Papi's a NY'er (Fairfield is about 25 mi. outside the Bronx) and the overwhelming majority of people keep their doors locked at all times. I live 5 mi or so from Manhattan on the Jersey side, and I do the same. When I visit my brother who lives in the suburbs, he gets annoyed with my constant door locking. It's just a habit, and it's probably the same with papi. That doesn't make him any less of a creep, though.
