As for no one wanting BYU, not sure if you heard but BYU has been in talks with some great conferences. BYU is a special school with special circumstances. It goes along with the same thing on why both schools left the MW. Wanted better things and more oppertunities. Can't deny that independence is a better option than the MW. Utah's path is easier than BYU's though, anyone saying independence is better is lying or a Notre Dame fan. Count your blessing where you have them.
It makes us a mid major team with a poor Off. Coordinator and an elite Def Coach. It makes BYU deservedly #2 in the state, but #1 in national recognition (for better or worse). When people think of Utah they think along the lines of Vanderbilt, Ohio State, Wake Forest. Teams part of good conferences that don't quite get up there.
