As of the latest data about higher education, especifically on PhDs: : India: There are approximately 161,412 PhD students enrolled in various higher education programs. Pakistan: Around 2,000 students complete their PhD each year, with a total of 11,991 PhD degrees awarded over the past decade -- in ten years. AT present there are ONLY 1500 students doing PhDs in Pakistan. Also, the quality of PhDs is poor. For example, one man did a PhD on Narendra Modi -- but he did not ever meet, see or interview Narendra Modi. I've not seen his PhD -- but I guess he concocted a thesis around his ignorance about Hindus, hindutva, Akhanda Bharat, RSS, atrocities on Muslims in India every where, atrocities in Kashmir, etc. etc. that the PhD candidate ignorantly imagined. No Western university will accept a work of this level for a doctorate!! 😢😢.
