I have, like a lot of people I suspect, got back into darts due to a certain teenage player after 35 years! What helped me a little was to place a dart in the 60 and just aim at that. I managed to get 180 eventually this way, then removed dart and kept at it. Then over a weekend I got 3 180's so feel that helped, this was with about a month and a bit tho of starting to play again. I still use this as a practice routine once I start hitting my favorite 26 again! Just keep at it and have a break from 180 hunting so as not to get frustrated and remember to do your doubles practice.
Yeah I am trying to do other things other than just 180s - got bullseyes and blindfold challenges coming - make sure to subscribe to see my progress! :)
work on your grouping ,throw the first dart don't matter where it goes then aim the next 2 darts at the flight of that first dart this helped me get tighter more consistent grouping. i also play 201 and try to check out in 9 darts this help with scoring ,doubles and the maths side of the game
You have a good thing going here man. I know it’s hard when its not your natural disposition but all you need is a shred of confidence to take this channel and your game to the next level. Headspace is half the battle and you can do it.
If u don’t feel fully comfortable with ur throw don’t aim for a number yet just focus on throwing the dart and how it feels. Then once it does feel better releasing ur dart then u should go for triples e.c 👌🏼
@@DartGuru88 I agree with Travis the throw itself looks pretty solid, as I mentioned in the other comment I think the unstableness comes from the very fast backwards draw which negates your aim. Even if it feels bad at the start I would recommend slowing down the back draw, maybe even aim with the dart drawn further back than you do today and I think you will see improvement. Try to aim for the center of the top iron and if that fails at first just try to aim for the big part of the 20 (choose a little dot as target, not the entire area). Don't focus on height but rather on throwing straight, height can be adjusted in how you hold the dart/how much power you use and doesn't have much to do with the throw itself
When you draw back you should hold for a fraction of a second to control it. You currently aim and then kinda ruin it by making a very fast back and forward motion, use that draw back to slowly control the dart and really feel the throw
@@DartGuru88another thing that really helps me is to not look at 'the board' but to really focus on a target. In my case I 100% focus on the center/top iron of the treble, almost put a mental dot right on the center of the iron and try to only focus on it when throwing
@@sebastiaanvandingenen1472 yeah it’s weird because sometimes I’m very consistent especially on 18s but 20s always off, any way you think I can make this series more engaging?
@@DartGuru88 maybe keep track of your stats and show progression over time, some conclusions on what works and doesn't work, a better camera angle, maybe throw some online games and cut them up to show progress
Throw a bit slower, really get your arm ready and release. Your last throw of the three darts at 0:56 was solid, try to replicate that and really aim for the top wire of the treble 20. It will come bud

Thanks man :) I’m still quite early on in my practice so hopefully if I get people can see it can be done :)
i just started today so i will be following along with you and watching along what darts are using and how did you settle on those darts
Thankyou, make sure to subscribe if you like this concept and to see my other episodes :)
Just starting playing myself.
Nice! Make sure to subscribe to follow my journey and tips :)
@@DartGuru88 Absolutely.
Where are you at bro?!
Still not good at darts - haven’t played in a month, but new video soon :)

Ur throw looks very good tho maybe u should just extend ur arm a bit more but everyone throws different it’s what feels right for you ☺️
@@TravisMilton-ol1ye thanks :) my throw feels generally quite unstable but there are times I feel confident with it
