Didn't realize how bad I needed this today. In a world where things seem more and more impossible to fix; Dustin shows us what real perseverance looks like. Doesn't matter if its locked up, missing parts or been snuffed out...the man will not stop until its alive again. That's making the impossible; possible. Great life lessons here. This man is a national treasure.
Dustin's just a nice young man with an amazingly pleasant demeanor who entertains us all with his ingenuity, perseverance, and knowledge in getting old engines to run--no matter how long they've set accumullating rust and rats. And then someone comes along who dumps flour all over his project whether through stupidity, jealousy, mean-spiritedness, or just having more than a few loose screws. God bless you Dustin for just moving on and not letting it get to you. We respect you for it, and you make the world a better place for being in it. They don't!
ahh, man... time for some cheap Amazon trail cameras or something. That flour mess made me mad from hundreds of miles away. If they are willing to do THAT then you have to assume they are probably not above other forms or sabotage - things that may endanger you. It would be cheap insurance Dustin. Thanks for another great video sir!
Someone get this man a sponsor for starting fluid and PB Blaster! Holy hell he uses a lot! Another great video as always. Your light heartedness about the flour was truly amazing. You sir, are a gift from the car gods! Dont stop!
Yep I thought the same thing. I'd be setting up a Trail Cam with night vision. Pay that person a little visit when I found out who it was. Old motor or not, don't mess with others property.
Tonight we've got a car from the Titanic; Now lets get her back running! Seriously though i think Dustin could actually bring back a titanic car to life; the amount of cars you've successfully recovered is amazing! :D keep em coming!
He had one video a some time ago (I think it was a Chrysler? Mid 50’s) it was literally a crushed up wreck in the middle of nowhere shot up and destroyed. I thought the video was a joke at first, but dang he got her running!
Gotta love the positivity, persistence, and resourcefulness of this young mechanic...finding the "crowbar-punch-combination 4000" tool inside the engine compartment and then using it to remove a frozen intake valve and eventually firing up the old engine is truly awe-inspiring...even despite someone's evil intentions with the flour attack. Nice work...keep it up!
All that flour and heat .... Boy you coulda dropped some water down on that manifold and fried up some flathead pancakes! Lol... All jokes aside, I hope whoever pulled that stunt drove over a nail on their way home. Great video, per usual!
Great memories, Friend’s older brother had one when we were teenagers growing up. This was 1970, and you could find these with some working dings and dents but in decent running shape for 50- 150 bucks. Nobody gave a shit about old pick ups back then, all the kids wanted speed.
Aye. I reckon even Ford EcoBoost will easily give you over 48k miles with normal maintenance, unless your foot on the gas pedal is unreasonably heavy for the poor engine.
@@Robbie-sk6vc Very true. The average 4 cyclinder today puts out more power than most of the 8 cyclinders back then. When I say "back in the day", I'm in no way suggesting they were better by any metric, other than they were arguably more simple. Anyone who was mechanically inclined could probably service one, whereas todays engines are far more complex and nuanced.
Why in the name of God would someone pour flour in your engine?? Someone pissed off at you, or what? I am glad you stuck to it, and got it running again. Great video!
The exhaust was rusted off, probably the noise and/or smoke pissed a neighbor and instead of trying to talk things like a reasonable adult first, they went with the childish knee-jerk reaction of ruining the engine.
I enjoy his videos so much i re-watch many times. On the other video i loved the sound of the Studebaker running so smooth and nice . My uncle had one for years and it was a great pickup until he was rear-ended. I really miss riding around in that truck .
OK, another Dustin Jennings Motor Sport cold start procedure video! Dustin, I was watching another channel where they had an inline 6, like a Ford 250 or somethin, and they took the whole engine out of the vehicle and pounded the pistons out with a sledge hammer. They obviously never watched an episode of "Will It Run" by Dustin Jennings Motor Sports! I told them to go find it. Ha. Thanks Jennings. Fun Video and as always very informative. ben/ michigan
Double fisting the ether, that was awesome. I sometimes think you underestimate the fact you have 300k subscribers, that’s truly something to be proud of and you definitely deserve it.

This is good.
48k miles back in the day was a good life for an engine. It wasn't like today where people get 200k miles, no problem.
On Volvos you used to get tags for every 100k you got I've seen 400-500k before
Aye. I reckon even Ford EcoBoost will easily give you over 48k miles with normal maintenance, unless your foot on the gas pedal is unreasonably heavy for the poor engine.
