The experienced fighter drops to his knee to get a break if he is shaken and unable to defend himself. Referee didn't make a mistake, he does not interrupt while the fighter is protecting himself in any way.
@mickeymomighty5660 referee is supposed to step in if the fighter is not intelligently defending themselves and at least give a standing count. From 7:18 on tell me what part of his defense seems intelligent?
@@TukNasty Rule of intelligent defense applies in MMA, here it is a little different, the referee does not interrupt while the fighter is on his feet and protects his head with raised hands. Here the referee could stop when the hands fell after the knee.
@@TukNasty I think there is no standing 8-count in GLORY? If so, I think it’s a good decision by the referee, as it wasn’t enough to stop the fight, and then they blame referees for stepping in to early.
I noticed that Tariq Osaro fights under Nigerian flag. How does that work, can you just choose under which flag you want to fight? He was born in Zwolle, the Netherlands. Or is this the same as with Max Verstappen, who is born and raised in Belgium, lives in Monaco, and rides under the Dutch flag. Is it like a free choice? I am very curious to see the fight with Verhoeven this weekend! May the best win :)
The referee should not be refereeing this fight ! Should have ended this match more often ! Does anyone consider the consequences of taking back heavy punches ? Does player health matter ? Golden Glory 👇👎👎👎

A lot of comments here criticizing the referee and they clearly are not coming from kickboxing fans. I’m going to say this and I’m expecting all the “doctors” on here to dispute me: Yes, fighter safety is important. But this doesn’t come close to what everybody is freaking out over. Wilnis was nowhere near “death” as lots of non-kickboxing fans like to make it seem. This is normal in this sport. You guys are just used to watching passive, boring fighters from other combat sports who try to avoid a fight instead of actually fighting. Don’t ruin Kickboxing just because you aren’t used to real action. There are too many Glory fights posted on RUclips where the comment section is filled with nothing but, “Fire the ref, the ref!” Maybe instead, you should tell the fighters you watch in Boxing and MMA to step up their game…
If you think that fight was ‘real action’ you need to crawl out of your cave and learn about mf kboxing because that wasnt a fight, it was a beating lol.
@Jussanotha Usa Most of the people making complaints are MMA fans who just discovered Glory for the first time because of Pereira. They always believed kickboxing was boring and couldn’t compete with MMA. Now that they’ve checked out Glory, all of a sudden the brutality factor is overwhelming for them. They need to realize that the rules are not like MMA. In MMA, the ref can wave off the fight instantly. In kickboxing, there’s the ‘no-standing 8-count’ rule. A fighter HAS to get dropped to start a count. I think it’s fair to say Glory does want KOs. It’s a striking sport, after all. Does it go beyond acceptable? People are going to have different opinions. The K1 golden era is probably considered barbaric to people who think today’s kickboxing is too brutal.
Fire that referee 👎👎

@@mickeymomighty5660 A lot of experienced fighters are plain stupid and refuse to take a knee by themselves, that's were the referee has to step in.
He had no business being in the ring with that man. That was completely one sided
The ref let him go his gang🤷
