That's not how US Bangla 211's crash played out. The pilot and copilot were confused on which runway to land at: 20 or 02. The air traffic controller was trying to clear all planes from runway 20 when US Bangla 211 requested to land on that runway. The air traffic controller told the crew that there are still planes on that runway so he told them to land on runway 02. Confused, the crew of the plane thought he meant runway 20, which they tried to go towards. After making preparations for the landing, they told the air traffic controller they didn't see the runway. He told them the correct path to runway 02, but the crew thought he was talking about runway 20. After seeing 20, the crew tried to land on it but it was still occupied by other planes so they tried to make a go around until the air traffic controller told them to turn right, still confused about which runway they were landing at. Amongst all of the confusion, the plane touched down between the two runways and skidded off into a football field. The plane never came near the airport tower, as seen in the video.
