Quick update on the 2023 Niro HEV & EV specs (*Not official from Kia yet, but from a reliable source.)

- 105 hp 14.7kgfm (same as 1st generation Niro)
16" wheels 20.8km/L (48.9 mpg)
18" wheels 18.8km/L (44.2 mpg)
2023 Kia Niro EV (arrive early-mid 2022)
150kW (approx 204hp, same as 1st generation Niro)
Battery capacity
358V/180.9Ah (64.7kWh converted)
(1st gen had 356V/180Ah, got slightly larger)

Thanks DK, interesting point of view thought it was the BEV at first when I saw you drive it from outside with barely any noise only the pedestrian sound. Weird though RUclips was putting up subs when you were speaking in English. Any idea when the BEV is coming out? Must be soon I'd imagine at least for you, as I believe it's due in 3rd or 4th quarter in Australia for launch.

@@CarSceneKorea Cannot wait for that one, hope you do at least one of the versions in English as well. :) Not that I mind doing it in Korean just means I will have to read the subs. You mentioned the price has gone up, how much has it gone up by? It couldn't be as pricey as the EV6 I would think since it's not a pure EV architecture still the dual architecture.
@@TassieEV Approximately $3,000 USD compared to the previous model. I go back and forth Korean and English in this video, so decided to put in subs :) Something I'm coming up with for these POVs to come in the future as well!
@@CarSceneKorea Well not as bad an increase as I thought it may be, still not good but could have been worse. If there is any chance you can do a range test on the BEV version would be awesome and a charging test(10-80% or so).

That'd be subjective, but nothing bothered me, and I could definitely notice the cabin getting super quiet with the windows rolled up!

Tell me, in comparison does the Niro 2023 plug in have higher seat height than Sportage 2022? Please measure. The dimension in question concerns the distance between the upper side of the seat and the floor where you rest your feet.
I do not have cars always readily available to measure such in detail, sorry. I do not have manufacturers backing me up with test cars, I will have such info one day my friend.
Really like the Niro/mpg but does it have sufficient highway performance...75 mph?
Of course. That speed no problem!
When you backup does it still have that LOUD beeping sound ?
It has the similar if not the same noise as before :'(

On the hev... At what speed the combustion motor becomes the primary motor?
I don't have the exact number, but it's not the speed but where and when it needs torque, ICE would engage any time necessary.

Nice review, regarding the PRICE , I don't know how are sales of "SUVs-Crossover " in the rest of the world but in Europe and mostly Spain SUVs are the best sellers and maybe that makes prices growing.
People say it's the supply and demand, but wish it'd be more price competitive! We know how Niro is, the only complaint is the price, it seems.
Have you measured 0-100 km/h acceleration?
It's roughly around 10 seconds. Not the fastest car, but rich torque allows swift drives in cities + merging into highways.
Do you like this or the new sportage more?
It's really tough, but if it's not the space and size you're looking for, I'd go with Niro. Easier to drive around, and I think I prefer smaller cars unless they're super tiny.
But when we're comparing the Sportage HEV, it's a whole new different story :P

Excellente voiture si vous l'aimez pour ce qu'elle est, le design, l'espace de rangement, la configuration des sièges et tout. Si Niro coche des cases importantes pour vous, il n'y a presque aucune concurrence pour cette voiture, du moins de la part de Hyundai Motor Group. J'aurais un HEV ou EV.
