig of holly) and then the transition showing the holly turning into a dove-showing the *true* three cats with “the Power of the Stars in their paws”-was done beautifully!
“Like a heartbeat drives you mad.” The saddest thing is, *love* was the primary motivator of why Ashfur did so many bad things (in both The Power of Three arc and The Broken Code arc)
“Remembering what you had. And what you lost.” Jayfeather remembering his “Jay’s Wing” life and his feelings for Half Moon and how they couldn’t be together…
“Women, they will come and they will go…” The way you interpreted the lyrics for this was amazing!
Jayfeather can’t be with Half Moon, he lost Hollyleaf (he kinda lost her twice actually (the time she went missing in the tunnels and then dying in the Great Battle), he lost Briarlight (he was sick himself at the time, so he couldn’t help her (and Briarlight didn’t say anything about how bad her condition really was to not worry anyone/cause trouble for anyone) so she died), and he lost Leafpool (she was too injured to be healed, so she died and stayed in StarClan)
The only woman in Jayfeather’s life he has left is Squirrelflight (and it was tense when he found out she had lied to him about being his mother and even had to say hurtful things to save him from being killed by
Ashfur during the fire scene)
It wasn’t shown in this video but he also (in a way) “lost” Poppyfrost (they were friends as apprentices, but they grew up, they got different roles in the clan (Jayfeather became a Medicine Cat and Poppyfrost became a Warrior), Poppyfrost mated with Berrynose and started a family of her own, and ultimately she and Jayfeather drifted apart)
And to a certain extent, Twigbranch (she was this baby kitten Alderpaw/heart found, who would hang around the Medicine Den and be an annoying little kid, but later she grew up, became a Warrior, and she stopped coming around as often)
I love the ending when Jayfeather can see all the cats he loved and lost at the Moon Pool (and he made his peace with his birth mother and mentor, Leafpool)
