Both are great songs.. but I will put Teri pyari pyari surat ko.. which is a romantic melodious ahead of Chadni ka chand ho.. also romantic but it is bit slower song in tunes.. SJ was the king of melody and modern songs in that era.. probably their tunes was 100 years ahead of their time.. specially Jaikishen was a god gifted talent and he had the ability to product one song's numbers of tunes which he often used his other new lyrics.. Ravi was an equally talented musician had ability to create a tunes in minutes.. All these was possible they had Rafi Sb in their disposal to make their songs from best to great..
Honestly, We have no idea that in what context Rafi Sahab said that Teri pyari pyari song is bad compared to Chaudvi ka chand title song. Sometimes enthusiastic words in praise of some song are taken out of context and taken as criticism for another song. I listened to both songs again as I have hundreds of times in past. Honestly, both songs are immortal. Anyhow, greatness of Rafi was, that he could never sing a song, for which , the word, “bad”, could even ever be used. In some ways, every song by him was iconic. He was pillar of golden era of Indian music. Songs, today, in 2024, are definitely uncouth as are 2024 singers.
