Hi I’ve set this up, but the humidity only goes inbetween 34-39 % can’t get it above I had over a cup full of water in there and still wouldn’t budge, there was all Condensation in the lid so do u reckon a faulty humidity reader?
To reset day to beginning you actually have to press the reset button while unplugging it and still hold it while plugging it in and let go once it's plugged. This is what worked 4 me. It'll start reseting itself days and all. The first 18 days of hatching keep humidity level between 50%-60% .i fiind that of I squirt once or twice it's enough to bring the humidity level at that. Start out little. On day 18 remove turner, add a little more water and food the next 3 days keep humidity level 70%-75% and do not open the lid of incubator at all even if some eggs start hatching, do not be tempted to remove the egg shells or whatever. DO NOT open lid only after all eggs hatched and leave chicks for 24-48hrs after hatching. Temperature needs to stay at 37.8- 38C. If the alarm goes off it's usually the humidity so just squeeze a bit of water and watch it go up. It'll take a while to go to normal humidity don't overdo the water.
I appreciate your explanation of the settings. I'm having a difficult time turning off the alarm, you just pushed the set button. Could mine be broken? We haven't used the incubator because it constantly was going off.
@@moniells yes but I can't remember how I did it. Then a week later it died so I no longer have it. I'll never get another one like it. There are far better quality ones on the market. Mine was terrible at keeping the temperature regulated. I had chicks hatch with cross beak, deformed legs and toes because the temperature got too high.
@@bmorgan8382 hello! That’s awful, I managed to get mine to work, I set the humidity to 1 and it stopped beeping. My temperature has always been at 37.5. Chicks are due to hatch on Sunday. Poor chicks, hope they are doing well now 💛🐣
When the alarm goes off it's to alert you humidity level is low. I press the (-) minus button and it stops. I squeeze a squirt of water once or twice and watch for the humidity level rise to 50%-60% first 18 days and 70%-75% last 3 days or so. Remember to remove turner on day 18 and do not open lid till all eggs hatched. I usually wait till day 21 - 23. I've hatched eggs twice already and it's been successful and I'm starting my 3rd time now.

I get same incubator. The fan icon appears and disappears. In the place where the temperature is displayed, the numbers and letters change, saying "FAN". the incubator beeps. Can you tell me what the problem is. Also the heating icon appears and disappears. The temperature rises slightly
Normally I start with about a cup of nice HOT water. Helps get the humidity build quick and keeps the heater from constantly running. If you’ve kept your foam packing you can set the incubator down in it and put the top over it when not wanting to look at the eggs to help maintain the heat and humidity as well. Reset your temp based on a human type digital basal thermometer. Stick through water hole and take temp prior to the heater kicking on. It’s a lot of fun to hatch your own chicks. Prepare for heartache along the way though. There will be times you think the chicks are all going to hatch when they don’t.
Hold the RESET button down and it will change them. It won't reset the settings on the humidity or the temp if you've already changed those. You can also press the reset button to make it reset the hours and do a turn of the eggs. :) Hope this helps!
@@HomesteadingBartramStyle I’m starting mine up and having so much trouble keeping heat up. I’ve started using a blanket over the top and seems to be helping. I have a Mercury thermometer inside of it, the temp is way off so I’ve calibrated it -0.5 and seems to be heating better
@@adriennedyer5532 I've found that if I cover the water hole or "plug it" the humidity stays up pretty good now. But the main thing to keep an eye on is the ring it's putting the water into. Outside ring is primary and inside ring is last three days or "lock down".
Depends on if I’m bringing it up to temp to test or with eggs in it. Typically if starting it up to test and make sure all things working takes about 2 hours max to get to temp. If I have put eggs in for hatching it will take about 24 hours for the eggs to reach temp till the unit is just cycling to maintain temperature.
So mine is not reaching that temperature in 2 hours do u know how can I fix this issue . It’s in a warm room and covered but takes so long to get to temperature. Faster 8 hours till not at temp

I can only put a small amount of water in at a time or the humidity goes to high so I have to continually add water. What about air? I have it in the Styrofoam.
Sometimes the hygrometer in these things aren't the best quality. I've one that won't go above 30% no matter how much hot water I put into it. I now go by the water vapor on the top lid. However you may want to invest in a good brand name thermometer / hygrometer. Now as for the Air question, These units have multiple holes from the under side of them into the main cavity around he center section. It also has the hole that you put the water into. Don't worry too much about that part. The eggs/chicks will be fine. I've had to leave my chicks in the incubator without opening it up for 2 full days before. Just keep an eye on them if need be and make sure they don't start "Panting" if you see that, open for a bi to clear the CO2 and take out chicks. I hope this helps you out. @@jeanwhite5913 Normally condensation requires a certain level of humidity against the cooler air outside of the incubator. It's one reason I leave the front side and controls open to the air and not covered by the Styrofoam packing. The way I judge it is both using a "reference" hygrometer that I had in the past. I used it to keep an eye on it. I usually see an area of about two inches back on the top side lid that has condensation on it. When it's time to raise the humidity, I look for a fine mist across the entire top right after removal of the styrofoam. I do advise however to get an external good hygrometer to verify the unit is working correctly in the incubator. By doing so, you'll be able to keep a better eye on things while learning to incubate eggs. Hope this helps you out. :)
It’s on a 2 hour built in timer to turn the eggs. However if you want to change to update it you can do a quick reset button and it will do an egg turn and reset the counter for it.

@@gimpylou5254 on day 18 remove eggs from turner and remove the egg trays. Put eggs down on the plastic grate and put lid back on. Bump up the humidity to about 60percent or so for the last few days. Then on day 21 you should start seeing pips in the eggs.
How do you keep the humidity at a steady range? We have this incubator and it seems like trying to keep it between 55%-60% for the first 17 days as recommended by our University Extension Office is extremely difficult. Fortunately I am home, but I have to babysit the humidity. It fluctuates constantly!
I don’t think you’re doing anything wrong. If you have water in the tracks inside the most common problem is the Humidistat is probably defective. I have one good one and one bad one in mine. It’s why I recommend a secondary humidistat that is not tied directly to the unit. They keep temp pretty good but the humidistat is not very good.

I am about to hatch out my first clutch of eggs. I am pretty nervous because I have this same incubator and the reviews are terrible for this incubator. I want to make sure I do things correctly. Can you tell me what is a good thermometer to use as a back up one. I don’t trust the temp that the display says.
Reset your incubator temp using a human digital basal type thermometer. Stick thru the water hole after the heater has been OFF for a few min. Then test and reset your controls based on that. I’m lucky with mine and as long as I keep the incubator in the foam it keeps constant 99deg F. 37.2C. At the setting on the controls.

I've had no issues with the heating units at all. In fact when I want some quick humidity in the incubator i'll direct a little spray of water onto it while it's on. These are made so that water shouldn't bother the heating elements.
@@jailenc6674 I've one of the two units here that tends to look as if it sits still. What happens is that the rotation gets out of cycle. If you press the reset button to move the egg turner and then wait till it gets over to the edge and press it again, this will reset it's cycle. I have to do mine about every three days during the incubation.

Hello. I had a 110v product. At home, the current is 220V. If I connect the product to the current, will the product be damaged?
Yes it will be damaged. It's only for 110V. You would need a converter plug to change from 220v over to 110 to use this unit.

The humidistat may not be working correctly on yours. I have one that does and one that doesn’t. Check with an alternative humidistat.

This literally happened to me too. I had to rest everything and it went away. I’m not sure what happened

The only problem with this incubator is the heating unit os in the bottom. It gets wet when you try to clean it and stops working
