Apologies if this has been asked elsewhere. I have Artisan gathering, but I haven't progressed to LOML story yet. Can I pick up the starter quest for Green Thumb gathering without doing any other LOML quests?
Absolutely possible! You just have to be able to get to the island and you have the quest available

Nothing just the skin difference is all. Just like the llamas. It's all preference or whichever you can buy at the time
Has the mini game feature been worthwhile for your gathering game style, it seems to break the immersion somewhat or is it just very subtle randomly? Anyway great you are able to toggle it or not.. I wonder if you already dropped the Millennial Wild Ginseng once or maybe more and if using the lucky villa buff 50m could be worth popping now while gathering games and or even without those games?!.. o.0..
You shouldn't base it off mine but if you're trying too, yeah I get a ton from the mini game, the t4 hedgehog almost always proc's another stack of 26 with the agris on the side of the 100 I get from the mini game not to mention it even times the rare drops so when I use 2k Gathering Mastery, I get a ton more back. The Combat buffs doesn't work on gathering. Only Turning Gates. nothing has changed with the new mini game other than it give the same amount of materials you would have gotten with 10 energy but if your gathering is higher like Master and Guru, you save more energy normally gathering with not using the 1 energy all the time. But again, you should base it off what you can do and have. My Gathering can do more or less than you and won't really help you determine what YOU can do
@@TeddyTwighlite Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge! I did not realize the tent buffs were combat only o.0.. Since the villa scrolls also have one that is there pure for life skilling.. I figured the lucky buff that cost 50m should also work, I see it like just another 50% item drop chance that just stacks on all other buffs (combat/life/agris) and also helps increase weapn, clothes and tools durability, because as far as I can remember out of memory it does not state anywhere those buffs are combat buffs only, just trying to explain how I came up with some of that common sense.. But if you say it does not effect gathering, I should stop wasting silvers on those while gathering you are the Guru here for sure.. And about your perspective on the mini game, I am now wondering if there is some kind of threshold when to use it or not somewhat efficiently, depending on mastery maybe - I cannot believe the only reason for the mini game toggle to be there is just for simple personal preference?.. I am around 1200 mastery fully equipped and buffed which is actually very beginner friendly and easy to equip, 2000 mastery is another league though for sure and I understand more mastery is more efficient like it always has been, but just trying to get the mini game into perspective.. It seems to me it just there to take away the blood sweat and tears gathers normally have to go through making things only less time consuming and easy and gives more incentive for new people to get into gathering, which I think is somewhat lame.. I`m imagining the years a pro gatherer has spend on normal energy burn, not even talking about what it is gonna do again with inflation.. They dummied down the karma system and people are getting everything served on a plate like dream horses ect, is somewhat taking away some of the true BDO prestige aspects.. I could keep going on and on but will cut it short two a couple of cents here, thanks again for the interaction, much appreciated..
I don't think you're understanding. The one buff you're trying to use is the combat one and not the Turning Gate buff that only gives the life xp and energy recovery. It doesn't apply to any lifeskilling other than killing the Shrooms in Polly Forest but NOT the gathering portion.
As for the minigame, I wonder the same thing after gathering at 2.1k Gathering Mastery and proccing the Minigame while and when I was 1800 Mastery. Because the Rares drop more with more mastery then the higher you Gathering Mastery the better the Mini game CAN be not WILL be cause ya know RNG and all. Personal prefence I mean, if you feel as though getting say 20 Buried Traces after 1 mini game is a waste of the energy yeah its all preference but after seeing all the Gathering screenshots of how much people have been able to increase the amounts Gathered, I keep mine on at all times.
A little tip, get one of the Miracle Energy Pots you can make out in the land of the Morning Light or the Central Market, burn all your energy gathering then pop it, and keep gathering while it regens all the energy back before you can use it all. I made 320m Gathering at Behr for 4hrs long which is still a lot better than what I would normally do. I've also been looking for the Ginseng for that HUGE payday or buff so it keeps me wanting the minigame on too.
Sorry for all the rambling and the huuuuuuuuuge reply. Just thought I'd give my opinion and why before you jump to anything without thinking about it in another perspective and hopefully you form a way better thought about the mini game than I. Hope it helps and good luck!

has anyone done any analysis on this the yields for green thumb yet? while my meat gathering time has gone done a lot, my yield has too. i think it's because it only procs the yield you *would* have gotten without green thumb which is itself rng and i end up getting lower numbers of meat at the end of my energy
From what I've gotten, I use 10 energy and can get 100 to 200 for a stack and my hedgehog procs another normal stack I'd normally gather including rares that would drop, using agris with it helps. But I can do a test one of these days
Oh and the llgathering discord posts their numbers there if you wanna take a look
so like the hoe gathering minigame never successfully finishes, ive got all the roots around both weeds as shown but nothing happens, time runs out and the ones i missed are shown, except i didnt miss any. am i missing some other mechanic or is the minigame just that broken cos PearlAbyss lol
Uh are you making sure you aren't digging up any tile that shouldnt be? If any are not matching the exact picture you can fail. Tip: take a picture with ya phone then look at it to solve the puzzle instead of trying to guess.

Not me. I feel lime they're perfect being able to let me gather none stop for a good 4hrs

Does the minigame trigger outside of loml?
Yes. Once unlocked it'll happen as li g as you have it toggled on and applies to the whole family too

As long as you're gathering, yes

Not sure, I haven't gone out there to test it but if its like the other more rare procs yes, it might be as long as you're gathering and not hunting during Treasure events.
