What is the foundation?
Foundation is an important part of the structure which transfers the load of the structure to the foundation soil. The foundation distributes the load over a large area.
Why do we provide a foundation?
Foundation is to be strong enough to bear all loads without any settlement, So for spreading the vertical load to large area footings are constructed.
Different types of footing depend on the following factors.
1 - The depth of the soil at which sage-bearing strength exists.
2 - The type and condition of the soil
3 The type of the superstructure
Types of footings:
1. Wall footing/strip footing
2. Spread Footings
3. Isolated footings
4. Stepped footings
5. Combined footings
6. Sloped footings
7. Mat or raft foundation
8. Strapped footings
9. Pile foundation
10. Flat or Pad or Plain footing
11. Shoe or eccentric footing

achcha explain kiya hai goswami ji lekin length nahi batayi aapne na hi column ki aur na hi footing ki aur column me kitane baar liye ye bhi nahi bataya,sath me Pcc work ki thickness aur ratio kya tha material ka wo bhi nahi bataya,footing ki aur foundation ki depth kya hai ye bhi bataye

Sir brick ke cover block nhi krte .....use concrete cover blocks ....
I have used cover blocks but 50% of them broke down & not able to bear weight if one person stand on footing reinforcement for tieing of column..
