I am using the same 1.0 L TSI engine in my Vento for more than 2.5 years. Most of the driving is in Delhi NCR. Fuel efficiency I m getting in NCR is somewhere between 9- 12.5 kmpl and on highway I easily achieve from 18 - 21 kmpl. Driven almost 50000 kms in 2.5 yrs. Overall the engine offers a great driving dynamics and ride quality.
@@sintovincent8918 Its Manual and traffic is more or less the same as in Bangalore i guess. My daily commuting is around 30 km on average including some heavy and ongoing traffic as well . If the traffic is all bumper to bumper then it will reduce to 8-9 kmpl. For Service I availed 4yrs package of Rs. 30k that include 1 time battery replacement, 2 times wiper & brake pads replacement, 4 times service cost including all comsumables. 3 services done till now without any extra cost. After that service will be around between 7-10k for every 15k kms approx. 🙏
Agreed, I get similar numbers except in my city I get 9-11 in moderate to heavy traffic with 1L AT taigun. Some of my colleagues get 9Kmpl regularly in their Honda City CVT or other NA AT cars etc

Adas, 360 camera, auto sensing wipers, even sun roof for that matter, not all of us need it even in a top end model......sorry to say but influencers today are nitpicking and saying ye gadi mein adas, 360 camera nai hai etc etc and make it a deal breaker.... Which should be not..... I am not targeting anyone here but it's become a norm.... What we need in a good car is a to get the basics right... Good suspension quality, better fit and finish, better engine, breaking and gearbox and decent milage ..... I wish one day consumers get an option to pick and choose features you want and what you can exclude as per your liking..... That way I get things per my liking and only pay for what features you go with.....
Citroen and Jeep (Stellantis) tried what you just suggested, and they’re struggling to survive. Look at what happened to Ford and Chevrolet, who kept selling outdated cars with little innovation or new features. Skoda and VW are no different - they’re barely making a dent in terms of sales. On the other hand, look at where Kia and MG are. A brand doesn’t dictate what customers want at a specific price point; it’s the other way around. Cheers!
True... At the end basically it's the car companies who control and has the final say instead of a market where consumers should be able to choose... Hence what is being advertised in the paid media is very very crucial for end users to make a buying decision... Your videos are still very nice, but some immature influencer are literally market stuff only based on interior quality, electronics and gimmicks it maybe their own choice but old school cars like ford are so unfortunate that even by making just the basics right could not survive coz influencer and marketing ne logo ki soch badal di.... Good marketing for a company is to bring a feature or product and make consumer feel they should have it. ADAS is not a deal breaker and not even a bad reverse parking camera.... but ... what is skoda doing to educate its customers ??? i dont think anything . Influencers will influence and not educate. I think a great engine and driving exp is all that matters in a car and nothing else but you figure this only after u find it exists.
It's not about features, at the end it's the vfm factor and the reach of the company that would matter. Fronx has basic features at reasonable price and it's a hit .

But when it comes to the Germans we talk about the build quality and it's engine performance, ownership experience, the thrill of driving etc...... The thing is today end user is being served things they don't need... Many a times companies come up with face lifts and just raise the price..... 80% of the videos out there talk about screen size, instrument cluster, moon/sunroof, adas, hud, and so many cosmetics changes.... Ultimately not showcasing the drivability factor and fun to drive elements....... People are doing drag races on empty roads somewhere and our smart viewers pick the car on that basis many a times... Real world usage is often ignored in city traffic how the car dimensions help cut corners or menover.... Visibility, breaking.....and so many other things....... There are many old school no nonsense influences who are good.... But in the world of views and trp they are trapped and paid many a times to say stuff that may not matter........... Honda is another brand who don't experiment much like their city and don't go all out with make over... As they Say if it ain't broken don't try to fix it... But then human psychology loves eye candy stuff and start comparing, forgetting that more is not always good or may not serve the purpose..... We lost excellent companies because of this mind shift.... Ford, Chevrolet.... Superb cars they had.... Irony....

I think it is the Polo/Fabia successor practically, as far as India is concerned. Polo/Fabia and even Seat Ibiza come with the same 1.0 TSI in Europe. The only difference would be Polo/Fabia’s lower ground clearance and hatchback body style, which won’t do much in the Indian market.
Just the driving enthusiasm and engine is what this car is offering. Essential features are missing and which makes indian options a better choice. Happy to own Nexon!

Want to buy Top-end Automatic between Kylaq, Skyros (understand will be out for test drive in Feb) or 3XO. 75% Highway & 25% in Mumbai city/suburbs drive. Budget is not an issue. Considering overall features, which one would you recommend to buy ?
Skoda Kylaq will certainly offer the best Driving Dynamics & Safety. But disappointed with Skoda Signature Variant's offerings Misses out on primarily - Reverse Camera, Electrically operated ORVMs, Hill hold Control, 60:40 Rear Seat Comfort, Auto AC,...... Should wait for some time as they will have to offer because of competition & once there Sales nos. starts declining. They will be forced to offer to stay in the Sub 4 Mts C-SUV segment.
Signature also misses out button start.. brochure says No keyless entry. So that's a big bummer. Usable automatic costs over 15Lakh. Too much for the price and then no 360 or ADAS. In this price Mahindra offering 1.2L TDgi.
Considering the best TGDI engine and a strong 5 * rating skoda has created a healthy competition in the market under 10 lakh price point . Lets see how they deliver the base and signature variants which looks quite VFM
✅ 446L boot space is highest at par with sedans like Hyundai Verna(500L) & Honda City(500L) ✅ 17inch Alloys are biggest in segment. ✅ 114HP Engine is equal to Fiat Linea TJet(114HP). ✅ 0-100 in 11secs is also at par with Fiat Linea TJet(10secs) Hyundai Verna(10secs). It's a car that's above 1 segment. You can't compare it with Tata Punch(87HP), Maruti Fronx(87HP) with boot space of under 330Litres & 15 or 16 inch alloys. ✅ Kylaq can do Mumbai Bangalore, Mumbai Delhi trips with ease with punchy engine, solid safety, massive boot space, amazing ride and handling with cornering capabilities. It won't turn turtle-upside down like other SUVs on corners. ✅ If one doesn't worry on some features here and there. This car is best under 4m product.
I agree that steering is too light with VW Skoda 2.0 cars, even though still very precise and better than anything in competition. I bought a taigun 1.5 dsg and immediately got that set up through an obd setting and voila you get the original vw steering back. The sad part is that this option is not given in the infotainment display even though its just a 2 sec job and all you have to do is choose the right steering setting in the car software.
My job is to state facts, even if they sound harsh. Buying a car is still a huge investment in India, and my job is to provide both the pros and cons of a product. No brand is here for charity including your favourite ones. You can continue to call me whatever you wish, but that won’t change my style of reviewing.

(Driving pleasure, safety I am sure will be best in segment rivals, features and fit & finish would be more than satisfactory) - The passive safety features aren't covered by most reviewers, GNCAP rating can't measure passive safety, like chassis stability and over engineering done to keep car & occupants safe proactively. (VW / Skoda cars don't get into the accident as much in the first place as compared to other cars, that's an example of passive safety) - The review shouldn't start with missing features, rather you should talk about features available first and then mentions what's missing. - The improvement in erstwhile Skoda customer service and current should be highlighted too, Indians are more scared than enthusiastic. Kia Syros is going to create new segment that sits between seltos and sonet, so other sub 4m cars shouldn't be compared with Syros (the pricing will be much higher too)
Exactly my point. I think it would be better to go for the RS edition when it comes out after 2 years with 1.5 turbo. There is no point changing from 1 litre TGDI to a 1litre TSI.
I wish People buy Kylaq, it will make others make better cars. Somehow KiA Syros if comes with good saftey rating will be a tough competition. KIA interior and whole package esp diesel is too good on paper. Give all VENTILATED seat instead of Powered electric seats. Manual seats are much more reliable and fast. These days traffic too much and driving manual is TOTAL BAWASEER

Yes the Exterior is not so attractive but what it offers inside is completely different experience . When i say about KIA people talk about safety but they don't realise that all kia cars has Standard Safety FEATURES from base model be it SELTOS SYROS SONET. You can go on website and see the Check mark in COMPARE TRIM OPTIONS ✔️. None of them give ALL DISK BRAKES, ABS , EBD, TRACTION CONTROL, 6 AIR BAGS as Standard from Base Variant

Average kushaq 1l at me city me mera 10-12 aata ac ke saath. First 1 2 min me rich fuel burn karti, like choke on a scooter, cooling bhi karni hoti, fir average keeps increasing. Highway par 14 in day with ac, spirited driving. Night me 17.5. Meri gaadi abhi sirf 1.5k km chali hai, should improve by 1 or 2
@@KarthikBharathi it doesn’t exist anymore. Some of the earlier Newer cars couldn’t take adulterated Indian petrol that’s why the error. Though everything was replaced under warranty for the affected parties.

Bought the new dzire a month back after thinking more about kylaq and still feel happy for my dzire. Mileage is more important for me and also maruti peace of mind in long run.
I had a Skoda in 2016 with window issues and it used to get stuck at random heights. Skoda wale aaj tak window issue theek nahi kar paye hain apni gadiyon ke. If I am in the market I am not buying their product... I think we also need to normalize, beech me bachche (0-12 years) ki car seat lagne ke baad 2 log aur beth payenge ya nahi...

I agree that steering is too light with VW Skoda 2.0 cars, even though still very precise and better than anything in competition. I bought a taigun 1.5 dsg and immediately got that set up through an obd setting and voila you get the original vw steering back.
The sad part is that this option is not given in the infotainment display even though its just a 2 sec job and all you have to do is choose the right steering setting in the car software.

- Kylaq should be benchmarked only against its segment rivals (Venue, Brezaa, Nexon) and not Polo, Fabia & Kushaq. (Driving pleasure, safety I am sure will be best in segment rivals, features and fit & finish would be more than satisfactory)
- The passive safety features aren't covered by most reviewers, GNCAP rating can't measure passive safety, like chassis stability and over engineering done to keep car & occupants safe proactively. (VW / Skoda cars don't get into the accident as much in the first place as compared to other cars, that's an example of passive safety)
- The review shouldn't start with missing features, rather you should talk about features available first and then mentions what's missing.
- The improvement in erstwhile Skoda customer service and current should be highlighted too, Indians are more scared than enthusiastic.
Kia Syros is going to create new segment that sits between seltos and sonet, so other sub 4m cars shouldn't be compared with Syros (the pricing will be much higher too)

Exactly my point. I think it would be better to go for the RS edition when it comes out after 2 years with 1.5 turbo. There is no point changing from 1 litre TGDI to a 1litre TSI.

I wish People buy Kylaq, it will make others make better cars. Somehow KiA Syros if comes with good saftey rating will be a tough competition. KIA interior and whole package esp diesel is too good on paper.
Give all VENTILATED seat instead of Powered electric seats. Manual seats are much more reliable and fast.

I'm wondering if it would make sense to replace my Polo with this. While I'm happy with my Polo, Kylaq might offer some improvements in overall stance, legroom, and boot space. Appreciate your advice.
If you’re looking for more space, then the Kylaq is definitely a step up! But that Polo of yours is way more enjoyable to drive.

When you are comparing features with the competitors, you should compare fun to drive element with competitors also with the price.
Well in that regard, I said it’s a great car to drive. But how many buyers in this segment actually go for dynamics? Had that been the case, the sales numbers would have been absolutely different.

Yes the Exterior is not so attractive but what it offers inside is completely different experience . When i say about KIA people talk about safety but they don't realise that all kia cars has Standard Safety FEATURES from base model be it SELTOS SYROS SONET. You can go on website and see the Check mark in COMPARE TRIM OPTIONS ✔️. None of them give ALL DISK BRAKES, ABS , EBD, TRACTION CONTROL, 6 AIR BAGS as Standard from Base Variant

@@KarthikBharathi it doesn’t exist anymore. Some of the earlier Newer cars couldn’t take adulterated Indian petrol that’s why the error. Though everything was replaced under warranty for the affected parties.
