After yesterday's announcement of an official (actual) sequel, I had to come here and listen to one of the top 3 best themes in the og game! I love how even more epic the second part sounds omg

This is one of those games I never get tired of playing. No matter how many years go by, I will never forget what an amazing experience playing this game is. Every time I start from the beginning I have that feeling that I'm about to be transported into a world of gorgeous color and beautiful music... this game is a masterpiece.
Man oh man, i might not remember everything that happens in the game but the music certainly resonated with me. same goes for disney movies; you forget the plot and everything then suddenly you are singing the words to a song you havent heard in 10 years XD
i wish i could erase everything i knew about okami and experience it for the first time again. i don’t think there will ever be another game like it at all. that’s both a good thing and a bad thing, good because this game is an experience like no other...and bad because every time i beat it, it makes the game ending even more painful. i dread coming to the end of the game because, i don’t want to leave the world of the game. okami came to me at a very difficult time in my life, right when i needed a game like it. i’ve replayed it countless times, it’s like comfort food for me. and every time i replay it, it means a little bit more to me.
Have you ever played or heard of Xenoblade Chronicles, I personally love Okami, and then my brother got me to play Xenoblade, and I loved it, the storyline, the character development, it was beautiful.

I found listening to the music during travel is a very awesome experience. Nothing like driving though Salt lake city when it's snowing hard and the Kamui theme playing.
Love this song so much, especially the second half where the war drums kick in. It really gets the blood pumping and all the other layers that come in then make it feel so rich on top of something that was already amazing. I love the mix of the traditional Japanese instruments and the orchestral elements. The whole soundtrack is beautiful.
I never eally payed too much attention to music in games. That is, until Okami. This game made me realize how awesome some game music is, and how much it contributes to the entire experience. Thank you Okami, you are a timeless gem in the world of games
I played this game the first time when I was 10.I can remember that too well, because I was just so surprised because it always happen something you don´t expect.And now after 4 years it is still my favorite game, and I always have to cry at the end even if I played it so much times now
The first time I played this game on the Wii, I legitimately had no idea that not only does Orochi isn't even CLOSE to being the final boss, but that I had an entirely new zone to explore! If I already liked Okami after Orochi, running in Ryoshima Coast at full speed to the beat of those drums was the moment I fell in love with this game, I still get chills when the drums kick in.
eXe654 I picture myself on horseback running through the coast. The sounds of the taiko drums are the horse hoofbeats hitting the sand as we race the sandy shores. I can smell the salty sea air and running free like the wind. I can almost picture the joyful cries of falcons/sea kites riding along the sky currents. The beginnings of a journey with promising adventure ☺️ The Feels!
I feel like all of Okami's songs are designed to make you feel sadness, happiness, and power mixed all together. After finishing the game I feel so nostalgic listening to them again
Running wild at full speed through the Ryoshima plains/coast with the second half of this song following your steps gotta be the best feeling ever in a videogame.
If it wasn't for Chuggaaconroy's LP of this game I would still be out of such a wonderful game. And, thanks, to putting Ryoshima 1& 2 tracks together in one piece, it is one of my favorite pieces from the game (aside from Red Helmet Extermination and Old Man Orange's Flower Dance). In fact, this particular piece (technically pieces since it is 2 tracks in 1) is inspiring me with a couple of characters for Exalted.

I'm here from Chuggaaconroy's LP, and my god, what a masterpiece this game is, and that's from someone who's (unfortunately) never had the chance to play it. The graphics, the story, the music, the characters... Everything is a work of art in this game (no pun intended).
I cried after I finished all the extras in Ryoshima and N. Ryoshima, because I was going to say goodbye forever after getting the 100th stray bead from Kamui and was going all over the countryside just to bid farewell to all the places. The music playing while running around and spamming the bark button as a farewell... Too powerful.
To me, this song speaks to me of just running free. I remember I quit my last crappy job and as I was walking down the hall, this song popped into my head. I just felt so relieved, that I was finally freeeeeeeeee!
You're right, this has to be out of all of the songs (and there are a lot of fantastic ones, too) this is the best song. (Well, to me!) It gets even better when the drums and everything is added in! I love just to run around, run on the water and jump off of everything when I go to Ryoshima Coast! A very powerful song indeed! I love Okami!
I liked to listen to this and just keep running around the area and jumping, doing nothing important, just to enjoy the music and views. What a masterpiece.
The soundtrack of Okami has something for everyone, it's absolute beauty and manages to capture every emotion possible, whether it be sadness or a feeling of triumph. The songs are perfect for the various settings of the game and no theme in it will disappoint, if you haven't experienced this masterpiece yet, do yourself a favor and get it. if you hate it for graphics, try it anyway, you won't regret it.
@HorseLuver098 same here man. geez i was just watching a videogame video-chart when all of a sudden okami's music kicked in, i didn't expect that and i started crying. okami is truly the most artful and emotionally moving videogame in the world.
Plenty of devs from Clover went on to form Seeds, which eventually evolved into Platinum Games, and produced more awesome games like Vanquish, Bayonetta and Infinite Space. It's great to know that the spirit that went into making Okami lives on in some form.
@Nagao21 You've said it. Okami is not just a video game, it's art. I remember playing this game every single day in some summer holiday, man that was a very very good time in my life. Listening to this, many memories are rushing back, I think I will play this again in the very very near future.
I have to say, if I had to pick a game that was more a work of art than any other, I would pick this game. It just... for one, the art style. The story, as well. The music... the music! I mean... it's just great. All of it. And I'm finally going to get to play it soon :D

I bought the HD version on steam and the only complain I have about the game is that the music could be a lot louder! It's not fair if I don't get to blast this masterpiece and many other songs in the game.
The /really/ beautiful games is the ones that can evoke all emotions in you, happiness, laughter, sadness, fear and actually more. Good examples could be this and the Mother-series among others
Just be thankful there's any new version. The DS version could be a stepping stone to a new console version. However, I don't see how they'd ever top the original.
