i recently got my cdl and signed my local books, cant wait to join!
Is it true that you have to learn manual or can you have an automatic restriction?
@@javiersantos201 as far as i know it depends on what jatc your local is under. in missouri valley jatc you need to manual endorsement to make it into the apprenticeship program but you can work as a groundman with jsut an automatic restiction
I'll be coming as soon as I get my DD214
I graduated from line school. I am still searching for an apprenticeship. One thing to do is to not give up the search.
No sir... I start cal nev on Monday after 3.5 years of being a ground man here for the 1245. No line school though so maybe ull get in quicker than I.
@@paullewis3345 Congrats!! I wish you well on your journey!
@@paullewis3345 how hard is the climbing class, is there a test u have to pass at the end of the week??
Doors are all open now.
Some guys took 10 years to get in
Some guys it took 1 year. Its a lottery 👍
@@paullewis3345 hey, was the work consistent with 1245? I’m in northern cal near Roseville. And thinking of signing the books. Just curious on the work consistency and the travel distances too. Any info is much appreciated thanks!
I thought there was a shortage of lineman? Why can it be difficult to find an apprenticeship
I live in WA and really wanna become an apprentice lineman. Do I stand a chance without going to line school?
Yes dont let anyone tell u other wise. I got my cdl, osha 10, flag cert, cpr first aid by myself never went to school. I recently interviwed with cal nev back in sept and ranked 214. I am now in the 30s they took alot of guys recently, dnt give up.
@@apprenticelinemen4196 thank you!
@@apprenticelinemen4196 looks like me and u just got in huh?
@@apprenticelinemen4196 hey im about to apply for cal nev where do I get my osha 10, flag cert, and cpr first aid
@@apprenticelinemen4196 any update on your position for a call back? Just curious as to how long it took for you.
I'm with 1245 right now, but live in SoCal. I would like to work closer to home until I get into SCE. Is there a lot of work for groundman at 47 on book 1? I almost have my 2000 hours at 1245, and want to switch to 47 but don't know how consistent the work is at 47. Can anyone lend any insight as to the work available at 47 to Groundman on book 1?
I just started this research and I just missed April applications. How many times per year do they open?
Pretty sure only once a year for CalNev
I’m going to NLC, august 8th. Def interested in CalNev once I get out. Does anyone know what time of year they accept applications? How many times a year?
Once a year at the start of April
Do you really need to be great at algebra?
No
Don forgets to mention that when you sign it is a 15k contract to stay on the outside. And it builds interest until you top out which it comes to 22k you will owe them when you are finished so its a lie that its all free. Plus they don't give a fuck about their apprentices at all. He is totally lying to these people about a lot of this shit he says.
