Chandler Brown bro it is unbelievably hard. I just played a friend online. He was throwing fastballs down the middle and every swing was late AF. U basically have to swing before it leaves the pitchers hand
Robert Guerrero thanks for the tip I’m using a monitor and I’ve figured out that I needed to use strike zone 2 to see the break on the pitches better so I’m getting there thanks bro.
MarvelousSoundz look at the batters stride. Once you the stride down, just time it when his leg his up and make adjustments and eventually you’ll get some basehits.
Actually, using circle can give the edge as in more vision at the plate which can lead to a base hit if you want a soft blooper to get the man over. More strategy.
I've gotten used to the hitting in this game, I just can't hit dingers. The closest is usually a bounce off the wall or getting caught at the warning track.
I hit alotttt of 2 strike HRs with X and alotttt of first pitch HRs with X too!! I dont really even use □ theres no need to,and when I do it, I always pop it up...and idk if its because in rtts I'm in AA and the pitchers just arent good,or if I'm just getting hitting down quickly... I went from the 2nd easiest difficulty hitting, all the way up to legend for hitting In about 70 games in the season!! I'm crushing HRs,every time I get up with bases loaded I hit a grand slam. Literally almost every time. I want it to be realistic as possible, and don't want to have like 80-90 HRs and 200 RBIs at the end. Which If I keep going at this pace, I dont think I'll finish the season in AA I'll probably be atleast AAA,maybe even the majors hopefully!! I just dk why I'm hitting so easily.... maybe I just got hitting down really good already!! This is the first show game I've ever had,so I didnt have to adjust from previous years or anything, which prob matters and helps a little too!!
Just use the directional interface and with good timing aiming upwards with x u will hit dingers trust me. I hit only 7 hr in like 300 abs in triple and double a. I used directional in the bigs and I already have 5 hr in my first 4 games .
YDINO agreed I also think pitching is harder this year too. Pitches that were just a bit off from where I wanted it to go are going nowhere near where I wanted it to go more often compared to mlb 18.
@@andytihonow3676 I play on allstar always and the computer mashes compared to other years where I could usually hold them from stringing hits together. This year even if I have a 4 run lead, its not safe and any inning could explode on me. I notice when I do pitch the marker shakes a lot more so harder to put where u want it. And with hitting, I can mash one game and next i'm barely getting a hit per inning if I'm lucky. Seems inconsistent but I prob just suck. Wasn't bad at the other versions but this version if def not very good.
I play on Veteran normally and this year I found veteran way to easy in my RTTS I Started the year playing on Vet and managed a .454/37HR / 67RBI Switched to All Star and I finished with a.340/57HR/110 Season .. I like that I ended up with a more realistic line I mean I wanna do good in RTTS but I don't wanna be holding every record and bombing everything every game
I’m ranked pretty high and I can tell you the more you play the better you will be able to immediately recognize pitches you can and can’t hit. That’s a big part of hitting. Sitting o pitches has really helped me play at a high level too.
I’ve found using circle for contact swings is useful for fouling off strikes when you’re down 2, or when you have a speedster and want to keep it on the ground. You’ll get more pop and fly outs though I noticed.
Dude. Your tip of finding a starting spot with the PCI has helped my hitting tremendously. I've always just kept it middle and adjusted, but I've found that I could never catch up to the high stuff and adjusted to low pitches rather easily. Moved my PCI to the upper left quadrant for every AB and I'm hitting much better. Thanks.
See I tried that and it works sometimes but not always. I find when I position my pci somewhere as a starting point (done it high and low) the PCI actually shakes on me. is that normal? Or need a new controller? I wish u could adjust it where it just starts where u want it to and don't have to hold it there.
Hey man I just wanna say thanks for the tip on the camera I'm hitting much better and I'm hitting homeruns better cause I can see where the pitch is going
Very good video!! I’m from England and don’t know the first thing about Baseball, lol, but these tips are really well explained and demonstrated, I know I will benefit from these tips, especially the first 2 about view & hitting type. Thanks. 👍🏻🇬🇧
I used strike zone all last year but so far this year I’ve been using MLB 15 the Show for online. I feel like I can catch up to the fastballs better using it
I used to be so good at hitting now my road to show player always check swings and has only 2 homeruns and it’s a month and a half into being in the mlb
Damn curveballs get me. I always sit FB but sometimes depending on how the pitcher throws I can anticipate the CB and lay-off. Usually I swing and hate myself for it.
Flexb123 lol I’ll try that I’ve actually been doing better using analog and actually taking pitches I think not taking pitches was my issue thanks though
Yea I was having alot of trouble hitting (vs allstar) compared to 18s allstar, so I switched to pure analog and so far it seems alot better. I can't stand chasing the ball with the PCI while trying to decide whether to lay off pitches or not. I also think people that are left handed have an advantage over right handed. Cause i'm right but have to track pci with my left thumb. I'm sure i'd do better if the controller was opposite handed. But with Analog u just have to worry about swinging at good pitches, seems more realistic to me also. Chasing the ball with PCI feels like a shooting game. Saying that about Analog though, I played a game on legend and oh man, u basically have to sell out and start swinging before the ball almost leaves pitches hand. With that speed of pitch, analog is almost useless and buttons is what u need. But Allstar and down Analog is great so far.
Flexb123 yeah I agree zone is so confusing to me, I just can not handle moving it toward the pitch, because it makes it much harder to recognize the pitch, the timing and to see where it will break
@@MarvelousSoundz Yea its more realistic. I go back once in while and use buttons and try to chase but 4 of 5 times I try I just can't be as patient. Then 1 of 5, i'm able to track really well and hit a lot better but mostly I suck with buttons and PCI. I know though, only way to mash with the best guys in the game, you prob need to be a master with buttons and PCI. I've played long enough to know now though its just not for me, just not good enough with it. .
I just got into this game and my friends have been playing this forever and it is very frustrating playing them because they can tell a lot of the time when it is gonna be a ball and I suck at looking at whether it'll be a ball or not
I like batting from the pitcher perspectives (against cpu.) I can usually pick up quickly on how the pitcher is holding the ball, which tips me off to what pitch he's throwing. You can also pick up clues from the catcher sometimes with how he sets up and frames the pitch. You can create custom camera perspectives in practice mode to use later.
the timing throws me way off man. i’m always swinging at BS because i’m trying to be on time. obviously sit fast ball but i’m way in front of off speed stuff
I never use anything but x or square. If you hit those buttons hard you will constantly pop up. Hitting those buttons smoothly and with a firm pressure without smashing it down will help. I use my analog a tiny bit to create torque on the ball.
I havent played an mlb game since triple play 2002 and the game is badass i made it at hitting to all-star+ then go down. But in pitching i am legend plus. The best thing to do is practice on legend til you can get the hang of it and you will eventually get better oh yeah go astros
I would also have to say that hitting is definitely more difficult in this game. I was kind of hoping that they would fix it from MLB 18, and eventhough through one of my other RTTS files I can still hit over 150 HRs in a season, but it gets very irritating when you want to hit a HR (even to help the team when they're down) it dies right on the warning track and is caught. It's even more difficult to get regular base hits to try to raise your BA (because just hitting bombs isn't going to help your average) and especially to help your team because it always helps if you're on base and your teammates can drive you in, and *again* 9 times out of 10 it's a groundout. I tried, wedge PCI and even guess pitch combined, and even then it didn's seem to help. Oh well, I still have the 2017 edition where hitting is much easier.
You have to swings much faster its kinda jacked up how much your manually guessing while hitting and this is with guess pitch off. You can not look it in. And strikezone camera is for those monitors using guys. I like a challenge I still play on my 40 lunch. I like retro in MLB infinity 17 but fish eye, Show 16, offset work pretty good for me.
I hate the moments when the challenge is "hit a home run" because I always get deep flies to the warning track or doubles of the wall and they are always so close to a home run but end up falling about 5 or 10 feet short and it's so annoying.
Dumb question, but should you try ti flick the pci where you see the ball going or actually keep your thumb on it the whole time and try to aim for the ball?
Question Koogs on pitchers energy when playing diamond dynasty how do you get back to full meter energy on your bullpen? It seems like I go into every game with my bullpen low on energy even if I pitch a shutout with my starter or complete game. I’ve tried playing a couple conquest games in a row to see if that works but it turned out not to. What do I do about that?
Lol he did hit 7 in a row at one point after I read this comment. Good eye. I play the full season against cpu and yes this or analog. I like both. It just depends. My problem in the beginning was not laying off bad pitches I wasn't patient. After this I've been more patient than usual. I still like swinging at 1st pitches a lot still lol. I was like that when I played baseball my young adult life lol. Anyway it's been a lot tougher this year hitting than previous Show games.
Idk dude I am doing really well and I think it has to do with the pitch speed on cpu last year is similar to the pitch speed on online this year, unlike last year where I was really early on cpu when doing challenges after playing a ranked seasons game

You’re either really late, or really early, and if you somehow manage to time the swing well, you still somehow line out to the outfield
right this game is ass
Emmanuel Reyes you’re ass I hit doubles all the time you just gotta be good and not blame a game
