Megaword debuted on my 10th bday. I always watched Wheel with my great grandparent’s and they made so much noise during this episode. I remember so much about this night. Thank you for triggering so many memories!! ❤❤

All together, there were 42 Megaword rounds in season 12, and perhaps were Pat Sajak's 42 least favorite rounds in his 90's career. I liked the category, but I personally would have not ever tried this as a category if I was the producer back then. Even some of these contestants back in 94-95 may have never heard of some of those words before, and puzzles like PRISTINELY, BOMBASTIC and OXIDIZED were examples of showing how this category turned out. Oxidized? OXIDIZED?!?! As a WOF wheel-spinning puzzle, seriously?! You're just asking for a lengthy round with that! And it sure was, nearly 6 minutes, possibly the longest-lasting single round in WOF history! "That was a mega-headache" Pat Sajak must've been saying after that round!

I was a high school freshman when this category was introduced. This category is discontinued. The 1997 puzzle board was introduced during my junior year of high school.

Pat, I will really miss you as I grew up with you on Wheel. However, you deserve some "me" time with family and friends and hope you enjoy it. Love Wanna but was hoping you both would leave together to begin Wheel's new era. Am hoping Maggie, as pretty as she is and as much as I like her, will not become the new Vanna. Too much nepotism on TV and in the entertainment world as is and it's time to move awy from that trend. I also hope the network will update the prize amounts to reflect the 2020s and move the show out of the 50s. It's good for modern shows to reflect the era in which they were created.
