Huge applause for Carfection, making a video that's very entertaining even when the car is not. The previous GTS cars were special, this one is just a discount Turbo model. I particularly liked the landing strip insight, though the overview of Cayenne nomenclature was just as clutch!

From a German viewer's POV I have to say thank you. Thank you for the great content you put out, but also thanks for using words I've never heard before, enriching my vocabulary :) Today I learned "tenuous". Good stuff. Keep up the great work
Why do people insist on justifying SUVs by saying they should be driven off road. The fact that they give you an elevated view of the road and your surroundings, coupled with the ease of getting in and out of the higher seats is more than enough justification for these cars, and you never need to leave the public highway to enjoy these benefits. I have two sports cars and an SUV and I regularly choose the SUV for no other reason than the ease of ingress and egress it provides.
This is now the second recent new Porsche that Porsche GB have given to the influencers before Henry & Carfection. The 992 red Turbo S wearing the HUL numberplate got given to JWW and the blue cabrio has been passed from pillar to post including STG whilst the silver one went to Carwow before Henry. Now this Cayenne has also been given to influencers prior to this video. I really hope Porsche don't just follow the crowds with bland influencer marketing (from a marketeer).

SUVs are popular because the population are getting on the old side, with abit of money, so they want something to burn the traffic light drag racers, but also something that is easy to use and get into and out of.....at least that my opinion!

one of the best video I have ever seen on youtube if not the best I do not like this car at all but the fact that you r travelling and giving different kind of info is great thank you for this difference
280,000 sales by Porsche? Really puts all others in to perspective. Then the car, and you're thinking it's better looking that the DBX outside and in too. Henry's diversions to salt production, actually quite interesting, but the story of FIDO is one I've never heard of. Great work by all the team for an inspiring review and superb editing (well done Charlie once again!).
First time I've ever voted down a 'Fection vid, but this got me riled. You might as well go for an SQ8... I don't understand these bullshit models, give us the RS6 or 4 or Merc E63 Estate or and shove the rest over a cliff. I'd rather compromise my life for a car, then have a compromised car in my life. The cayenne may have (and continues to) save Porsche, and I may be a snobby purist, but for me I'll always be a "car" guy.
The Cayenne/Macan are absolutely amazing for the sole reason, that through the sales of these glorified shopping trolleys, we have far better developed 911/Cayman/Boxster models. Of course, it then only stands to reason that the 911’s that pre-date the advent of their SUV brethren, are worth wayyyy more - go figure...
I drove quite a few vehicles before buying a Macan. It handles better and goes better than many vehicles out there. It's not a sports car; it's the Porsche of crossovers. Some need a vehicle that can haul the kids as well as be enjoyable to drive. Think of the alternatives....
John Malloy I hear you! Don’t mind my musings, I drive a 2008 Toyota Hilux everyday (with 200k miles on the clock!). The fun cars only come out when the weather is good and when I have enough time to drive the pants off them on some great roads.
The fuel bill would be horrific, and stopping frequently at a service station, would b annoying. I’d rather have a RR Velar, RR Sport, or RR with the most powerful Diesel engine.
Sad to see you jump on the old SUVs off road bandwagon. Vast majority of owners have no interest or need to take SUVs off road. That’s not why they are bought. Plenty of advantages to an SUV that is comfortable and fast on the road. I own a Macan turbo PP and a 991.2 GTS as daily cars. The Macan is extremely useful and comfortable for all sorts - going cycling, transporting large loads, towing my rally car or relaxing on a long wet winter motorway journey. It’s still the most used of those two cars. More useful than my M5 too which is too low and small to be truly flexible. So please get over the SUV off road review.
It is I suppose , a nice SUV, which is about as useful as saying any given Kardashian has value as a human, but can someone please explain why so many high end car makers are choosing colours that are pretty much identical to your average Prius taxi? Here in Canada at least, the ugly oranges, pale blues, awful pastel greens and the ubiquitous yellows, all in one dimensional lifeless tones, are also often seen on Lambos, Maclarens, Porsches, Corvettes, even Aston. Only Ferrari has stuck to colours that look suited to a supercar. Perhaps they want to look like Prius taxis? But then, even Toyota doesn't use those tones on the basic cars. Very puzzling.

Designers were still feeling their way; some cars were dreadful, some were adequate, and some very good indeed. Many were a combination of all three, but, gradually, the worst design ideas were weeded out. Believe me, all cars sold today are miraculous when compared to those of yesteryear and choice is now a matter of budget and personal preference, rather than (almost) life and death.
@@robertcook2572 Yes, I fully agree, however there is a matter of personal preferences. There are tons of cars which are good that I couldn't simply stand. Henry could review a potato and it would still be fantastic.
This definitely wasn't filmed using a potato.
These SUV's are sort of shaped like potatoes.

The original Cayenne design was inspired by a potato. If you look closely you can still see the spud dna still in it.
