Now despite easily fitting into a backpack or travel bag, the LX25 features 25 full size, velocity sensitive keys, and even though the larger keys take up bit more space, you still get also get a pretty extensive range of controls and features. These include 8 assignable encoder knobs which can be used to control parameters such as oscillators on virtual synths and filter cutoff and resonance, there’s an assignable fader, handy for quick volume adjustments, DAW transport controls and 8 assignable, velocity sensitive pads, which are also back lit so they’re easy if you’re using the keyboard on stage.
Other standard MIDI control features include octave and transpose buttons and pitch and modulation wheels, using the shift button in conjunction with certain keys allows for quick access to more advanced MIDI parameters, there’s a pedal input for sustaining notes or this can be assigned to other functions, and a large LED display is nice and bright, again ideal for seeing parameter changes on a dark stage.
The Impact LX25 has been designed to integrate with a huge range of popular DAWs, including Cubase, Logic, Reason, FL Studio and loads more, and if you’re using any of the integrated software packages, there's a couple of extra buttons on the keyboard, that’s page, clips and scenes which help to make navigating menus within the software even easier.
Finally, just like the other keyboards on our list, the Impact is bus powered via USB, and it’s class compliant, so there’s no need for an external power supply or driver, and it comes supplied with Bitwig 8-track production software, so you can start making music on your computer straight out of the box.
So that’s the Nektar Impact LX25 plus, it’s got great feeling full-size keys, it’s packed full of control options, but it’s still small enough to be portable, and that makes it one of our favourite affordable MIDI keyboards…

I’ve had mine for 3 years, it is so handy and is totally powered from the iPad. I use it with Cubasis 3 and all its on-board synth apps. Best of all it’s so portable 👍
I've had mine for over a year. No regrets
Would you recommend it as a first keyboard ? I'm thinking of starting to make music
@@esckate I would recommend this midi as a first keyboard. There are a lot of quick functions on it that I like. Also you can start, stop, and record from the midi.
@@purecharm3 thanks 👍👍
hey i'm very new to this all so im not good with terminology. is this keyboard able to continue playing notes? like can i assign a recurring note and it just keeps playing (without me continuing to touch it) while i start playing different notes?
@@xvAlien You can do that using software. I recommend Renoise but literally any other DAW (Digital Audio Workstation like FL Studio or Ableton) is just fine.

i'm going straight to buy it..
Wow so much information in just a few minutes this is cool , i like it
This was so helpful! Thank you! :)
Sweetwater just got these back in stock-$109
Hello! I got the Impact LX 25+ too! One question: to enter the menu, press "Shift" + "Patch>". And that's ok. But to exit the menu and save the changes made, which keys should I use? Thanks in advance!
got one and love it!
Works with ableton?
@@psilostatic3172 I wouldn't see why not. As long as yo install the updated software on the site.
Is there a way you can get arpeggiator on there or that effect?
Great Review!
Hello, great video! Were you using the Bitwig music studio when you were doing the demo sounds or another program?
Does this work with akai music software it looks awsome!!
He kinda looks like tony stark at certain angles.
Maybe from the back.
It's just a guy with some glasses and a goatee..
Hi bro ! How does it compare with the Novation 37 Key Launchkey keyboard?
Hi, thanks for the good review. Does this keyboard work with Cubase? Just plug and play?
Would be it above Akai mpk mini MK3?
I dunno I think akai is a smaller basic version
love mine!!!
Is it good for a beginner?
its possible to use it with ipad pro and cubasis and app synth with their knobs?thank you
Hello. It was very useful. I wonder what the switch at the top left does? The one in the upper left corner.
It's not a switch, it's an assignable fader.
@@Tyrannocaster:) thanks..
Hi, ive just got this machine i have a question can I add my acoustic electric guitar to this studio and then add it into my garage band music ipad? How if it's a yes. Thanks for your time.
Lol what kind of back packs do you have???
Any standard size backpack with a space for a laptop should be able to fit this.
Suitcase 🤣🤣🤣💼
Hello bro, I have just bought this keyboard. I use the studion one DAW.
The keys are usable but the record button or other button keys are not working. Have I connected it wrong or is there something that I'm missing. Please do let me know thank you

Hi ! I bought a nektar impact lx 25 plus and i have a MacBook Pro 13, that one with the thunderbolt 3 (usb c) ports. And i want to know if a need an external powered usb c hub or with an non powered hub it will be fine.
Sorry for my bad inglish. I am from Argentina.

Can U just Plug This In An Amp?
does someone know how to do the 3:02 synth effect?
Nekter impect ls 25 is best or asturia milab 25 is best???
Go for a Nektar or Novation ;)
2:09 GusGus is that you?
Does it works with cakewalk?
Hello! Nice video! Can I use this wireless? Like can I use this with batteries?
No.
can it also be used with caustic on the smartphone?
Thanks for the video! A question though; you didnt mention Ableton. Do you know if this works well with Ableton?
Did u find if it works
@@psilostatic3172 Any news guys? :(
Sustain port? Didn't hear?
Does this have an arpeggiator?
It doesn't look like it, I think that depends on the VSTi you use.
Can i use it with Ableton Live 11?
Is it a standalone tool?
I'd like to create sounds at home on my macbook, store it and play it live without a Macbook (only Basslines).
Is it possible or do i need a different tool? If so could you recommend one?
Greets!
Great Video btw
I'm afraid that's not possible without any external device. It's a MIDI controller, not a synth or a sequencer.
Will this work with a Korg Radias synth, i.e. as a MIDI hardware synth controller ?
I don't know the Korg Radias, but I've had the Lx25 connected to my Roland JDXI, Uno Synth Pro and Synthstrom Deluge. So I'd say the answer is yes. It was very easy to learn the Lx25 functions to the various synths.
Can u plug in a EWI Roland AE-10 in?
I could not find any video comparing this to other alternatives. For instance Novation Launchkey Mini MK3 or Arturia Minilab MK2
Novation mk3 and arturia are more popular than this one, but let me tell you this, I have a novation mini mk3 and I am using fl studio, now I will sell it and buy this one, because it arguably has the best fl studio integration, also bigger keys than arturia or novation. Novation is specifically best with Ableton, and I don't use Ableton. Arturia misses a lot of keys like play stop record, instrument switch, and this one has it all. Akai mini mk3 is very attractive, popular, we could say looks better, but doesn't have that good integration as nektar for fl studio. If you are using fl studio I believe this is the best solution, despite some of the other brands may look better
@@marin.kucina ı bought it and ım really happy with the result. The keys feel really good and close to an actual piano and all the features that comes with it. Really good value for the price
Im using bitwig 8 track that comes with it and ım happy with the daw. Just starting this music production so ım kinda beginner but ı love bitwig so far.
@@redpickle I am also a beginner. Thanks for the feedback, happy to hear that you are satisfied with it, do you manage to get all the buttons working? I will also buy it this week, waiting for the black Friday discounts
@@marin.kucina Im currently trying to learn bitwig but ı have no issue on the buttons or the nods. Just one tiny litte thing. Tha pads are not that sensitive ı guess. Im mostly on the keys so thats not a big issue for me but its there.
it feels like you have to hit it a bit hard for it to notice
is it compatible with fl studio?
Can this be used with GarageBand?
I have just 1 question I hope I can get lucky how do you switch from the first 1-8 mixer tracks to the 9-16 using this controller knobs I have read the manual I have tried everything possible I love my nektar impact lx25 I have been using this for years I still can't figure it out it say the preset 3 should enable 9-16 well its not working for me I have tried everything I know possibly so please and thanks much appreciated if I can receive a answer from anyone with help actually help that works also lol 👍🏽🙏🏾👍🏽
Comparison video nektar lx25 vs m-audio oxygen 25 midi controller
which one is best choice nektar impact lx25+ or novation launchkey mini mk3 ?
the mk3, although im buying a used nektar, just bc it costs just 40 euros.
nektar if you want full size keys - Sweetwater just got them back in stock after about 6 months...$109+tax-great deal
Nice keyboard
WIsh Arturia made 37 Full size key keyboards
Hello everyone I’m about to get one of these and I was wondering if anyone knows wether or not the impact lx25+ works with fl studio mobile
sorry for dumb question will this work on iphone?
Not sure about an iPhone, but it does have a low power mode that would allow you to use it with an iPad.
iGazlin thanks for the reply i recently heard about powered usb ports
@@daronerkol Very good -- enjoy. I have this particular midi controller, and this is a good way to go if you're still looking for something. If not, you have plenty of good choices out there for not a lot of money.
Can I use this with an iPad Pro?
yes .
I'm looking for a 25 key midi controller to make some acid house sounds. Would you recommend the Nektar, Akai MPK mini, or Arturia minilab mk2?
I should check out Arturia Keystep as well. The sequencer and arp are some great features to have and it has midi.
What's the difference between the LX25 and LX25+?
+
@@musixmaxpb868 nice
Will this work on my note 8 fl studio mobile?
Yes
This is not really small, the Alesis V25 is way smaller with even better keys.
I'm a beginner so pls can u help me....am you should know how to play piano then u can actually can use that machine???
Not necessarily, although a basic understanding of a piano note disposition is enough. You can learn de C major or A minor scales (which use only white keys) and just transpose it to any key you need.
Hey there, good review!! Would this work just fine making tracks on bandlab or cakewalk? Very new to all this and want to know if I can use it
I recommend arturia mk2 but yes, you can
@@voqz6667 Thanks for getting back to me, if that's better suited for messing around on bandlab I'll defo look into getting one
I can’t figure out how to get mine to make any of those sounds???? I really want the drum pads to work but I don’t understand how to get it programmed to the keyboard?
No arpegiattor ?
No
What kind of pc i need to use??
Any pc modern tho
Any modern PC or Mac
Hey! I am between Nektar and Arturia mk2 midi. Which one would you recommend? 🙏 I am a professional singer-songwriting but beginner in music production. Thanks in advance.
Where is Jan Hammer.?
i really like this tool and am thinking about guying it. im told its not plug and play though does that mean u have 2 download something or need a disk
it is plug and play as it needs no extra software (at least not for fl studio) and you dont even have to register your product etc if you dont want to
@@MageAtYou ya i got it i love it...still got problems wit functionality though ( the pitchwheel ect dont always work)
@@agthaog1986 i got mine today 😊😊 fl studio 20 doing good. Be sure to follow impacts "install PDF". Well dont rly know too much to help tbf
All I want is a beat maker thing without using a pc
Take a look at the AKAI MPK MINI PLAY, that can be used without a PC/laptop as well as with one using MIDI.
Mr. Tilson look into pocket operators, they’re neat
@@Mindboggle100 can i use this midi keyboard without any help of another device?
@@Mindboggle100 please Help me😂
@@george9336 No... It can only be used when connected to a computer, it does not have the ability to create sound without one.
I really like this controller, but the one software I have it doesn't support.
What software do you run?
Natalie Fischer It was the Nektar Impact 25+ but I bought an M-Audio Oxygen and it came with Ableton and other softwares so I’m figuring it out
can't get the pads to play to save my life. pad learn-pad-note-pad learn. Shouldn't that work?
Do this work without a pc
I dont think so. I think you need a pc to set it up and for it to play.
@@stebahn2382 thanks
You will need a pc capable of running a studio programs “FL, Studio one, Ableton, etc” I own one and they are great once you get it going
