  • It's a brand new year, but, unfortunately, the same old rubbish here at Lancashire Footnotes. We're off to the shadow lands again, this time where the unrivaled majesty of Lancashire meets the unreasonably priced council estate of Cumbria, and invariably a barney breaks out. Or to put it another way, Kirkby Lonsdale.

More nostalgia from me! (See Ashton Memorial, Bamber Bridge and Fleetwood videos). When I was in my teens I was taken to the Devil's Bridge by a relative with a motorbike and sidecar. It was Easter and meltwater was rushing down the river. I swam of course but not for long. Dunking my head under the water resulted in a massive headache, so I stopped doing it. Bill

I've never been over Devil's Bridge, but I've been under it many times, scuba diving in the river 👌👌
