He’ll go to the Dodgers. I mean, why wouldn’t he? They already have Japanese players, they’re popular in Japan, and all they do is spend spend spend. I’m pretty much over the Dodgers. It kinda takes all of the fun out of the season.
@@peteray3967 what are you talking about? I didn’t call him a casual, I was responding to his nonsense that I was one. I’ve been a diehard baseball fan for 40 years, I’m hardly a casual. What I’m not a fan of are super teams with unlimited spending and no one around the league can stand a chance to either win, or keep their talent because they can’t afford to keep them or even compete with them on a monetary basis.
Although I get anyone wanting to play for the Dodgers right now, why would Sasaki go to a team where (1) at best he would be the third most prominent Japanese player, and (2) he is unlikely to get a slot in the starting rotation? I don't know much about his personality, but if he wants to be a star and/or an ace and/or maximize his potential sponsorship deals, the Dodgers should be his last destination.
The kid just turned 23 years old. Sasaki is coming over early because he needs a few seasons to adjust to American baseball, lifestyle, culture, etc. That's the reason why he's signing a minor league contract. He doesn't plan to be part of full rotation for a few years.
A dream come true for Braun. Having one ultra super team is great for everyone.
Roki "The Dragon" Sasaki! Come on let's go Dodgers! Get it done!
Let's see 120 wins. The glorious end of all competition! Or japanese "sportsmanship."
