No surprises that “You’re A Customer” is a big moneymaker for him considering the main part of the track people want to re-use is their own recording (and doesn’t contain the few actual samples EPMD added sparsely on top)
Eric Sermon got 4 decades of information & knowledge. One of the best so far has catalog & moving in 2023. More guests with knowledge & traps being unaware & uninformed in business
Hearing these great stories from Erick Sermon is golden!!! I live for this kind of music history. Especially when it’s coming from artists I respect. The artists from The Golden Era Of Hip Hop!!! #SaluteMathHoffa‼️
I just subscribed yesterday. Huge Eminem fan and I saw em talking about math Hoffa breaking down his bars and the way he spoke about them, made me a fan.
I want to see the Dr. DRE recording process. -I normally lie down my lead vocals 1st. -Dub it 2nd. -Put emphasis on bar with a lot of syllables, to highlight the full pronunciation 3rd. - Adlibs 4th That's just Me though, because I like the "Stereo effect" once a song has been Mixed and Mastered. Eric B was looking for an MC so he went to meet Freddie Foxx but he wasn’t home, so someone told him about some dude named Rakim so he went to meet him instead. And the rest is history.
I have loved Erick Sermon interviews since the late 80's on Yo Mtv Raps and such and His funk Flex and Hot 97 interviews etc been a fan of Epmd wayyyy before the Net.
I can’t remember the year exactly(maybe 1990), but I met E and P at the Shoreline Amphitheater in the Bay early in they career. After that I met L.O.N.S. w Busta around 1993 (also in the Bay). The only rappers I ever shook hands with in my 48 years. Lookin at all of them now, they were the cream that hit the top. Special special special in the culture. Thanks for giving us all a reason to not walk away from hip hop
There’s 2 versions. One with just 50 and one with Capone and Nore sharing the 3rd verse but on both versions you can hear Nore’s background vocals on the hook

Kool Keith is the greatest that ever done it. He's has Many different albums under Many different labels. And has came out with 3 albums at once under different labels, using different names. His fan base comes in all different races, but mostly white college kids. They love his weird style of raps of space, feces, and sex. So that's just 100% proof that there's no limit of age in hip-hop. And he has well over 35 albums. He has the most albums in hip-hop period . We love and respect you ERICK SERMON AND DR.OCTAGON.
50 wouldnt have been what he is today without Em and Dre. Someone else signing him would have just ruined his legacy and what we know of him today. You cant rewrite history and act like it would have the same outcome with different circumstances.
I felt like if 50 was careful enough to ask certain Drug Dealers about “Ghetto Qu’ran”? He wouldn’t have been shot and kept his career he already had. Cause think about it, Cormega did a song called “Glory Days” talking about Alpo, Rich Porter, Fat Kat being the richest guy in his building? He ain’t get disciplined for that 🤔! Maybe 50 went overboard about it
