Wow, what absolutely fantastic acting from Charlotte Jordan and Ryan Prescott. The emotions were so raw, the screams from Ryan were harrowing and made me cry my eyes out. I don’t often enjoy Coronation Street these days because I feel it’s gone too far downhill and repetitive but this episode stood out to me tonight. Well done to all at Corrie.
I can speak from a burn’s patient perspective and tell you this brought back flashbacks of when 2 lithium batteries exploded in my trouser pocket and set my leg on fire. The pain is indescribable. Having that sort of pain on your face and subsequent scarring is something that would put a person on the edge of suicide. It really truly would. I feel sorry for anyone who suffers severe burning. I still have much discomfort sitting with pressure around the wound which is coming up to being 4 years old. This scene if anything was underplayed but was nonetheless still well acted by Ryan. Expect his character to sink to the bottom for a at least a year or so. It’s not something you get over quickly. And on the face is the worst area of all. At least I can hide my upper leg scarring. Acid attackers are pure selfish scumbags that should be locked up in solitary confinement for a very long time. They don’t deserve freedom.

I am not the easiest person to shock, or feel scared by anything really..however this episode did shock and scare me, genuinely felt like I was there. Excellent acting all round. I knew Justin was going to do something but not this, hats off to everyone.

I was literally shaking the whole way through the episode after this point, I think in Ryan’s mind he was jumping in front of a drink to stop her dress getting ruined, no way would he have known it was gonna be acid otherwise he’d of probably gone for a tackle instead

The help that the victim receives in the first few minutes is crucial, that's why people need to learn what to do - obviously what they're aiming to teach through this episode. She learnt first aid after her little brother died for that same reason, cause you can't just wait to get through to 999 or for an ambulance to arrive. Ryan kept touching the acid with his hand which was awful to see cause I'll bet that will affect his employment too. I think my shouting at the screen just shows how well-acted the scene was. But one thing which was slightly incorrect was that the water was flowing onto Ryan, he would have just been spreading the acid across his body instead of washing it away.
Finally some good acting and a realistic storyline for once. Usually the storylines are meant to reflect real life but often feel like propaganda to me

It's been 10 years since Karl Munro started The Rovers fire in March 2013 and now Justin attacked Daisy and Ryan with acid in The Rovers in March 2023.
As far as am aware, you’re meant to put cold water on the burns and cut the clothes off the burned area and call an ambulance but I’m not sure if that’s definitely what you do or not. In this episode it looked like daisy was being told what to do by the 999 operator before the paramedics got there.
You're meant to put the burn under running cold water for at least 20 minutes. It cools down but also washes away the acid. Corrie got this slightly wrong as the acid would have been running from Ryan's face onto his body, the water should run directly off the burnt area onto the shower floor so it doesn't cause them more harm.
His screams are absolutely terrifying, Ryan is an amazing actor and this scene shook me so much. He is really incredible

As far as am aware, you’re meant to put cold water on the burns and cut the clothes off the burned area and call an ambulance but I’m not sure if that’s definitely what you do or not. In this episode it looked like daisy was being told what to do by the 999 operator before the paramedics got there.
You're meant to put the burn under running cold water for at least 20 minutes. It cools down but also washes away the acid. Corrie got this slightly wrong as the acid would have been running from Ryan's face onto his body, the water should run directly off the burnt area onto the shower floor so it doesn't cause them more harm.
